Their warranty is pretty insane though. 10 year full warranty on everything almost.

Reminds me a lot of the interior on my Lexus and that is a good thing. Though I wish the piano black trim wasn’t still a thing. Interesting choice. I look forward to hearing more. I am one of those people who got burned too many times by GM’s quality issues so I would like to see how it holds up.
Thanks Connie and Shane for your first impressions. Cindy's impression will be important here, but because it's a Honda and we were originally Honda's owners, that's a plus. Nice job Adam. I'll let you know once I get the new Mach 5. Some questions for you. Does the wireless charging work with the Otterbox case? And does it work every time? How responsive is the touch screen? How well does Carplay work? How's the call quality on both ends? How good is the route planning? What's the charging curve like? I think there's a way to change your driver console view to give you different information. However, I don't think any of them give you the SoC in percentage. I think that's all for now. That should be a couple of videos at least. 😜
Otter box works every time. Touch screen is good enough not to think about it. CarPlay is CarPlay. Works good unless it doesn’t. Sometimes you have to reboot the phone. Call quality is high. I’ll investigate the charge curve soon. Almost everything on all the screens is customizable. As always, excellent questions! Thanks for the feedback!

CarPlay is wireless, and pretty responsive (for wireless CarPlay, anyway). Can’t wait to reveal more!
Honda must be desperate to sell these if they took the fisker as trade in! Glad you've been able to move on! Ive watchef you since 2022, had an ocean reservation from may 2022, but cancelled and got a model y in feb 2023. SO glad i did that. Enjoy the honda, great cars but im intended i hearing how well theyve done with an ev!

I'm not a fan of OnStar or GM products. But, my first two cars were Hondas and I loved them. I'm interested in seeing how it will survive after a year or so.

Of the two, only Honda offers Apple CarPlay whereas GM has declined any future CarPlay.
@@markdthacker I believe GM also disables hotspotting. So you're forced to purchase their montly data plan subscription. I'm hoping Honda allows cellphone hotspotting, because I have 150gb 5G data plan I'd like to take full advantage of.
One more question Adam. Do you have to subscribe to Onstars data package to have access to in car navigation? Or are you able to hotspot data from your phone?
Great Question: CarPlay is available whether or not you have the data package. That’s the best route. OnStar is free for 3 years.
Thanks for the video. Curious, any V2L capabilities such as any 110v electrical outlets in the Prologue for running small appliances? Our current Mitsubishi PHEV has this and was a selling point of the Ocean as well.
Answered my own question: the Elite trim level includes a 110v outlet in the cargo area for v2L.
The Touring trim is all that was available for the launch, so no 110 outlet for me
Hope that this is the car that will be all you expect. One thing that will keep me from GM is their dropping of CarPlay to allow them to sell subscriptions for lesser functioning proprietary products. In the past I updated Adobe Photoshop when they switched to subscription model I have kept a 2013 MacBook Pro which can run my current Adobe products, there are new features I would like but I am not willing to enter the subscription model.
I understand. The Prologue does have CarPlay, thankfully. If you go to your adobe account where you purchased your photoshop, you can download that version on any compatible device. I hope this helps. Cheers!

Probably similar to Ocean sport like you had but not even close to an Exreme or Ultra performance wise.
It’s not even close performance wise. The extreme and ultra are have a massive amount of performance. The Prologue does have 2 keys, Auto high beam, Seat memory, google assistant, adaptive cruise control, a fully functional app, fast charge battery preconditioning, and one pedal driving. But, 0-60, it would get smoked.
Congratulations on your choice of appliance vehicle. Compliment, no slight. Some vehicle shoppers (EV-OG, Ocean One) wax poetically about design, asset light model, etc. while negating the vehicle short-comings or company malfeasance. At the end of the day, most drivers want no hassle, no drama transportation that's comfortable and performs well. Connie put a nix on the Ocean quickly after experiencing a very unsafe event. The wisdom of women!

Yes. I didn’t have a choice. I bought the only one there was within 1,000 miles the instant the got it.

I currently have a Honda clarity that’s been at the dealer for about a month because they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it granted it to plug-in hybrid but Honda is new to the EV game
At this moment, they’re just throwing parts at it. They replaced inlet tubes, inverters charging cables software updates pretty much everything except for the actual 17 kW battery has been replaced.

Once I get the clarity back I am trading it in for a used ID4 there are several in LA area under 25k so I can get the used EV credit. I feel comfortable with the used ID4 and I really like how they look

It does but truth be told I am over it. The clarity has been discontinued and I know it was never a super mass produced car while I like the idea of a plug-in hybrid reality is over the last three years. I just don’t really need the long range capability.
I do know that the Volkswagens have a very good charging curve so if and when I do need to road trip, I have a good option and Southern California. There’s plenty of chargers. ( for the most part)
Adam has there been any movement in the state of West Virginia in opening up MORE EV charging stations? I live in DC and I know that WV is an EV charging desert of sorts.
Nope. It’s better than 3 years ago, but only barely. There’s supposed to be NEVI funded chargers, but they do not exist yet

We just ended our i3 lease and are thinking the new Volvo Electric that is expected late Summer might be more her speed. I’m guessing 4Q is more reasonable for a non-reservation holder

Nice choice Adam. Having somehow survived the stages of Fisker grief and anger with your channel's help (and the EV OG), I've set about convincing my wife this is the vehicle to buy. Seems like the no-resistance route since she has an Odyssey and my older sons each have Accords. Would like Shane's input on whether this would be an acceptable vehicle for our soon-to-be 16-year-old to learn to drive given its size. Also interested in any intel you can gather on whether the vehicle might have hope of supporting GM's future V2H integration. My youngest son wants to know if you could also get a Korgi like on the Hammy and Maxine channel so I can get on board with one of those as well.
I’ll ask Connie about the Korgi, lol. I will see if there is any information on the V2H out there. The Prologue is a big car, so I think that’s a personal choice based on your 16 year old’s skill level. Shane likes the smaller cars. I like that it’s not an actual “first try” from Honda, and has GM support. This is my 9th Honda vehicle, so the brand loyalty is there for me. It ticks all the boxes, the most important one being the “they took my trade” box. Happy to answer any additional questions. Thanks for the feedback!

I would prefer something smaller too. Google maps is the default navigation, and runs full screen. Google assistant as well.

I haven't been a big fan of GM's Ultium platform, and clearly Honda - once an innovative car company - came late to the EV game and had to piggyback off of GM's effort. I expect that you got a pretty good deal though. Would be great if you could break down some numbers for us.

The problem with ev's, at least those not named tesla, is that a new design seems to come out every month and you'll always want to try the next one and the one after that...
At least that's my take, although I'm quite happy with my ev6 and I'm a little bummed about the new 2024 design, but I've read they have improved the features in the interior... Anyhow, I hope she enjoys her Honda, they are a reliable company so I'm sure it will be less of a headache than fisker.
The drives are no longer about the car. It’s like I have a chauffeur instead of an angry passenger
now that's a surprise - but might be a smart choice, since not many people will go for this one!

I agree with Car and Driver’s verdict that the Prologue is a competent EV but boring Honda. A single-motor powertrain is standard and makes 212 horsepower but a dual-motor, all-wheel drive setup is optional and is good for only 288 ponies. Wife would definitely like this, but coming from the horsepower that the Ocean delivers, this is a step down. Can’t do less with the exhilarating drive in the Ocean. Good luck with your adventures in the Prologue.

@Lightdog555 Actually, Honda had an EV out when the EV-1 was out. It seemed like a cobbled together attempt at an EV compared to the EV-1. It was also more expensive lease than GM's $400/450 lease (IIRC).

Can you clarify the total costs involved here? I'm not sure i see the logic behind losing all the money on the ocean and your model Y for similar or less features. Isn't this car nearly 50% more money?
Full retail on the Ocean trade. I’ve got a new EV to review from an owners perspective. Total costs coming. It’s not pretty. I bought the Ocean to review. I bought the Prologue to review. If this isn’t a business expense, there’s no sense to it at all, except being out from under the Fisker.

Great question: The ocean sport and the Prologue are almost exactly the same on acceleration. The Model Y is much faster. The Ultra/Extreme/One are another noticeable tier above that.
I wasn’t expecting Hummer H1 and Dodge Ram as cars she used to drive. We get a decent amount off Dodge Ram in Sweden. But they are almost always driven by men. Wish you good luck with the Honda.

I am glad you got a decent trade in value for your ocean. You will certainly be able make some content with this Honda as well. However, I still think you would have been better off with the Lightning, considering where you live. Plus, Ford gives you access to the Tesla network, whereas Honda could be a year or 2 away from getting access. Since you live in a charging dessert, I hope you thought about this. Still, Congrats
Great input! The lightning is nice, and the supercharger access is definitely a big deal. I didn’t plan on getting the Prologue at all until they offered me $25k. The stars aligned.

I've liked and owned several ICE Honda's (Pilot, Accord, Civic) and Acura's (MDX, TSX), but Prologue EV with 212 hp (FWD) / 288 hp (AWD) and range under 300 miles are lame.
The Model Y long range has 320, and it’s the most you can get in the segment. Ioniq 5 is 260. ID4 is 263. EV6 is 282. Nissan Ariya is 272. Q4 e-tron is 236. Mach-e extended range battery is 300-320. GV60 is 235-248. Have you ever owned an EV?
@@Aslash304 We owned an Ariya FWD with similar 200+ hp which was very smooth but underpowered - May consider the Ariya AWD with 380+ hp or M3 AWD with 390+ hp for my wife, and currently own a FOU (SW 2.0, luckily has been reliable without any major issue) AWD with 500+ hp and real world range approx. 310 miles which we both enjoy driving.

@Aslash304 - We've exchanged messages a few times, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your insights and this wild Fisker ride. I bought my Ultra in December, and today, I traded it in for less than half of what I paid. It was a tough decision, but as you've pointed out several times, the product had potential if only they could have delivered.
The uncertainty surrounding Fisker Inc. was just too much to keep waiting and hoping. I had to shell out another 20K for the car I replaced it with, making the whole experience-from start to finish with fees, taxes, and everything-cost me over 80K.
I really hope Henry realizes the impact he's had on those of us who trusted him. That's real, hard-earned money that I feel completely cheated out of. and i'm being nice by saying 'cheated'.

Wah!!!! I haven't been keeping up with your videos. The Fisker is gone. I am a little shocked. But after your crazy rant video I get it.
I would like to be the voice of calm and reason. I think Fisker actually wanted to make a go of his venture but he's a horrible business person giving jobs to family members who were completely incompetent. With respect to the ocean, I think it's a great looking car with a lot of little issues that could be solved if some big company were to take over the design and company. And I hope somebody does. But nobody who invested should think that means being saved. Whoever takes over if they do will wipe investors out. If you own one still, the people buying the remnants might support your car eventually. Not something to bet on though if you are not already an owner.
I followed Magna for quite awhile as a trader, and I knew they always talked about being a car manufacturer.... it's a shame they just don't take this venture over, call it a Magna Ocean and kick Fisker to the curb.
A shame you got screwed but I admire your honesty in your videos. The world need more people like you. Thanks buddy. (I hope this new start up called Honda doesn't fall apart on you)

@@Aslash304 not yet just saw some reviews with specs. Max charge rate is 155kw but realistically it's more like 128kw. Will probably take 45-50 minutes to charge to 80% I might be wrong will look forward to your test. 🤞🏼
