- Houndreds of dogs are being dumped in the street everyday. Especially puppies. These are just the dogs we have found and took in Takis shelter in the first 4 months of 2019. Please neuter/spay your dogs/cats.

The Greeks from Crete are very, very cruel people. I can not comprehend the pleasure they can get from inflicting torture on any Animals. The Government needs to create an Animal welfare society like they do in the UK and people who are abusing Animals are brought to justice. Very few Greeks have a Dog as a Pet. They chain they up outside where they are neglected of ant basic needs. They may, if they are lucky, get thrown a few scraps of food, and occasionally water. They are not regarded as sentient creatures and believe they don't have emotions or feel love. So many thousands of Dog's in Greece die on the end of a chain and unwanted Puppies thrown in the rubbish bins, where people walk passed hearing the cries of these innocent lives. These people walk around with their Crucifexs round their neck, sitting in the Kafineons, praying with their worry beads, like the Good Christians they believe themselves to be. I have met many truly good Greeks but when it comes to caring for Animals, sadly, they are in the great minority. Takis is a Saint among the many Sinners. It is heartbreaking to see all these defenceless, innocent Dog's/Cat's being disposed of like a broken Toy. Please donate, even a small amount, to Takis Shelter, so he can carry on with these rescues and make a huge difference to save these wretched lives from the diabolical actions of so many hypocrites who call them selves good Christians. If there is a hell, there will be no Dog's there for them to abuse anymore. 🙏🙏🙏

Takis you give me hope!! I had a rough week... I thought how can I deal with some insensitive humans who give up on their pets and dump them ... I am alone... How much more can I go on rescuing without funds or volunteers.... But I can't stop saving lives because if we give up then who will save them. I was depressed today.... This morning I got a call from wonderful vets in a nearby city who readily offered to help one German Shepherd I rescued recently with all his medical needs plus help me find him a good home. I'm happy.... I was sad yesterday because I was very worried about him... There's a severe hurricane here in India and it was tough for all of us.
