Takis Shelter, a new home for Rex

- Rex is 17 years old. His boss, who loved him very much could not take care of him anymore. It is not sure how Rex was injured but Takis took care of him and his wounds are healing well now. Today is the first day that Takis can use his new 4WD car that was sponsored by many friends of his Animal Shelter. Takis Shelter is located near Ierapetra on the Greek island Crete. Takis decided that with the new car, today, it is a great opportunity to take Rex with him to the Shelter where he can take care of him and Rex can have a new home.

Now Takis has his own CZcams Channel "Takis Shelter". I just started watching in March 2020. What a change in his shelter 5 years later. So many more animals and now seems to have some volunteers. I hope to go there one day to volunteer as well. What an amazing man.
And now look at Takis, all these years later. As of January 2022...Takis has over 500 dogs. He is truly...a man of God. Takis is the real deal. A man who is truly trying to help animals. A man who is not in it for money...but from his heart.
I know this video is 4 years old and glad to see the vehicle us sponsored by friends, but every time he comes back home his animals are overjoyed to see him, and now he has 400 dogs, animal lovers please adopt, unfortunately Crete and Greece don't have a good reputation when it comes to looking after them!!

Rex just perked up when he arrived on this shelter. He was so sad at his former home, that he just seems half dead. Salute for animal rescuers and shelters. Such a job requires a strong heart, because there is no reward for this advocacy, lots of sadness and only moments of relief saving animals.

I came across this 5 year old video this morning. Look at the before and after photos of Takis Shelter. He has built a paradise for his dogs, cats, goats, sheep. Hundreds of dogs coming in and many have been adopted, (more adoptions needed) he has regular volunteers, paid employees, trees, fruits, flowers, etc. Truly a man with a passion, a vision and the determination. He has fulfilled them for his untiring love for Crete's abandoned dogs and cats. They have love, food, water, house, friends...a place they can call home. TYT. He is a considered a hero, a saint...to many people around the world.

@ Carolyn Rombardo, Thank you, I put out comments all over different rescue videos to help donate to Takis: money, time, supplies, fostering, adoption, help, volunteering, vets and vet techs and medicines, food shelters, Labor to help build shelters for the animals. I tell them to watch Takis sanctuaries, shelters in Crete, Greece. I'm in the states and we are 21 yr animals rescuers. It's not always easy, but when an animal is healed, helped, loved, adopted, fostered, volunteers, supplies, time, money, all of it let's you go help another needy animal. It's so worth it. Best feeling in the world. God bless all.

Takis do you spay ,neuter all of the happy tails.I live on a dead end street in the desert.Dog dumps all the time..They get all needs met or go to sanctuaries.Bless you Takis,and all the happy tails.
From what I've read he does for almost all of them. I guess some he can't for health or age reasons. I read an article as well where he complained that he was in contact with German vets willing to come and spay and neuter for him for free, but the Greek government wouldn't approve the paperwork. So he's definitely putting in a lot of effort to be as responsible as possible.
Takis spays, neuters and microchips all the dogs.
