Hey great shots of Mananyunk and thanks for pronouncing “Cynwyd” correctly. Most out of towners are mystified by those place names.
The great thing about calling it "America's weirdest train line" is that pedantic nerds can start arguing in the comment section. (Which, of course, drives engagement). For a commuter rail line, it does look pretty unusual, but is it more unusual than, say, the Navassa Island Railroad?
Great video as always brother
You are getting so good at these videos!! And you were good to begin with. We don't have much train rail out here in CA but what we do have is neat. But I love watching this stuff!
Where would we be without our kid! Nice one young man!
That is very cool and very scenic! I always love your stories of the history of the lines you ride. That one was very interesting! I wonder how they stay in business if you're their only rider!
What a bizarre stump, thank you for highlighting it! Checked the map and the schedule after my first watch of this clip, it gives off the same vibe as I got from that Hoboken-Montclair weekend Arrow service you showed us a while ago - looks like they're eking out a service from marginal, otherwise unused, time in driver shifts - well done for bringing your custom to a station business \m/
thank you! that’s an interesting point about driver shifts, you may be right that drivers would cycle off other lines - after all, there is always a crew change at suburban. even so, i think it deserves more service!
@@honajtransitindeed, just a couple of half-time shifts could surely cover the current mid-morning and mid-afternoon gaps and form the basis of a solid training regime \m/
The Cynwyd branch is very similar to the New Canaan Branch on Metro-North in my opinion.
in some ways it is, that’s true
id disagree as the new canaan line serves much more people, but id liken it to MBTA's stoughten line.
When I did my senior internship at Glass Entertainment, I would get an Uber from Glass to Merion and then one of my parents would pick me up at Daylesford. Sometimes my mom would drive me in on a morning and sometimes I'd do that both ways
Have you ever ridden the Metra Blue Island Branch? You might see some similarities.
i've not! when/if i go to chicago, i'll put that on my list!
Hey honaj great video why is it single tracked
thanks! it was most likely single tracked after the pennsy cut service back to manayunk, but i'm not 100% sure!
