I don't even blame Aldo for some of the few losses he's had
for example some of them are against fighters who are insanely bad match-ups for him, like I think when it comes to skills as a fighter Aldo is better than Max but Max can't get knocked out and can just stay in front of you and spam shots and Aldo's power and speed are meaningless when Max is bigger than him and can take brain damage for days and still win, what can he do when his opponent has unlimited cardio and health?

If I was Aldo's coach I'd be having him running distance runs every damn day. At the very least Dede should bring him somewhere to train at altitude. At this stage of the game the only one that has really ever beaten Aldo .......was Aldo himself. Honestly just give him to Nick Diaz for 3 months. Nick could have him run like he's training for a marathon. His kickboxing needs very little refinement. He's thrown the Dutchie probably 10,000 times in practice.....like bruh yea your an ace, just turn up the cardio, go back to throwing more leg kicks and he could be unstoppable again.

only time I wasn't a fan of Pederneiras was when Aldo fought Holloway both times. Aldo wasn't having success at Holloway's range and kept stepping into the pocket to land but Holloway kept stopping him with the long end of his jabs. Pederneiras didn't switch up the game plan and unbelievably, told Aldo to double down and keep moving forward and pressuring Holloway, which already wasn't working as we could all see. it was one of the dumbest corner moments I've ever seen from him and it was exactly what got Holloway the finish. because of Pederneiras sending him straight into the same punches Holloway was consistently landing the whole fight without a real game plan. I respect everything Pederneiras has done for Aldo but he has never shown that he's a coach that knows how to adapt Aldo's style to the reach of much longer and taller guys. he shouldn't be beyond criticism for that. all that said, he's a guy who has changed the lives of alot of kids in Brazil and kept them off the streets and for that, he is a great person who deserves alot of praise.
