    Hello Mr. Mustermann! I watched your attribute-less skin a month or so ago and while it was very well made with lots of community support, it scared me off due to my over-reliance on attributes haha. (I will try it once I save enough for FM24).
    Then I saw your Moneyball clinic video on Frankfurt pop up in my recommendations a couple of days ago. I enjoyed it so much I subbed instantly and watched the Sevilla and Wolves video as well. You're doing incredible work and the level of effort and detail in your videos is amazing. This is exactly what most of us love about this game and why I switched from Fifa to FM back in 2016.
    As for your question about the Moneyball clinic, I'd love to see them more frequently. I agree that the PAOK save could be done with longer videos covering a few months at a time with a few videos like these covering an important game. Whichever way you decide to go with your channel, I'll be here for both PAOK and the Moneyball clinic videos.
    Thanks for all the hard work!

      It's one of the few times I "game" the system. Almost immediately as the clock turns 75 minutes I'll make changes. If I need to make them earlier, I try and give them as much time as possible so as to give as much of a chance as possible for them to make a positive contribution - either at half time, or around the 55/60 minute mark.

    Great video and series. Also love the moneyball series so happy to hear there will be more of that. As for the paok series I like the idea of more detail… was very interested to hear you always tight mark striker and press wingers in a 433 and once AEK changed formation you changed your instructions to match. Even in that part of the video more detail would be great. I’m still a noob compared to you are other content creators but you could easily dive into things like that where you say you always do certain things against certain formations and why. Even here I am wondering you always do that against these formations with your current tactic or with any tactic you use?
    Anyway long run on comment but just figured I’d pass on my thought. Keep up the great content

    • @mustermannfm
      @mustermannfm  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Thank you for the comment, and not running on long at all!
      In terms of pressing triggers for the 4-2-3-1, I do touch on it a bit here: czcams.com/video/EYFuukKCo1o/video.html - essentially we are sitting off in the opposition half, funnelling play inside, and then harassing as soon as they get into our half. The plan is to use the ball going into the AM as the trigger to converge from all sides, so there's no room for them to go.
      Regarding tight marking the striker(s), with a back 3 system, I should always have a spare man, so I can afford for one to follow the opposition striker around whilst there will always be another left to cover if needs be. This kind of ties back to what was mentioned in the previous video about handoffs. When marking responsibility switches between two players, there is a brief moment where that player will be free. Tight marking will still see those handoffs occur, but it helps to ensure that those moments of "freedom" are relatively short.
      In terms of whether I always do it. So in this save, yes. It's part of the overall tactical identity/plan. But how I approach it will be very different from save to save. Some saves I will have rules that I follow for every game. Others, Opposition Instructions will be situational only. Sadly, no hard and fast rules. It's all about understanding what you're trying to achieve with the tactic, and then working from there. Which also makes it hard to explain, because the tactical approach will often be tied to the players available, and that changes wildly from club to club.

    Definitely mixing it up for me if it was just a series story one after another I’d lose interest or miss loads then watch some later. How you are doing it is perfect we have a series in Greece, lessons on data and recruiting etc and constantly learning about the skin. One thing you are inspiring me to do is…basically do more all the little tips and tricks are things I never do I just bomb through the game week by week not really paying attention to anything but that’s slowly changing

    • @mustermannfm
      @mustermannfm  Před 3 měsíci

      Thank you for your thoughts, dude!
      I definitely enjoy those more topic-driven episodes, and tying that into the narrative. Even if it is drilling into a specific player and what they're doing well and what they're doing poorly; and I think it's difficult to do that properly when updating just a single month. When I was "blogging" on the SI Forums, it was always more interesting looking at things over longer periods of time (and with the knowledge of the outcomes beforehand, so that there's actual evidence to draw upon)

  • @willowspuppy
    @willowspuppy Před 3 měsíci +1

    This is great stuff. Personally I really appreciate the detail level that you go into with your videos so if you change your format, keep that in mind. One question I had from this one is that you gave your starting 11 a day of rest after the previous match but you also had the typical Recovery and Match Review sessions the following day... Why the 1 day of rest?
    Edit: I definitely would like to see your approach to handling playing time expectations, rotation and fitness over the course of a busy season.

    • @mustermannfm
      @mustermannfm  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Players who are "rested" still attend low-intensity sessions. There is a hover-over tip somewhere in the game that says that at least - not that I can remember exactly where. I also don't know what constitutes low-intensity. Recovery definitely does, but I don't know about Match Review. I would assume it does, considering the game only allows you to implement it the day after a game.
      It is also worth pointing out that it is 1 extra day of rest. As you can see when I hover over the rest info in the squad screen - it says "2 days of rest" despite me only selecting 1, which I believe is related to the intensity thresholds set in Training -> Rest. This all helps to reduce fatigue over the course of the season.

You've actively chosen to carry on watching the series despite my weirdness and bad jokes 😂 - so, your opinions here really matter!
      What I will say is that the changes should not be a change to the style or quality (hopefully). What I intend would be for longer episodes, and for the match portions to perhaps tie in a little bit more closely with the narrative for whichever topic is the throughput for that episode. Where two episodes in a week might have a combined run time of 25 minutes, the single episode might be 20 minutes.

    As a newbie to FM and your channel love the deep dive into how you play the game. Is that comprehensive highlights? Also is there any reason you dont pause while making adjustments?
    For PAOK I think 20 to 30 minutes is a great video length, some portion to catchup on results and then a deeper dive into an aspect of how you run the club or a developing storyline sounds like a great watch.

    • @mustermannfm
      @mustermannfm  Před 3 měsíci +1

      That is comprehensive, yes. I don't pause because there isn't a pause button in real life (and the games take long enough as it is!!) - I also used to play full matches, at second to highest speed before YT, so the games used to take a lot longer, and there would be plenty of time where nothing of interest would happen, so there was no need to pause. This is a holdover from those times. As is, probably, shouting to individual players, as I'd be able to react a lot easier to isolated incidents that might otherwise seem mundane - things such as misplaced passes under absolutely no pressure, for example.

      I don't do this for every game. Apologies if that was misleading. As mentioned at the beginning, AEK have hired a new manager, and given they are a good team, I want to actually observe it before we played them. As long as Capellas is in charge, I won't go into that detail again; I'll just check what players are available/likely to play. Although relying on my memory might not be the best strategy 😂
      I won't be doing that for teams that I'm not worried about; but also results can impact that. Last season we drew against OFI, a team I wasn't too concerned about, and so when we played them a second time, I made sure to do my research. I'll also do it for probably every team in the UCL proper.

      We're at about the 60 hour mark currently. 1 league game into season 2 🙈.
      Although, just to be clear, I don't do this for every game. Apologies if that was misleading. As mentioned at the beginning, AEK have hired a new manager, and given they are a good team, I want to actually observe it before we played them. As long as Capellas is in charge, I won't go into that detail again; I'll just check what players are available/likely to play.
      I won't be doing that for teams that I'm not worried about; but also results can impact that. Last season we drew against OFI, a team I wasn't too concerned about, and so when we played them a second time, I made sure to do my research. I'll also do it for probably every team in the UCL proper.

      @@mustermannfm Thanks for the reply, please no need to apologise, you play the game how ever you want to! I find it incredible the amount of detail the game has to offer and didn't know much of the screens existed.

      @@CallMeSpoon there are a lot of screens. And many of them are only situationally useful. And it's not immediately obvious when those situations are 😂
