  • How much better digital microscope camera can you expect for three times more money? In this video I will compare the Mustool G1200 (~75$) to the Andonstar AD407 (~240$) and see which one is the best. In this unboxing review you will see if the cheap microscope can do what you want or you need to buy the expensive one. Both are in the range of 100x max real magnification which is great for electronics and mobile phone repair and PCB soldering.
    0:00 Assembly and features
3:00 Testing with the millimeter paper grid
4:20 Scoping the solar cell and flowers
5:25 Using them to solder SMD electronic circuits
You can get these microscopes at Banggood (affiliate):
    Andonstar AD407: bit.ly/3y1o3TI
    Mustool G1200: bit.ly/2UU69nD
These two inspection microscopes are camera based and both have big 7" LCD displays. Both support photo and video recording to SD card, Andonstar also supports HDMI output, so you can use with bigger external monitor.(bigger magnification).
Mustool has a built-in battery and is easily portable. Both support micro-usb power.
Mustool is advertised as 12mp digital microscope, and Andonstar is 4mp, but Andonstar has much better picture quality, more precise focusing wheel and greater depth of field plus a lens protection filter. Plus, the remote controller comes in very handy!
LCD microscopes come in very handy for electronics work, coin inspection, and all sort of things. Even if you are buying other microscope models like g700,g710,g1000,ad206,ad208s,g600, or mt315, you should still check these two out.

  • @JosepsGSX

One substantial difference in image quality is due to the extra led lighting, and that´s easy to solve.
I have the cheap one, and I attached to it a shitty cheap selfie led ring. Man, that does a diference. It is night and day working on the boards, as the stock lighting is just crap.
I also attached it to a cheap "magic arm" gripped to a shelve so you don´t shake the image when workin on the table, and that helped a lot too.
The whole assembly is clumpsy and kinda crappy, but for that money I´m really happy.
It sure gives a too warm color in the camera output to he computer and the recorded images, but it isn´t that bad. On the lcd the colors more accurate.
I would´n spend more money in this kind of microscope. I would rather go for a pure USB one and use a nice big display to show the image (even cheaper than the cheap one if you have the computer/display next to the workbench), or go for an entry level binocular/trinocular. That last one would be for sure my next upgrade if I had the money to spare.

I have a cheap Chinese endoscope and it ha san android app for your phone , limited to which phones it works with though but I see no reason they couldn't do something similar with these
have cell phone mount or tablet mount and stand and better optics, most phones and tablets would provide a better screen , I feel like paying for the screen is a waste and the money could go to better optics or other parts instead or just bring he cost down, you could argue that developing an app would add cost but in the case of the endoscope I don't think it did since it was less than $5

    • @naturfagstoff
      @naturfagstoff Před rokem +1

Yeah, but I found that whole yellow story strange, as the mustool has plenty of and very strong white/bluish leds. How could they possibly slant colors in yellow direction? Well, if you're wearing a yellow t-shirt, that reflect colors into the area, you will get color bleeding, especially if mustools ligths are dimmed down. No reason to think the image sensor is malfunctioning at one resolution, then starts working again at another. There is no lens either, that could bleed color.

and after a month or so of usage , it died , it doesnt turn on , i opened it and tested the board , i found the circuit board to be shorting on the power area next to the charger port , and its poor design seems to have failed in short time because it generates lots of heat while it doesnt have and proper cooling ,
