#Blender #gamedev #fps - Jak na to + styl
I spend 3 hours making a crappy Glock model and this guy comes along and just makes me look like a baby at blender
thanks harry potter
This is the best blender tutorial i've seen ever. before this i couldn't make a simple table now i've learnt to make such advanced things which seemed impossible before. Thanks so much! your channel is very underated for this great content
Love it. Thanks potter. I mostly loved your human modelling and cloth modelling.
Do I make games? No. Do I use blender? No. Did I watch the entire video? Yes.
lol
it isnt a speed run bro calm down teach us where everything is holy crap
Bro it isnt a beginner blender tutorial its a glock tutorial. Learn the basics first.
This isnt a class on how to use blender, its a video showing how to model a gun. If you want to learn all the basics on how to use blender, I recommend the blender donut tutorial. If you want a tutorial for the software, dont start watching tutorials for making objects
@@stefanvuji236 i dont think it matters, people want to see all the details of how to make a model, not see a guy do it 2x speed
@BorrelTrein idk man, im pretty new to blender, and I was able to make a model in about 20 mins
@@stefanvuji236 me too, and i was able to make a similar gun model to this one, but i had to slow the video down for 1/2. its just that this guy is clearly trying to make a video for beginners, but he just goes WAY too fast
Well done, what a great tutorial!
I never knew about edge-sliding, I used to press 'G' and manually move the vertices!
Thanks for the tips! Im currently working with a friend to make out own video game. This helps out a TON!
Glad to hear it!
Great tutorial, thank you so much!
Thank you, helped me for my first weapon model! :-)
Used this in order to learn how to model in blender- super helpful!
LETS CHAT IM NEW 2 BLENDER
Thx this helped so much i subbed
could you give me a link to the picture of the barrel, please
3:47 I am getting double lines here so I can't bevel the bottom part, can please tell me what I did wrong? Thanks!
Thanks, I had a few problems because you were going really fast and you werent really explaining everything, but otherwise great video!
how do i find that image ?:/
great tutorial, keep grinding man!
Appreciate it!
Thanks so much jynxsi
hey, can you provide a reference image?
6:41 how do you connect the vertices lol u did it way to fast
thanks
this took me like an hour and 20 minutes bro i havent made stuff in a week but still 😭
haha when i was googling for a reference i found both of your references first try by accident haha lol
Yeah, that's because I grab the first good quality images when looking for reference.
@@ThomasPotter yeah me too
Bro looks like Sid from Toy Story 1
im a complete newbie when it comes to blender, i understand that this tutorial is ment for more experienced people but a little guidence wouldnt hurt, like telling us what buttons you are pressing, when i added the mirror modifier the mirrored object didnt look anything like whats on your screen, im stuck and i dont know what im doing. the mirrored object spawned instead of it being in the middle of the gun reference and the original half cube, it spawned on the side of my half cube and it sort of clipping throughmy object. what do i do?
Hey man! im a begginer too and had the same problem, i fixed mine by changing the axis of the mirror. I think its worth trying
This is true if you start on the wrong side, later your mirror will be on the wrong axis. You have to start in side view then make it so that the x axis is across
Thank you for this video, i made my first gun! Hey, request: Can you make a video on making a city with buildings and roads using geo nodes?
I'll see, in the future I'm planning to make videos on environments. Not sure if using geo nodes makes sense because most people are game devs so making modular buildings and placing them yourself makes more sense.
@@ThomasPotter Thank you for the reply! I’ll be looking forward to that as I’ve been trying to create a world for my persona
Great tutorial so far however, when i try and bevel the gun its beveling the inside and not the outside any reason why?
same problem have u found a solution ?
Yup, still having the same issue :/ @ThomasPotter any idea what we're doing wrong? I've followed it like 8 times, recreated from the ground up, but beveling the bottom of the upper receiver never works
cutting the cube was harder than the actual thing💀
Just use auto mirror
Nice
You sometimes do fast and random movements, keybinds that i cant follow.
I couldnt do the joining edges thing it just wasnt working
im having this same problem😭
hello i'm liking thet tutorial but i'm having a problem when you try to make the gun a little less width you use g + x but for me it dosen't work it just moves the cube so i dont know how to make the gun less width like you do if you dont understand what i mean this is the minute youre doing the thing that gives me problem 2:37
the reason I'm able to just drag it in inwards is because i have the mirror modifier with clipping on
Press S, X
2:35 is confusing like idk how he made it smaller
this seems less like a tutorial and more like him just voicing his thoughts due to how fast he's going
I swear like no hate to him but damn we aren't professionals like you
@@2KA1D3 I never said I'm a professional, but rather, the complete opposite. I've made a total of 3 models and the wireframes look like any Blender user's nightmare.
Impossible to keep up with, I didn't even know what half the keys you pressed was.
he has a plugin showing what keys he presses in the bottom right corner
6:40 my J key doesnt do anything i try to join them but nothing happend soemone knows why?
(it says invalid selection order)
do you only have two vertices selected? Selecting three or more is the only way I can recreate the error
Why do you use a mirror modifier?
Save's doing half the work, whats the point of making a symmetrical model without a mirror
@@ThomasPotter 👌 thanks for the reply
So how are you post to code it?
No idea, You could rig and animate it and play the animation each time you shoot
I wish people who do these tut's put a link to the image bro
Just look for an image for your own gun you want to make. Why do you have to use mine?
There are a lot of good references on Google images. It's not that hard to find.
you killed the camera... how could you?
bro how do you grab '-'
i mean select the parts
at 0:43 you did the verticle thing i only see subside
subdivide*
@@norralis it's ctrl r for Edge Loop
@@ThomasPotter thanks
6:46
?
THIS IS BAD WHAT IS EEEWAAA 5:44
SOOOOO HELPFUL EEEWAAA
E+Y to extrude and lock it to the Y axis
@@ThomasPotter thx
following step by step and it still doesnt match up at parts... This is why i can never learn blender im so frustrated. for one when i upload the refence image its not flat. it shows up on an angle but the cube comes in flat or normal. so it messes up everything. SO BNASICALLY CANNOT EVEN START. UGH. ya this isnt for beginners. you skiptoo many basic steps and now im totally lost. i dont blame you but im jsut irritated
Yes this is not absolute beginners tutorial.
As for the reference image, I add it in from side view so that it comes in flat, you can also just select your image and press alt + r to reset the rotation and then rotate it to whatever angle you want with R + (the angle you want to rotate on, x y z) + the number - 90 deg.

you go to fast and dont tell what your doing to hard to follow
Too fucking fast Sherlock
terrible tutorial, you doing a speedrun or something?
terrible tutorial, do not recocmend
why? what can i improve on?
@@ThomasPotterthe tutorial was good, even for a beginner, it helped me tremendously, the only thing I needed to get from another tutorial is how to do the ejection port
way to fast, shitty tutorial for new people
thanks
