There are not two softshell crabs there at all. That is the same crab that has malted out of its own shell.

Yep 100%! I had no idea of that as the top shell was not in the leftover body. But that’s what they do, so cool!
Funny as Vid! Sore cheeks Brah. We have a theory here in the NT that once a Jenny stops reproducing, she kills many other crabs. It's a theory I've heard for decades and I'm not sure of the facts behind it, but I do know we catch many more crabs here than what we did in QLD where there in no keeping Jenny's. Thats why we keep Jennys over 14cm here. Would be good to know the research behind this as QLD has made some very questionable decisions for the fishery there in recent times. Keep the content coming guys, top video.
We used to do that in new Caledonia but just to get the soft shell crab's. They are the best you fry them up whole bloody beautiful eat the shell and all .that one you thought was a dead crab in the same hole you got the soft shell one was actually the same crab .

We haven’t tested them on gel coat yet mate
