We can’t get enough of his calm delivery that’s so relaxing, and his deep voice sounds like it was meant trigger a lot of ASMR tingles. The original Two Poets video is actually very relaxing on its own, but we found that James Vincent Cunningham had the most relaxing voice, so we’ve put together this short unintentional ASMR compilation of his soft-spoken poetry. The introduction in the original video was cut from the final video. We’ve only done some audio enhancements for this unintentional ASMR video, specifically edited for maximum ASMR triggers. We also tidied up the audio and removed some loud or non-relaxing noises which broke the relaxing vibe and did our usual thing to highlight the best unintentional ASMR moments! Let us know if you like this version that we’ve made.

I swear TV was a lot calmer back then. I've seen a lot of old TV commercials as well, and they're so different from how they are now. No loud ear-blasting music, no one yelling loudly to tell you to go buy the product, they just calmly tell you what they're advertising and how to use it. Way less stressful.

James Vincent Cunningham,
(August 23, 1911 - March 30, 1985),
was an American poet, literary critic and teacher.
His accent is very Irish, his father was Irish but he was not. It does add something to the recital, adds age and mournfulness to it (Ireland has an ancient and dark history).

Been re-playing this a lot, its giving me heavy ASMR tingles---such a pleasantly relaxing recital of poems. Mr. Cunningham's voice is perfect and apropos for verbally reciting what he's written. And the other quiet sounds (like the clothes and paper rustling, and the slight creaks of the chairs they're sitting in) enhance the ASMR-ness greatly. :)
As a sometimes poet myself, his poems here are great, would love to track down some of his published works.
I always thought the "Old Wine" scene from 1931's Dracula was the earliest known ASMR on film or video.
He sounds like he's trying to tell a scary story to kids around a campfire.

Love the rustling noises in between poems. What’s this “deep voice” reference? His voice is high tenor at best-- not an unpleasant voice, but certainly not deep, or even approaching deep. But the best asmr aspect (other than a rare and occasional “wet” voice sound) is the clothes rustling noise.
Right I was expecting a much deeper voice. His is like the average man’s but still very nice!!
