I could have used it last week while working on a small tablet replacing a part that the solder tip covered the part a polarity protector

    Pretty impressive microscope, Eric! 😃
    Seems like a fantastic tool!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊

Probably HD = 720p and FHD=full HD 1080p. I doubt it will make much difference on that size of screen, can do some for video.
I think for electronics the most inportant features are no lag and large enough field of view ie. low enough magnification and enough space to work with. I wonder how that would work with larger PCBs. Often small platforms can be a pain.

Ps the hot-air rework gun you have has limited air flow. I modified mine by cutting the grid of the air duct and taping the fan to the internal board. And gluing the small gaps between the funnel and fan. It has been a far more better experience to use it then

It has plenty more than enough flow for me in the nearly decade of using it. I never have the fan anywhere near 100% when doing SMD.

I got this after seeing your video. Best Purchase Ever. Thank you for the leg work.

I bought this based on this review and others and I'm finding the 200-300ms latency unusable.. is this kind of latency standard? I'll note I did get the 10" version and not the 7" so maybe that contributes

Hey Eric, this is nice and $100 cheaper than the AD407 I've had on my wishlist after replacing a neighbor kid's bad HDMI port on his ps4 and using the zoom on my phone to see the solder pads. That wasn't easy, but got the job done.
Did you ever do the autonomous flight project I think you mentioned you were going to do, maybe a year ago? Was that using ardupilot? Maybe you did and I missed it. I've been 3d printing Planes from Eclipson and thought about that and wondered how good it worked. Stay safe and take care!

Hey John. Check out the RC/Drone playlist on this channel. Last year I built up the Nano Talon and AR Mini Wing both are iNav so they can operate autonymous. I am editing the AR Wing video right now actually since I never did publish the final assembly/flight after I live streamed it. I will try to upload that soon. It's an awesome little plane with 18650's and iNav.

@@MkmeOrg Wow, not sure how I missed those videos! Definitely checking them out and watching for the new one when you get it published. Interested in how inav worked for your models. Take care!

Is there a delay on the display/hdmi output ?

    • @envyofthebirds
      @envyofthebirds Před 4 měsíci

yes, it feels a bit like working while you're drunk. 200-300ms at least. i'm going to return it as i hadn't considered this.

Looks like as good as just sticking a loupe on high spec phones camera and zooming in. Good enough.

I'd buy it if I had enough of a use for it. Looks like it would be a lot better than a cheap $20 one. I would rarely have a use for it.

do they make any that work with android , I rather pay for better optics and have a phone or tablet holder and use my own display instead of paying for another one, I have so many old android phones and tablets that I could use for something like this , couple old nexus 6p's and a 2018 fire HD 8 , such a shame they don't have any where you can use your won android display , I bought a cheap Chinese endoscope for like $5 and that works with android, albeit it is picky on which phone you can use but works with my pixel 3a xl
no need to sell you another display
