    This is a great how to video. I really like how you didn’t spend 20 minutes at the beginning talking about irrelevant stuff pertaining to the task at hand. That is something Americans love to do. Great job!!

    Great video. I have a slow leak on my ml250 om651 and I usually top off the coolant during the winter when the low coolant light comes on. After this video I'm definitely going to do the job myself but I had a question. The oem pumps come with the entire housing/assembly. Is it really necessary to change the entire assembly? Thanks!

      @HOWTODO0828  Před 5 měsíci

      Thanks you for watching and supportingy channel, you don't have to replace the entire assembly, you could just replace the part I replaced in the video and you will be good to go, just follow my steps and make sure to not overtight the little screw from the water pump and everything will be safe. Good luck my man.

    Can you just replace the pulley from the tensioner?

    • @HOWTODO0828
      @HOWTODO0828  Před 24 dny +1

      Yes, you can replace it separately but I don't recommend because the tensioner it's loosing the tension strength over time and it will not work how it's supposed to work. The belt will get lose and probably will slip off...

    Hey man. I have a question, does this pomp make a roaring when slowing down? Mine needs to be changed asap and I hope this sound came from it.

    • @HOWTODO0828
      @HOWTODO0828  Před 2 měsíci

      I'm not sure, the water pump it's driven by the transmission belt and it's moving faster or slower depending on the vehicle rpm. If you decrease the vehicle speed but not the rpm the noise you hear it's not really from the water pump. It can be from other guidance rools or from the belt tensioner.

    I cannot see if your old pump is switchable or not. And it looks like your new one is non-switchable/vacuum controlled as well ??

  • @utube521
    @utube521 Před 9 měsíci

    over 100K km... wow! mine has over 315k km and the pump is still very good. same model, 2014, e-klasse, or is this w/s 213?

      It depends from car to car and how it's used and also it's important to use the right type of antifreeze for your specific car

    sorry -no one use the tread lock on screw -why ?

    • @HOWTODO0828
      @HOWTODO0828  Před 2 měsíci +1

      It's not recommended to use thread lock on screws wich goes it any aluminium part because there it's a risk or destroying the threads when removing the bold.

  • @utube521
    @utube521 Před 9 měsíci

    8:40 - 15 nm for guide pulley not enough, Merc. WIS says 25Nm.

  • @utube521
    @utube521 Před 9 měsíci

    7:10 - 15nm is too much. Mercedes WIS says 9 Nm for all these bolts/screws. don't do 15. you may brake the bolt and then you'll have to drill it out - hell of a job, even if you have the right tools :) ... Mercedes designs bolts in such a way, that if U overtorque it, than the bolt will crack before the thread inside the block, which is clever but one has to be very careful.

    • @HOWTODO0828
      @HOWTODO0828  Před 9 měsíci

      I wasn't sure about how much torque will need for those bolts but since I reused the old ones I wanted to make sure it's holding in good so I won't have any problems in the future.
