The fact is though that 'poor defending' isn't against the rules of the game. Handball is. If Henry didn't cheat and handball then there would have been no poor defending because the ball simply would have sailed out for a goal kick. So there would have been no need to defend it at all. As an Irishman Roy's anger and frustration should have went towards Henry and the referee, nothing else.

strip everything down and just listen to what roy says about goal. when malouda put the ball in the box the first thing i shouted was dont let ball bounce. it ended up in the net and i went ballistic at shit defending. it wasnt until third view henry handball becomes obvious. of course the emphasis changes then but you still cant get away from the fact the ball shud not bouce and mcshane shud not let henry around the back of him. plus the only weakness to given game is he dont come off his line

The FAI are a disgrace in the way they treated their players while the FAI members were travelling first class. The players get you to tournaments not the committee members. The FAI used the tournaments as a knees-up and thats what annoyed Keano. Remember Roy saw how a club should handle players at United under Fergie, and thats what he wanted from the FAI and they failed.

And actually henry didn't even have to touch the ball. if he had used his left foot to cross it in, it would have been the same result. then more people would be asking questions of the defense.
