Today on Let Dirt Fly, Marshall installs S3 Powersports 2" Stretched Trailing Arms on his 2020 Can-Am Outlander 650 XMR! He goes over the installation process, from taking the quad apart, the tools needed to complete the job, as well as the reinstallation of the new extended arms!

S3 Power sports has some great after market designed parts. I installed a set of +2" trailing arms about 6 months ago. I had the same bearing issue as you did. I had a .013 interference on one side and a .011 on the other side. (you should have a .0015 - .0025) There was no way I was going to press in new bearings. I'm a mechanic / machinist, and have access to a machine shop. I took care of the issue myself. I removed the old bearings and checked them. There was a .004 interference from factory. (really tight) Now I got room for the 31x8.5x14 EFX Motohavoks. And then I said "what the hell" so I did the front A Arms too. (install on Minnesota XMR) Keep making the videos. Glad I found this. Its the only how to replace rear tailing arms video on the internet! (That I could find without a forensics team anyway) Shout out from Minnesota!
Probably the best Atv CZcams channel
It's a good rule of thumb to press on the outer race when installing new bearings to prevent damage.
Your videos are very fun to watch keep up the great content!
a friend got me the footwells from lucky seven. At first i didnt like the look but i save a lot of time cleaning it at least.
They work great I have had mine for a few years now no problems with axles mine is also an 650 xmr too
Great job. Shows the real deal. Thanks
That’s the way to go 👍🏻👍🏻
Looks good, hopefully axles hold up with more aggressive angle.
nice upgrade, projects never go the way you think
Great video!!
Nice stuff …dads getting a 2021 can am 850 outlander today 300 kms on it
A little trim and good to go
See I was like JUST BUY THE FOOT WELLS, but know I see why you didn't and agree 💯👍❗
now you need front ones lol
Dang need those for my 21 850
Why not get cfab with 2” lift and stretch for rear and for the from patv with the same
just got my 2022 outlander 850 xmr and am looking to get extended arms to clear 32s, was curious as to how they are holding up and what the cons to them are if any
So far they're holding up great! I currently have 32" Motohavoks and they clear no problem in the rear. I still need to do the forward front A-arms. The only cons I can think of is that they weigh more then the stock arms. Probably a good 10 lbs each more. The other con was during the install, the wheel bearings were a pain to press in. Id definitely recommend honing out where the bearing goes slightly so the install will go much smoother.
Did you measure it before and after you fitted them… Im curious to see if it did give it a 2” lift
It’s not a lift this is a stretch. The ride height stays the same. For a 2” lift we recommend Perfex Industries. You can use our code “Letdirtfly10” to save 10%
What’s the name of your band? You guys on Spotify or anything like that?
Years Apart. yes we are. plus google play and apple. There are 2 Years Aparts though. the other is metal. Our last album was Welcome to the Revolution
You don’t have to remove trailing arms to replace axles. Remove shock, sway bay and drop down all the way and should come out from hub.
I’ve only been able to do that on gen 1 can ams. I tried that before on my G2 and there’s still 3” of axle in the bearing when fully dropped out with everything disconnected. I’m not sure if it makes a difference but 2020 and newer have longer axles also. At that point it’s only the extra through rod bolt to take out to get the axle out.
Does it make the machine wider?
No just longer. No lift either.
lmao!!! Only dude EVER that likes plastic over metal...🤣
Lol I like the OEM look
Every ounce counts too sometimes. Ask a Honda owner next time one floats by you… lol
@@MrT13 like a boat?
@@bitrage. well I mean define boat lol. If it floats….
@@MrT13 The new Acura Integra....🤣
here's the thing with 80-90 percent of the videos of how to THEY NEVER WANT TO ALLOW YOU TO SEE THEM STRUGGLE AND THATS THE PART THAT GETS PEOPLE THROUGH THE BS SO WITH THAT BEING SAID THIS VIDEO IS USELESS BY SHOWING ALL THE SHIT THAT GOES WELL..SMH
Well thanks for the view lol. We appreciate the support. Throw up a like if you’d like. 🤘🏼
@@LetDirtFly it was def a thumbs down even though I’ve liked some other videos you made just call it how I see it
I hear you. Problem is, when you’re filming by yourself and start struggling with something, it’s hard to film, struggle, etc all at once. I didn’t really struggle. The bearing socket was out of round which was the problem that caused my “struggle”. The rest of the arm did in fact go in smoothly. Funny enough I’m actually changing the upper bearings as well as the wheel bearings as we speak.
