    That StealthBurner looks nicer than the hot ends from all of the Chinese 3D printer companies. It looks more like something you'd see on a Stratos commercial 3D printer or one of the $4K+ prosumer grade printers. If I had a Klipper machine with good input shaping, I'd have opted for the high flow version of the StealthBurner so extrusion rate wasn't the speed limiting factor for the Troodon 2.0.

      @ygk3d  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching!
      These two printers are quite different so I’m not sure a comparison would make sense. The Bambu is smaller and hands-off in its operation. The Trodoon is larger and has a steeper learning curve but offers the opportunity to mod and tweak, which can be a hobby in itself.

    • @Liberty4Ever
      @Liberty4Ever Před rokem

      I know the community loves to hate on Creality, and most of that is justified, but they will start shipping their K1 Max soon. It's their answer to the Bambu Labs X1C. The K1 is more of a direct competitor but the K1 Max offers a larger 300 X 300 X 300 mm print volume. Not as large as the 350 X 350 X 330 mm Troodon or larger Voron printers, but a fast large volume CoreXY printer with good print quality using Klipper input shaping and in the case of the K1 Max, a lidar for first layer inspection.

    I guess other videos are there for people to disassemble and assemble the SB. Note that if the nozzle is no longer centered on the pin, DO NOT run to the files to make changes. • @ygk3d
      @ygk3d  Před 10 měsíci

      My choice would be the Troodon. It is more solidly built with all metal parts. The only major difference would be the firmware. The Troodon comes with RepRap but the switch to Klipper is easy if that’s the route you want to go.

    Hey man, did you shorten the cables somehow when removing the cable chain? I'm going to do a sensorless homing so need to get rid of the chains.

    • @ygk3d
      @ygk3d  Před 7 měsíci +1

      I pulled back any excess and stuck it under the bed. Some people have unplugged the cable and routed it out the back ventilation holes which also seems like a good strategy.

    • @sabahoudini
      @sabahoudini Před 7 měsíci

      @@ygk3d I see. I experimented some more and if you use the cable chain and put it upside down it is very stiff. Furthermore at the edges you can detach a few links and reattach them upside down making the cable chain bend up at the edges while being stiff in the middle. Then you can run the cable along the back extrusion and have the cable chain limit the movement of the cable except at the two ends of the cable chain. You would have to print something to attach the cable chain to the back extrusion and keep the part where the cable starts from vertical. The cable would go from the left side of the back extrusion to the toolhead. I haven't printed anything yet but the bottom holes can be used to attach the cable chain to the back extrusion.

    Unfortunately the Troodon is NOT a Voron. I learned that the hard way. The belt path does not match a voron. The pulleys are different and the belts are on different heights. Bought a light weight X gantry with CNC xy joints, they do not match. The belts don't line up. Further more, the extrusions are 20 x 23 mm WxH which is a weird choice. If you want to mod it extensively this is not a printer for you.

    • @ygk3d
      @ygk3d  Před rokem +1

      I'm not sure that would make a whole lot of sense. The S1 seems to have a decent extruder/hotend setup from factory. This Stealthburner needs an MGN12 linear rail for the carriage to ride on. I don't own the S1, but it seems to use v-slot wheels, so the Stealthburner wouldn't be directly compatible.
