I love in-development captures, so cool how things have envolved but damn, the schedule was very tight if pre-Alpha was actually this late

A lot of this alpha version is better than the final version, especially the graphics that looked ahead of its time.
PLEASE Crystal Dynamics remaster the Tomb Raider Legend Anniversary and Underworld Trilogy with all DLCs for all consoles and PC

They probably wasn't able to properly archive much of contents like these for the classic TR games (it's been 2 decades+ and the switching of studios and publishers probably also didn't help, square enix now has all the rights to TR tho, game wise I think) so they couldn't show much of those besides just some artistic renders. Glad they're doing this for underworld though. Would've been nice to see one for legend and anniversary.

Ow for the united timeline. Tomb Raider needs to get back to this style. It's so Tomb Raider'ish and iconic
Underworld is my favorite modern TR alongside Anniversary. It has decent full-size tombs (something which is missing in the reboot era even after three games), no QTEs, an excellent Lara model with great outfits, some great set pieces, and good controls (Lara's platforming abilities and the way she interacted with the scenery, being able to climb and interact over objects and platforms of any size were way ahead of its time). It's only downsides, in my opinion, were its length (way too short) and lack of challenge (well, at least there was some gameplay, which is better than the 'hold forward to continue' faux platforming present in the reboots). And, of course, the fact that the DLC was a 360 exclusive, never released anywhere else, even on PC. To add insult to injury, that DLC was not just a set of extra costumes and such: the main game story is left unfinished at the end, and you need to play the DLC to reach the true ending. In other words, the DLC included the last two game levels, which were cut out of the main game and sold for an extra, a shitty practice which was really common at the time.
It would be so great if you could release the console exclusive Underworld DLCs for the PC
Saints Row The Third, a 2011 game, got remastered last year.
Why does Square Enix show no care for pre- 2013 Tomb Raider :/

My favourite TombbRaider game would pay for a remake of this and a continuation of the game in this game style.
From the looks of it I think it was planned to go out on PS2 as well. But then they might have ditched this Version and went with the final one and separated a team for that mess that was Underworld for Wii and PS2.

See PS2 wasn’t too bad if you had none of the others to compare it to. It was the time before videos looking at every single difference and dissecting it. I only had a PS2, so I had no choice, only really noticed how bad it was when I got a PS3 and bought the trilogy (Legend, Anniversary and Underworld). It was sad though that they changed so much!
The PS2 and Wii versions are actually the PC/PS3/X360 beta version. The cinematics use camera angles that were later changed, and there's additional gameplay in the Croft Manor and Jan Mayen levels which was simplified/removed for the next gen (at the time) platforms.
Omg the trailer at the end got me all excited. Gotta play this gem once again. Fantastic games, all from this trilogy. They bring back so much nostalgia...The Tomb Raider games will always be my favourite.
Interesting! I loved seeing the underwater propulsion unit back from TR3! That would have come in hand for the underwater levels! XD

In two years, some part of the crystal dynamics made Tomb Raider Anniversary and the other part started working on enchancing the game engine and when Anniversary was finished those teams merged again then finished Tomb Raider Underworld in 1 year. Damn. Well, good luck on Perfect Dark I liked the original so I am curious how that one will turn out to be. We won't be seeing a new Tomb Raider game untill 2023 aren't we? Maybe 2024 or probably 2025... The footage was really cool tho, thanks!

Tomb Raider Underworld cidden en sevdiğim oyun. Hem Lara harikaydı, hem de grafikler ve modellemeler o zamana göre çok iyiydi hele hele Lara'nınkiler çok detaylıydı. Şu an ayrı bir heyecan var üzerimde çünkü yüksek ihtimal seneye Tomb Raider Underworld DLClerini PC'de göreceğiz.

@@Himes5564 son üçleme shadow ile bitti. Yeni üçleme gelecek ve yeni hikaye eski hikayeler ile bağlantılı olacakmış. Modern Tomb Raider'daki ağlak Lara'dan bıktım açıkçası umarım özüne döner ve sert korkusuz Lara'yı tekrar görürüz.

So it does look less polished/professional. But it also look more vibrant and less bland. In the final version everything is brown, blue or grey and with a greyist tint (except Thailand) and each level has only one main colour (except Thailand)
This has always bothered me especially coming from Legend and Anniversary which had beautiful mixture of colors in different rooms in one level. Underworld's levels were mostly defined by a single color hue.
I was expecting something different like the Legend alpha. How it looked like a complete different game from the final product. 😱
Legend was the frist game in this trilogy so it's expected that they did a lot of experimentation before settling to the final product. For Underworld they just needed to build upon on what they already had so these videos arent that exiting as Legends lol If you're expecting something completely diferent, check out tomb raider assention, the alpha version of the 2013 reboot.

The remastered one is fascinating and definitely inspired by Tomb Raider 1-2-3 along with Anniversary~
However, for me, it's too dark and scary of a game😂😭...But yeah, that's why it's named "Underworld"!

Camera in Underworld is ugly.
This is the only TR game I couldn't finish. It was buggy as heck.
That last crotch shot is... maybe removed that now lol.
Loved the lighting in this game. Especially in Mexico. Thought the character model was the best to date, but her face always felt a bit off, kinda like a bratz doll.
