  • Looking to buy a microscope? This video will help you figure out which one is right for you.
    I invented a bunch of cool microscope products. Check them out at microsafari.org
    Prefer to see this video as a blog-style webpage where you can compare images from the microscopes side by side?
    I made that here: microsafari.org/pages/what-mi...

    I don't have a microscope. I don't have plans for buying a microscope. I don't have even the remotest theoretical need for owning a microscope.
    I'm learning about microscopes today.

      They satisfy curiosity if nothing else. I see specks in drinking water, put a drop under the microscope and inspect it. Of course then there's the problem of interpreting the result of what you see, but at least you can usually tell if it is a mineral or if it is moving.

    Hi, nice job in going through all the differences of these microscope types.
    Just for completeness, you can have the same image quality of the Zeiss Axio Imager at a small fraction of the price by using a Zeiss Labscope or Primostar 😉

    Got the (one of the) Mega Chonkster(s) in 2022 from the basement as a start (I DO NOT RECOMEND for starters) and giving a try for the MicroBrite today - portability and giving it to your kids is a thing!

    I purchased an Amscope M150C, alongside a Carson micro flip, and It's been pretty a pretty good choice for me. It was under $100 and it checks all the boxes for a part time hobby.

    Very good, I love scopes with a view screen, so much better then peeping though optics exactly as needed.

    I didn't think you could get a decent stereomicroscope for $90. Can you install a barlow lens on it to increase the focal distance?

    I would really appreciate it if you would review some of the digital microscopes from temu. You do an in-depth and comprehensive review and would like to know how good they are.

    Great video! What's the difference between the Swift 350B and the 380B other than the 380B has focusing knobs on both sides?

    I use AOPICK's coin microscope to look at a collection of coins, and the removable holder market is taken by my kids to look at leaves.

    I’m a hobbiest that wants to see up to blood cells and microorganisms that size and be able to film it to show to my family and friends. What microscope should I buy? I apparently need something that magnifies up to 1000x but I don’t want to spend more than $100

    I’d like to buy this model. I’m wondering whether anyone has any experience with the optics of this model. One thing I need it for is to examine phono cartridge styli. The other is to measure parts I machine. So I need the high mag for that. It’s at a good price right now.AmScope ZM-4 Series Advanced Trinocular Stereo Microscope 2X-225X Magnification on Double Arm Boom Stand with Fiber Optic Ring Light and 18MP USB 3.0 Camera

  • @ZarlanTheGreen

    You mention that the magnification on the digital microscopes are lies ...but make no mention of what the actual range of magnification is, on the ones you mention here. Why is that?

    • @micro_safari
      @micro_safari  Před 8 dny

      I think I put the magnification numbers overlayed on the B-roll which are an approximate equivalent to optical magnification numbers. Generally though magnifications for digital microscopes don't hold as much value since the final quality of the image also greatly depends on the quality and system integration of the image sensor. If it's 2x more magnified but is 3x worse image quality then there's not much point to the 2x more magnification.

    • @ZarlanTheGreen
      @ZarlanTheGreen Před 7 dny

      @@micro_safari The B-roll indicates the magnification used, in those specific instances. Not the actual possible range, that the microscope can manage. This is especially clear, in the cases of two or more different stated magnifications, from different views, from an individual microscope.
      You do not show any numbers, for the actual magnification of them.
      (the optical magnification, that is. Not digital "magnification", by cropping the image and having a fuzzy/pixelated image. Real magnification, where you still have a decently clear image)

    Can you do a cameras review compared with some found online like on Amazon, etc? I would love to have one to use and see good movement like for stuff small like sperm

    • @thomasmaughan4798

      "stuff small like sperm"
      You'll need about 100x (or more) magnification for that.
