my guy can u tell us the controls for what your hitting idk what ur pressing for it
This isnt for absolute beginners but if you wanna know hes extruding it hes pressing e while selecting the verticies/the circles around the part you want to extrude
@lolzzzhaha2614 Only issue is that the video is called "beginner tutorial" and he has to explain the cube you start with in the viewport, which you very obviously wouldn't have to do for someone who isn't a beginner
@@SESAmbassadorOfBlahajs beginner has atleast a week of experience a newborn is the one that have no experience whatsoever

0:46, if you want a faster way, just import the image and hit Alt+G Alt+R, which will reset the position and rotation of the image
I'm a very skilled avatar creator in VRChat with a deep understanding of unity, but one thing I always wanted to learn is advanced blender work. I can use blender effectively for editing, splitting meshes, rigging simple objects, etc. but one thing I've always wanted to do is design my own gun and model a realistic version of it to use in game. Thank you!
Tengo una pregunta, cuando modelas un objeto con diferentes partes, al ponerlas juntas ¿se estan ´´pegando``?
Hey, the tutorial is great! If I can give a piece of advice, I suggest you to use the crease on the edges you want to render sharper. Another way is to use a bevel modifier and apply bevel weight to the edges that need to be sharper. In this way you can model the gun without having overlapped edges in a non distructive way.
Bro how did I never know about creasing edges. Bless you man
@@giannieditsvideos It happens... I began 3D in the far 2005 using Cinema 4D (switched to Blender in 2014). Cinema didn't have an edge crease at that time, and you had to use the Katana instrument to create loop cuts near the edges to sharpen the effect of the hyperNURB. With Blender, I discovered with pleasure these features. You can also use modifiers in the stack. For example, you can use the bevel modifier applied to a vertex group to create additional geometry near the edges you want to sharpen, and then add the subsurface modifier to smooth the edges.
@@MadquakeCreative Using Bevel modifier is probably better since it’s non destructive right?
@@giannieditsvideos they are both non destructive... Both Bevel Modifier and sharpen edges. The Bevel is harder to use as you have to define the vertex groups, but on the other hand you can assign different Bevel mods to different groups (some of them can be sharper and some more relaxed)...
I think it is worth mentioning that if you want to change to the wireframe shading like he did here at 3:10 or back to solid you can select the plane with left mouse button and hit z :) wasn't hard to find online but I did have to search it
ty
THATS THAT GUD SHIT
Thank you, I was so confused
ty
I watch 10 seconds of "tutorial for beginers" then pause to google stuff for 1 hour. repeat. It isnt realy for beginers, i hope. Becouse otherwwise im realy dumb
for future people who are in need of help and he doesn't explain wtf happened in 4:19, allow me to save your time, select the 2 dots you want and press e to make another plane ontop of it, and you can make it transparent (the plane) by pressing z.
bro you dont know how much i appreciate this comment man i wish you all the best for your life dude

Maybe tell us what button ur pressing?
every time i try to move the model, it somehow duped vertex on them self
i literally do nothing else than just ctrl r and move them around to match the shapeof my gun but still whenevr im selecting every vertex visible, when i move it, it start showing other vertex behind (and so the result is ugly obviously)
i can never properly move any part without having to check every single vertex by selecting it and use G to move out an extra vertex
which of course lag my pc and some time clicking once make me click twice, which might not help with the problem of duping vertexs
and its only in 2D, cuz whenever im extending from the 2D model, it start showing, random plane that aren't connected to the rest of the shape, random vertex that aren't connected to anything at all, and holes in my model that just appeared randomly
i don't know what cause this, im just using X and delete/dissolved verterx, to correct mistakes in the shaping of my gun
any idea ?
i did not make a perfect flat 2d piece of the gun, is there a way to get this all om the same parimiter ? to make it flat again?
Bro great info thanks saved me mad time 💪🏽keep it up
Thank you for the tutorial! Quick question, though, why did you choose to do loop cuts instead of subdividing? Are there pros and cons for either option?
Do you download the model for the imagine to popup or what? Not sure how you gonna get the imagine onto blender since not letting me
Great tutorial! I'm having an issue where when I add the subdivision surface, the top part of my gun frame is the only thing that seems to change. The grip of the gun stays the same. Can anybody tell me what I'm doing wrong? What i mean is the barrel looking part of the gun becomes more circular but the grip stays perfectly square. Both are just one Plane with extruded faces and vertices.
why did you use loop cuts instead of weights after the subdivision?
on sketchfab how to i get the model perfectly aligned on the axis
i know this video is old now by 2 years but i liked the tutorial i watched all vids before attempting it my self but i fell in to a problem my screen shot wont load it also is a png same as your screen shot any help to understand as am new to blender and not sure if i have to add anything or change anything in order to continue
for some reason when i extrude the gun the top half is bent. How do i get it to be flat?
when I press e it and drag the vertices it makes a square shape. How can I fix that?
how do you select the face thats inside the gun?
Awesome stuff thank you, this will help me tremendously!
how do you shape it to fit the box. this was so confusing :(
It's really helpful, btw can I ask at 5:40 why you used the proportional editing?
How do you make 2 more vertices?
why did you skip on loop cutting the front of the gun to make it flat?
i dont know how to do that
I am so confuse because when im take a screenshot the screenshot is in not my file? How do i fix it?because 5 days ago im reseting my pc.Sorry for the bad grammar.can u help me?
i have been learning blender, and it is much harder than i thought, but nice job! and this helped me

Can someone help whenever I extrude it goes of the axis in a different direction
Yo, why can’t I just make flat surfaces like you did. So I’m doing my own model of gun it’s a sniper. irrelevant, but thought I’d mention it. Anyways, I start with the hand grip. Just like you. But as soon as I start extending the plane to create a shape, it becomes warped. It’s no longer 2D. I want to make a 2D shape then Extrude the whole thing. So can you please tell me why I’m clicking the same buttons as you but getting a completely different result?? Not to mention, as soon as I change my view (drag my pointer to look at it from another angle) everything looks disproportionate to what I was intending in the first place. Idk about this app man…. If you or anyone else can help me I’d appreciate it. Getting really fed up here.
this is a very epic tutorial helped me so much
Thank you for this tutorial!
Very good tutorial that totally told me all the shortcuts he used
yep
Where are the exact reference images you use?
where is the link to the picture because the link is just a 3d model
CROWS ARE GOATS. Great video btw, thank you, I'm watching other videos too
at 1:36 how do you move the image
10mins it makes a double edge and if I merg them it breaks the subdivide model what do I do
Where can I find reference images
thank u so much for taking ur time with us I was able to follow Most of it and way better then all these Hotkey Junkies ''tutorials'' for ''beginners'' thanks again will be watching your next video now
hey u said u were making this for beginners. atleast tell us how u created another set of vertices
how can i do loopcuts?
can you share the reference screenshots ?
It would be nice if you would show how to select the thing at 4:34 or the shortcuts because I have no idea. Not trying to be mean, thanks for the tutorial regardless.
You need to select the vertices you want, then click e on your keyboard. Hope that will help
3:08 how didyou reduce the opacity
i dont get it i try to hit g and use loopcuts but its way too slanted no matter wha i do god damnit
Thanks for this!
Enable addon in blender "Import images as plane" makes that part very easy.
i cant import the images????
thank you man! very useful tutorial tho
After adding the modifier the curve effect on the model is only seen on the right sight whereas the left side is completely flat. Any reason why?
Hmm, try using Loop Cuts (Ctrl+L). Or maybe try Edit Mode > click 1 > select all vertices > M > Merge by distance. (Could be overlapping vertices)
why not just use bevel to make the edges as smooth/sharp as you want?
Love ur vids helped me a lot
WHAT DO YOU MEAN TAKE IT RIGHT UP???
Got a sub bro
How did you do that at 4:08?
Select edge click e
Really wish you said what you press to open the different things :/ Even the first menu at 0:34 it looks way different for me, idk the keybinds for it. :(
Again, watched further, it is unfortunate, but because I am a beginner and nothing is explained it is tough. Again at 4:11 when you start modelling, no clue how you extend it like that!
to extend it like that press e
exactly this is my problem too. he puts beginner in the title but dose did not explain so annoying worst teacher ever it like teaching math without explaining what he is doing he is just doing it in front of the class

yeah uhh how does loop cut work i try to use it and and its only doing things on the edges
Right after you click Ctrl+R, you can drag the loop cut around without your mouse before left-clicking to confirm. If you accidentally left clicked, you can move it again by 'gg' - edge slide.
thank you so much bro
man this is the best tutorial i ever found in youtube

how can you make the new edge in 4:11 ?
select edge > click e to extrude
how does he add in more edges, he hasnt said
hey at 8:47 when I extrude my pistol, It is only attached to two lines not all the parts of the plane. Is there a solution for this?
click 'a' to select all the vertices
I did that and I got the problem. I asked on a discord server and I found out that I had to press 'M' and select 'by distance'. Thanks for your reply though! It is greatly appreciated. Great tutorial by the way.
How did you make that plane look clear? I forgot most of the keybinds.
It's Alt+Z bro. Thanks for watching

@@techcircle1178 how do you turn the mesh into a solid?

Excuse me but where's the reference image? I couldn't find the link to download it, there's only one for the 3D model download.
He wants you to take a screenshot and convert that to png and then use it yourself lmao
so in efficient ideally you want to find a flat reference of each side
3:43 how do u mow edges like that ?? im rly stuck at that part
'gg' for edge slide
@@techcircle1178 ohh thank you !
So I'm a tad confused. I like this tutorial, but around 8:38 and looking at the wireframe, I've always been told it's supposed to "flow with the shape". It seems like you did that around the trigger guard, but not the back and around the fishtail of the gun. Can you tell me which parts need a flow and which don't?
For me it is more helpful to think in terms of Flat Hard surfaces. Identify the faces that need to be flat and use loop cuts to flatten them out. Leave out the 'flowy' sections. In the end, you will get whatever shape you want. So in this case, the all the y-axis-facing faces need to be flat.
Plz more tutorials like that Maybe try to make character for some game for exanple an Call of duty Warzone Character ?
bro put that option so that it shows what you press begginers just like me wont know every shortcut man
you said this was a beginner tutorial but did not tell us controls. like how tf do I move 1 vertice from the square I can move and rotate all 4 corners but not 1 giving us controls would be great
i found it out all i have to do is press g.
omfg then your now adding more vertices without telling us the controls BRO I'm here to learn the basics like you said this was for but you don't tell us the controls?
like wtf is he doing 4:12 somone please tell me what to press
Do you own crows?
What's the shortcut to shape it?
Edit: Like to make curves.
Click 'O' (proportional editting). You should see a big circle. If you don't, it's because the circle is so big and out of your screen. scroll your mouse button wayyy down. Play with the scroll to edit how much you want to curve your vertices. :)

how do you do the thing at 4:10.

thank you i realised that the problem was that i was holding shift down when pressing "e".
How you slide it? 9:50

Instead of using edge slides for all of the flat surfaces, I think it would be better to use the mean crease tool.

You see those x,y,z on the top right corner? click on one of them and your view should snap to that view. OR press down 'alt' and move your view by holding down the middle scroll button.
