  • The WMD Arpitecht was designed a few years ago and was originally conceived as a quantizer. We realized quickly that there was much more to be done with this concept and that it could be a powerful bass line and melody generator when used with the right equipment.
    In this video, Alex goes into use case for Arpitecht and how it partners well with the METRON eurorack trigger and gate sequencer. Starting with simple quantizing of an external sequence and then diving deep into arpeggio generation, how to use it to it's full potential to create cool, moving bass lines and melodies.

    Great video, Alex. I used your "run a gate through an attenuator" hack to transpose when I didn't have a second voltage sequencer.

    Thanks so much for the video. I’ve had the Arpitecht for a while, and I just learned some new stuff. And if this is a “basics” video, I’d love to see the advanced video too! Awesome module, and thanks again.

    Cheers Alex! I am digging the new video setup. Seeing the whole rack is much more intuitive. I think I'm sold on the Arpitecht. #PatchFromScratch

    I've recently been pairing marbles with arpitecht and voltage block with lovely results. Take an X generator into the notes input of arpitecht. Set the bias where ever sounds good, set the rate low and plug the voltage block into the spread. Put a fun sequence into the voltage block, then plug the Y generator into the clk/cv input, set the Y generator's rate low, bias around the middle and throw VB into cv mode. Then using the Y generators spread you can randomly/rhtymically move between the various VB setpoints to affect the spread of the notes the arpitecht is generating.

    Awesomw b ro. I always want to buy a Arpitecht after watching your videos, Then I see the demo video on Perfect Circut and change my mind. But I see it is as good as I thought and I will be buying it now! ( Replace the vimeo, video on Perfect Circut! its not very musical)

    Sick! I really dig this way of melodic sequencing. You said you keep slides down, but what if you wanted to incorporate some slides? Can you not do that with the patch you made?

    • @WMDevices
      @WMDevices  Před 5 lety

      You can use slides for sure! If you're resetting a bunch, then you may not be letting the slide rhythm get to the part where it slides as they are set built in rhythms BUT you can always just send another gate into the SLIDE input and intentionally make it slide whenever you'd like!

      @@WMDevices nice! you could really chew up a bunch of Metron tracks for the Arp, good thing there's 16.

    How you can add swing to the arpeggios?

    • @WMDevices

      You would just swing the gate pattern going into it!
