Lalo Schifrin is without doubt the best theme music composer I have ever heard. Just heard Barry Newman passed away at the age of 92, best tv character he played was Petrocelli between 1978 and 1979 shown in UK.
It ran for 2 seasons on the Wednesday 10:00PM timeslot in the 1974-75 and 1975-76 seasons respectively, "Starsky & Hutch" crushed it in the ratings during its second season (which might explain why the series got cancelled).

Loved this series when it aired in the UK. Petrocelli may have got beaten up in pretty much every episode, but he always got the killer in the end.
