This is Why People Hate the Luxor Buffet in Las Vegas

- In this video we visit the Luxor Buffet. Although it's a cheap buffet, it has the reputation of being the worst buffet in Vegas. I think I gave it a fair shot, but I would much rather go to the Excalibur at that price point. With that being said, a cheap meal is hard to come by on the Las Vegas Strip so if you're not a picky eater, the Luxor buffet is still a great option when visiting Las Vegas.

WOULD YOU GIVE THE LUXOR A TRY? 🧐 ✅ Drop a comment to help the video!🎥
I'd try it but we normally stay at Flamingo so it's kind of far.
I stayed at Luxor an entire week ate the buffet once that entire week and the other 6 days ate Popeyes at Excalibur
Bruh... All that food looked like dirty butthole. I'd rather spend $20 at a local diner and get one serving of a made-to-order, quality-ingredient meal. That paper-thin bacon, poop-sausage and powdered eggs are the same ones you get for free at a Holiday Inn.
I'll have some of the yellow, and don't get cheap on me. No, I would not try it
No Coke products? What else are they cutting corners on?
Some of those funky food choices reminded me of the buffet in the Vegas Vacation movie… “I'll have some of the yella'... and don't get cheap on me.” 🤣
😂😂
😆"You're right, this isn't chicken...this is chicken. Want some?" 🤢
Hahaha, yo I was thinking that same thing. Then at 11:59 when he says the cone tasted like blue i busted out laughing.
Might be what they were going for! 😆😆😆
Thank you for the review! I appreciate your honesty and although I haven't been to the Luxor Buffet I'll trust that the food is just average. What really makes me not interested in this buffet is the dark lighting and the tomb like decor. I like bright surroundings with flowers and interesting and colorful fixtures. Thanks again for sharing your experience!
Nice to see a buffet that keeps its theme and has some character...too bad the food doesn't live up to the hard product. Thanks for the honest review, Jorge enjoyed it.
Agreed. It is themed as an archaeological dig site and wasn't blanded out like other MGM properties were. The buffet used to be named Pharaoh's Feast, which is more fitting though.
As an Oregonian, I couldn't care less about "ambiance". I'd sooner pay top dollar to stand outside of a food cart, in the rain, eating out of a paper cup, as long as that food was legit something the chef's grandma would be proud of. No way I'd pay $30 to eat the same powdered eggs and paper thin bacon you can get for free by staying at a Motel 6.
@@Phyde4ux thats a bit of an exaggeration
@@Phyde4ux Well, another confirmation that Oregonians are fools.
@@Phyde4ux Maybe a Days Inn. All you’ll get at Motel 6 is coffee.
Go to Luxor for the renovated rooms but head over to Excalibur for the cheap buffet 😂
Better yet stay out of both shitholes
Cheap and buffet are two words I don't want to see used in the same sentence
@@ryanweston9677 it’s what you get at Excalibur and Luxor, can’t deny that
Absolutely agree. We went to Excalibur buffet first and we’re quite impressed, went to Luxor on our last day and yea… this video is accurate. Only good thing was the coffee tbh 😂
@@ryanweston9677 I just don’t use the word buffet at all. Ever
Nice video Jorge. I always appreciate your honesty. Can’t wait for your next video or livestream!🤩
Nice video Jorge. I always appreciate your honesty and can’t wait for your next video or better yet a livestream!🤩
Great video bro! I appreciate the honesty. Can’t wait for the next video
The food didn't look too good! Good job on the video and review. You keep it honest and real! Thank you Jorge!
Thanks Chris!
I've had better looking mess hall food. Maybe the photography?
TY FOR THe HONEST REVIEW, I liked and subbed
That buffet looks pretty rough. For $30 they can definitely keep it.
As a Vegas Vlogger, this video was right on! Great insight. Thanks for sharing.
I appreciate the honest review.. Subscribed.
fantastic review and i love your honesty
Excellent presentation. Nice work!
first time viewer love your honest reactions to the taste of the food. I love well done crispy bacon not burnt...
great review honesty is appreciated Cheers
I love your full command of English and Spanish! You enunciate both perfectly.
Thank you for all your info
Love the multicam setup. Nice video.
Nice to visit along! It's a bit of a shame that they don't put more attention to their buffet.. it has so much potential. But great video once again!
Really enjoyed your video. I like your style 👍
All that food looked absolutely disgusting 🤢
Thanks for taking one for the team
My sis and I have been avid Vegas buffeteers for 20+ years…I really enjoyed your great take on the Luxor buffet!
That green stuff reminded me of that scene… Vegas Vacation when Eddy takes Clark to the best $1.49 buffet. They have a choice between the yellow and the blue stuff. 🤣🤣🤣
“And don’t get cheap on me!”
😂😂😂
“I’ll have some of the yella.” 😆
“Mmmmm. This bread pudding is extra runny, tonight.” (Sorry, can’t stop quoting the buffet scene!)
@@donaldb5176 🤣🤣🤣 that segment from the movie is hilarious! Will always live rent free in my head 😆
Years ago, I remember getting the Luxor breakfast buffet a few times when it was under/around $10. Back then it was decent value, but for $30 it just seems overpriced. Thanks for the review!
Fiesta resorts had $9.99 dinner buffet as high as up to 2018 year, which ran a long time until inflation hits in.
Yea I remember the Luxor back in early 2000 when it was new now is the ghetto hotel on the strip, inside, and with customers to match, don't go there.
@@vietnamvet4533 thanks brother was headed too Vegas..in 2 weeks too the luxor..wife never been..on your word will not do the luxor..thanks again!
@@martenkrueger8647 You are welcome enjoy the place it is great! Try NY NY or Mandalay Bay if you and you wife like the water can't bet Mandalay Bays wave pool, if you stay ask for the free lounge chairs.
Thank you for sacrificing yourself. You have saved me from eating plain buffet food at Luxor.
well, I'll disagree with you. that was a bit less than what I eat and you ate it all my friend. In the name of science. I was there the weekend of June 10th, enjoyed it better than Excalibur. At ex. the food was cold, meat over cooked but the dessert bar, heaven. Luxor theme was the high light. food selection was more than plenty for brunch, loved the omelet station. food was not cold and the whole crew very professional and courteous. I like them both for what they are, budget.
thanks for video
You review was better than I thought it would be, the decor alone inside the Luxor 👍👍👍
Glad I overdelivered hahaha
@@Vegas-Must-Try its the lil details that you. Provide that I catch. Some others dont mention at all. Thanks for the info
Bro dope channel I dig ur reviews but what about the clubs?? What area the best night spots??
I couldn't contain my laughter at 11:59 when he said the cone tasted like blue.
We ate there in May on a 2 for 1 deal, and we liked it. It's not the Wynn Buffet, but it met our expectations for a good meal. Clearly you are a foodie and should dine at restaurants that meet/exceed your expectations. Try a higher price point, and there is a nothing wrong with that. We dined at the Top of Binions and the Golden Steer in May....both were very good. Cheers!

You don’t have to be a foodie to appreciate quality lol some people are used to lower/higher standards still the quality is there or it isn’t
I love Golden Steer!!!

Nice video George
Great review. I like your down-to-earth attitude, and the extra expertise with the Mexican food is appreciated. I'm in LA and I've noticed that my favorite restaurants in the Valley have had a hard time with quality the last 2 years, but most (the ones still in business) are making a comeback. The Asian buffet near me went way down (pre-covid it was fantastic), but I still go back and am careful about what I choose and still feel I'm getting my money's worth ($25).
All the food trucks and street taco vendors are taking their business.
Thanks, Jorge! I doubt I would try the Luxor buffet. I went to the Excalibur buffet in January and it did not agree with me one bit so that was a "one and done" deal for me. I'll have to check your videos to see if you tried the MGM Grand buffet. I've never really heard much about that one. I DO want to try SouthPoint's Garden buffet on my next trip, in about a month. Keep up the good work!!
Another good video my dude July 9th weekend
Coming from the Midwest we loved the Luxor breakfast buffet. We went on a Friday, the food was whatever but the fresh fruit was amazing. Easily ate $20 of fresh fruit. Way better than most of what we have in Nebraska. For the price it’s not terrible at all.
Looks gross and underwhelming, dude
So it looks like buffets are reopening in Vegas after everything. That’s good. Gonna try and go to one while I’m out there next month. It’s been so long since I’ve been to a Vegas buffet. I personally think Flavors that used to be in Harrahs was an amazing buffet
Before the pandemic, I'm thinking about 2018, I bought the 24 hour deal where you had the choice of buffets from Paris, Planet Hollywood, Cesars, Rio and not sure if others were involved. Cost like $65 per wristband. Great price then considering the prices now. Had Breakfast at Planet Hollywood, late Lunch at Rio and finished with late dinner at Paris. Gained some weight for sure! LOL
Great Video.
Had this buffet March 2020 and it's wasn't bad at all! Overall have been there twice and both times the food was good!
I just discovered your videos & am loving your honest reviews and your cute glasses! Anyone ever tell you that you looks like you could be Fleury’s Latino cousin? :)
I totally agree. I had decent expectations having never been there but it was horrible (their buffet). Stuff left out for such a long time and just low quality food
We'll be at the Luxor in October.... Really can't wait
I trust your judgment. Anyway I love your videos and keep up the good work. God Bless!
I appreciate that! Thanks for watching
Nice food video
My wife and I honeymooned in Vegas 25 years ago next door at the Excalibur. The buffet at Excalibur sucked so bad that we checked out the Luxor and ended up eating there a couple more times during our trip. It was awesome back then. The thing is, watching your video, that little has changed there in 25 years ago. It looked EXACTLY like it looked 25 years ago.
Like a sketchy dive?
Terrible, Luxor buffet has always been gross. I lived in Vegas for awhile- Do you remember when Excalibur had that Prime Rib Restaurant. At the time maybe 20 years ago it was the best in Vegas..
@Bob's Tabletop Sports . . . Ah! I dined once at Excalibur's buffet back in 2000. I thought I was going through a US Army mess hall chow line. I've eaten at US Naval Air Stations' mess halls with better quality food offerings than what I experienced at the Excalibur in 2000.
oh wow i heard you say "portuguese sausage" is that fairly common/known thing there? nice 🙂
It's worth the 10 minute walk to eat Excalibur's buffet if you're staying at the Luxor and are dead set on a buffet. A little advice for whoever is reading: some of the items are common no mater if you eat at the MGM Grand, Excalibur, or Luxor buffets. If all you're going to eat is the breakfast items, pizza, or country fried steak, get it wherever it's closer or cheaper. Stuff like the specialty dishes and carving stations get better as you go up from Luxor to Excalibur to MGM Grand.
I'm right with you on the no sushi at buffets rule. Not a bad price but not good either.
I respect that you try to not waste it.
This is a fair assessment. My impression, too. It’s a pity that Luxor was pretty good when I brought my mom there in 1999. Visited there a few times afterwards and things started to go downhill.
I used to love the Luxor. I've stayed there a dozen times. Glad they've renovated, will be back.
Seems like only the breakfast and the desserts were good, and that verde. Good to know. My gf and I were going soon, and staying at the Luxor. Think we'd only do breakfast there and go other places for dinner. Thank you for the video!
Not sure if it's intentional but you're actually pretty funny. Entertaining to watch.
I got so hungry😋watching.
That was the most adorable pronunciation of “Anubis” ever lol
Thanks for being honest
Do they add more items or upgraded items on the weekend for the extra $3?
Omg that food looks bomb af all my favorites
Been in the business for 20 years, worked countless holiday buffets and Sunday Brunch's. That food looks overcooked, inedible and understocked. In the industry, you can always cook more per request but you can't un-cook meat. Hard to believe that there is little to no cleanliness maintenance on the guest side of the line.
Thanks for the insight bro
We have eaten at the Luxor Buffet a few times, as well as the Excalibur. They are pretty much the same food with the exception of the Luxor serving the same tomato bisque that they serve at Tournament of the Kings show at Excalibur. We always get a 2-4-1 deal at these two locations, and the food is not always the best; However there is plenty of items to choose from to get your money's worth. Obviously you can get better food choices at the more expensive buffets down the Strip. I would not call this the worst buffet in Vegas; There are definitely worse places in my opinion.
$30 for a buffet ain't cheap for a small mediocre menu with subpar food. The strip used to have great buffet deals back when buffets were part of the casinos' enticements. Now, they've gotten greedy. Everything in the casinos has to be a money maker, e.g., resort fees, parking fees, etc. Just about everything on the strip is a ripoff, except for the free drinks while you're gambling.
The Rio used to be a B+, now a C-, The Luxor has the same ratings to me. The A was at the Sunday Brunch at the Belazio. The other A was at the M but not rated now as it has been a year.
Whoa, that’s Samurai soft serve from Hawaii! Don’t know how they got that because I thought is was something you could only get there… it’s definitely it’s own thing we call guri guru in Hawaii and not generic vanilla soft serve, but it’s a taste of old Hawaii and great… 🙌🏻
My buddy got severe food poisoning from the Luxor buffet. Literally happened the first day we got there and he didn’t start feeling better until the night before we left. At the point he wanted to go party all night but we were all severely hungover from the rest of the trip
Same here. After eating at Luxor Buffet I was sick as a dog in my hotel room for two days.
Just like in Egypt! Dysentery!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts...I will pass on the Luxor buffet LOL!
I've eaten there several times and have always been very happy with it.
Low standards?
Awesome
we tried a few of the basic buffets at the hotels in vegas last time I was there but honestly for the price, we all like golden corral more than luxor and I think we also tried excal
You are right, but there's not golden corral in Las Vegas Boulevard
I rarely venture south of Tropicana so I wouldn't know. Bellagio, Wynn's and Main Station are my usual buffet. I also go to California's breakfast buffet, but mainly for the Portuguese sausage.
The best buffet I ever went to was at the Isle Of Capri casino in Blackhawk, CO. Everything was totally delish.
We ate at the Luxor Buffett several years back and thought it was good. Things may have changed. But, we also come from a small area in the middle of PA so probably any Vegas Buffett is going to seem better than anything we have here lol
I guess you get what you pay for right?! Thanks for the video Jorge I felt disappointed while you were eating the food lol
Buffets are hit and miss anywhere you go. To truly 'Test' the quality and flavor of each dish, one needs to get that dish as it is being put out. THAT is when the dish/serving is supposed to be at it's best. After 10 minutes on the buffet, the dish has continued to cook, driving off any subtle flavors and drying out the food.
Buffets are the 'fast food' of fine dining you grab a plate and serve yourself in minutes rather than waiting for a server, getting a drink, ordering, etc. How many non-Vegas buffets serve Tiramisu? Casino buffets are built to feed hungry gamblers, not food connoisseurs, they want you in and out of the buffet and back on the gaming floor losing your mortgage payment....
So in your opinion, price & quality, what buffet is best? (Tried South Point last time, Dad liked it but my nephew & I were disappointed)
I would head downtown to Main Street Station. Of course being a Stations Casino employee I get a discount but really? The food is pretty darn good for the price. I cannot remember if you have hit this spot lately but if not give it a go. The ambiance is pretty cool to with all of the history in the fixtures.
Wow you liked everything about the Luxur buffet except the food bro nice.
Back in 2000 ~ 2002 the Luxor buffet was known as "The Pharaoh's Pheast."
But, Gee! The selections and plainness of the food offerings has gone downhill from 2002. But, for an open buffet to be found in Vegas when coming out of the Pandemic, one cannot be too picky with what is offered.
Down bad haha
When you said brisket and Mexican food, I was thinking of building your own brisket Taco bar...
And then you said that it was leather...
True story: My friend had an accidental discharge with his .357 Magnum while staying in the Luxor. Luckily it didn't hit anybody or break any glass. I can't imagine what one of those panels would have cost. He shot the bottom of his suitcase but never could find the bullet.
Pro tip observation: I was in the room directly connected to him and I never heard a sound. From a .357 Magnum fired 10 feet away. I heard nothing.
Stayed there right before 4th July weekend looks better than what we had on a weekday! To much money for a breakfast
I’d go to the Luxor buffet for the aesthetics, as I’m very interested in Ancient Egypt. I don’t like the look of the food though.
True. I would come back but not in a hurry
I have eaten at the luxor buffet great selection of food always hot & fresh my wife and I really enjoy the meals and atmosphere there ,no complaints
When visiting Luxor I was thinking of eating at their buffet but decided against. However I did book their Fantasy topless show. While in Las Vegas I mostly ate at Denny's.
Yep easier to eat at the fast food joints if not having high level buffet
Are you related to Steve-O also i haven't found flan at any buffet so just for that might need to snag a bogo or something lol
us bottle service girls go to the 2nd floor at 4am and get all the free leftovers before morning shift 🤣🤣
That doesn't not sound like a bad deal LOL
I would have to say that the AYCE buffet at the palms is by far the best for the price and the quality of food.
The last time I went to the buffet at Luxor was back in 2001-2002. It wasn’t very good back then either.
Agree been there once in my life with family n that’s enough
I ate at the Luxor buffet back in the 90's. Got food poisoning, and spent two days in the hotel room sick as a dog!
Buffets used to be cheap so people had more money to gamble. Now everything is overpriced and they have even started to charge for parking. Just some of the reasons I won't be going back to Las Vegas anytime soon.
Blue ice cream? Yes please. 😎
pretty cool huh?
Is the Circus Circus buffet still rocking ?
We ate there and agree. The presentation is lacking and the decor is dated but the food was good enough and enough variety for us. Wouldn’t go back but we didn’t get sick either.
Looks like fancy Golden Corral. No wonder people hate it. I remember these types of buffets existed but it was cheap.
only thing you really didnt seem to like was the tomato soup lol. everything else you seemed to enjoy. your after take opinion seemed to be a little different than your in moment take. idk, maybe im wrong 🤷♂
Classic case of selling out in order to fit in with the “cool crowd”
I’ve stayed at the Luxor about 4-5 times in the past 20yrs. and the Luxor buffet is freaking Good! Just like you saw in the video! Good!
This guy lost my respect.
Excalibur is much better I agree !
You Vegas Vet would know!
