    The K-Tuned race spec shifter cables were one of the first K-Tuned products I ever owned. The first was the Ram header and then these cables. I've owned them and put them under abuse for a good 5 years so far. I decided to get myself a fresh pair instead of trying to liven these up a bit.

    As a long term user of the k tuned shifter it would be cool to see you compare it to the hybrid racing k series shifter and oem shifter cars. Similar to the intake manifold vid. Its the way you explain the stuff, like your clear and calm the whole time and focused. You are a good vlogger and have a better car then half the community and its taken you time and saving.

      @ksisjdm  Před 5 lety +1

      That's a good idea. I'd have to find someone with the latest version shifter from hybrid. I've had one before but it was the no cut version which I dont recommend the no cut shifter from hybrid or from ktuned. I only support the RSX type shifters they both offer. From what I know, it would really come down to personal preference between those shifters. They are both well made. There's less of the hybrid around since they typically do not have any stock available for months on end

    • @ksisjdm
      @ksisjdm  Před rokem

      The race spec cables are just very stiff in the sleeving, so trying to find a smooth route to your shifter is key to keeping them less tense. The majority of my cables are in a "S" shape behind the dash board before reaching my shifter

  • @hardspaghetti9989

    @childstar I have this box but mine is kind of underneath the car with the karcepts mounting kit. To service the brass pivot ball ( clean and re-grease ) do I have to drop the entire unit from the bottom? or can you disassemble some bits and pull it from above?

    • @ksisjdm
      @ksisjdm  Před 5 lety +1

      Youd have to drop it because you have to disconnect the side arm in order to get to the pivot ball. It should not need regreasing often at all. For me it was more of me being nitpicky rather than a necessity

    looks like you have the same issue the initial sloop when you first engage the shifter forward, i own the hybrid racing shifter box, and i was not to happy the k tune box looks a little to big for my taste i know its billet and hell it looks awesome i wish they down the size a little, anyways awesome channel and great review, im probably just going to get k tune cables over the HB ones, i dont see to much quality control there on HB maybe the stuff is getting built over seas? k tune ftw

    • @ksisjdm
      @ksisjdm  Před 5 lety

      I dont have any slop. I simply dont set it up ridiculously tight because all that does is promote premature wear and has no benefit at all.

    • @ksisjdm
      @ksisjdm  Před 5 lety

      There is no difference in engagement, the "loose" feel doesnt not effect reaching gears or anything in any manner.

    Hey bro quick question
    My rsx also has a k24/k20
    And when on cold starts
    It will die immediatly
    My started is perfext at 13.7 volts
    Changed my sparkplugs
    And coilpacks
    All brand new
    Only way it will hold idle if is i start it in gear and just go
    It will take about 20 to 25 seconds for of driving for it to hold idle
    If not it will just keep stalling
    Until its warmed up
    Any ideas?

    • @ksisjdm
      @ksisjdm  Před 5 lety +1

      Sounds like you dont have an idle air control valve on your car and the low idle at startup until warm is normal when an IACV is not present. You can counter balance this with adjusting your idle slightly higher so that it wont die but it'll idle really low until warm.

    • @lcameeno1
      @lcameeno1 Před 5 lety

      @@ksisjdm i actually do have an AICV
      Had it changed and done the little adjustments on it done by a professional tuning shop
      Maybe its a faulty aicv?

    • @ksisjdm
      @ksisjdm  Před 5 lety +1

      I would look into the tune then. With an idle air control valve, it should idle HIGH first, now low...and when it warms up the idle would drop to the right number. Without an iacv, the engine rpm works backwards...cold start idles low and warms up and raises idle naturally
