    I was literally playing a Lokhir Felheart campaign on Warhammer Total War as this video popped up. Weird.

    I really really hole they become their own army. The design and theme is so cool.

    Considering both the Privateers and the Kharadrons both have a sailing / pirate aesthetic I might make a Tempest's Eye army with both of them in it. The backstory for them is that the Fleetmaster is your average Privateer, loves fishing, fighting giant monsters, sailing, commerce, fighting, swinging from mast to mast on a rope with a sword in the mouth and a dozen or so pistols in the belt, etc, but there's one big thing:
    He and his crew are absolutely terrified of the water.
    So what's an enterprising pirate and his crew to do? That's right, become a sky pirate and become drinking buddies with a bunch of Duardin!

    I low key (actually high key) wanna see a massive battle on an ocean with the Scourge Privateers on the ocean and the Kharadron Overlords in the sky fighting demons. Like imagine someone on a ship with cannons firing at some Tzeench sea monster demon and Khorneate pirates. It’s a massive Order fleet engaging the forces of chaos. You look up and sea Airships fending off attacks from flying demons

    Considering that we’re probably not ever going to get a Vampire Coast-like army in AoS, I’m thinking of stying my Scourge Privateer army (if I get one) after them.

      Dank_Smirk 2nd Channel i don’t think I’d rule VCoast out yet. Would make sense to have someone be able to challenge the idoneth on the seas.

    I've been looking forward to this video since I've been wanting to build a privateer-themed Anvilguard army ever since the Cities of Sigmar book came out.

    I love the scourge privateers I have a small army to go with my deep kin. I also play a flesh eater Court faction based around pirates and the Navy of the Survey King who see them selves as nobel privateers.

    I love this series so much. I absolutely live for all of the different factions in CoS. Doug, my guy, do you think it would be neat to do a mini-series or a video or something on some of the other minor factions of CoS that didnt make it into the book? Namely the Swifthawk Agents, the Lion Rangers, the Eldritch Council, and the Order Draconis.

  • @sigmarsaturdays1936

    Hey Doug, great video! Maybe if you don't have any other video ideas you could revisit the Maggotkin of Nurgle lore? I loved how you touched on the seperate lore of the named characters and daemons but it was somewhat disappointing that you didnt do a video on the more mortal side of Nurgle, with the basic units and heroes such as Blightkings and Rotbringer lords like the Lord of Affliction like you did with other chaos factions? Otherwise i love your content!

    Totally agree on that. They are pretty cool looking models. The Kharybdiss is one of my favorite. It was so much fun to build and paint it and there is so much space on the base for cool ideas for the history of the individual piece. After that, there is the Fleetmaster. Awesome! And of cause the Corsairs themself. However, I am not a fan of the heads. Don´t like the coneheads nor the ponytail stuff. But this can easily be fixed.
    Man, love your work!!! Love to listen during painting. You got a great voice for that.

  • @Mordian_57
    @Mordian_57 Před 4 lety +8

    Love the Kharybdiss. What an awesome model! Too bad the rest of this faction is so limited. Storywise, I would love them to have more (hostile) interaction with Idoneth Deepkin. Fierce rivalries and lots of mutual stalking and things of that kind.

    Awesome video. I was looking forward to this as the Dark Elves were the second faction I fell in love with when I got into Warhammer and the Corsiars where one of my favorite models.
    Do a Order Serpentis. They seem cool and I'm actually waiting for my brand new cities of Sigmar book to come this Thursday as I wanted to build a Dark Elf army based around the Fleet master. With Hired Mercenaries from the Darkling Coven.
    The Order Serpentis seems cool and I'd love to put a Fleetmaster on a Cold one mount. Like this Pirate Lord is one for splendor and fear.
    Also to see how the Order adds to the lore and how they operate l. Darkling Coven is ruled by a Sorceress and Privateers a Fleetmaster but How does a Dreadlord of Black dragon work. And how do they work with the Darkling Coven since you can have a Sorceress on a Black Dragon.
    Also too see how Sigmar and his armies view the Dark Elves is interesting.
    There is a story about the Freeguild and Stormcast attacking a approaching group of refugees. Who are Tzeentch Cultist and Tzangors using Doppelganger magics to disguise themselves in the Tzeentch Battletome. And a group of Darkling Coven or Scourge Privateers I forget which is suppose to show up later and attack from the rear. So they attack and the Cult reveals themselves and fights back but targets the Freeguild heavily really cutting them down and the weapons of the Cult are no match for Stormcast Armor. But just before the Dark Elves Crest the hill behind them the Cult turns back into refugees and runs away. Making it look as if the Stormcast just slaughtered a group of refugees with a Freeguild bodyguard. So it will be interesting to see how this relationship turns out as Warhammer is known for factions breaking apart.
    Also if you do more about the Slaves to Darkness. I was reading the Battletome and I read something that when the Age of Chaos was going on those left behind by Sigmar had to Ethier pledge to Chaos or be cut down or run and hide. This would be an interesting topic at how Chaos numbers boosted by many joining the Dark Gods in order to survive and being corrupted. This would be a nice lore to dive into maybe might see some be cleansed of the corruption that befowled them if they can be.

    Surprisingly, Heart of Winter is essentially about a heist. Not what I expected from the cover, but cool nonetheless.

      If you liked it, "Callis and Toll: the silver shard" is a full book that takes place before the events of heart of Winter and introduces several of the main protagonists of that novella. Silver shard is also outstanding in it's own right.

  • @etinarcadiaego7424
    @etinarcadiaego7424 Před 2 lety

    Just as Doug sees more of himself in the Freeguilds, I see much of myself in these guys, at least philosophically. I too chaff under law and order and only conform to those two things out of pragmatic necessity. Follow the law because you must but bend it as much as possible and get away with whatever you can.
