Hi guys i mixed up the turbo engines, 2010-2013 The PreLci engines were single turbo on 4 and 6 cylinder but after the facelift or LCI 2014-2107, There are two types of Twin Turbo BMW engines on lci 2014 and above , the TwinPower Turbo and the TwinTurbo Power.
So, to clarify
* twin turbo technology employs two turbochargers that are placed one next to the other (“twin”)
* biturbo employs 2 turbochargers as well, yet they are located one on each side of the cylinder bank (typical for V8 engines)
* BMW TwinPower Turbo is relying on a single turbocharger with two scrolls
* BMW TwinTurbo Power (yes, this one exists too) relies on two turbochargers
* TwinPower Turbo is not the same as TwinTurbo Power, so don’t mix them
When it comes to a turbo BMW there are two types to dissect which are BMW TwinTurbo Power and BMW TwinPower Turbo. The BMW TwinPower Turbo option relies on a single turbocharger with two scrolls and works in conjunction with the High Precision Injection, the Double VANOS variable camshaft control, and VALVETRONIC variable valve control. When you choose the BMW TwinTurbo Power you’ll see this option relies on two turbochargers. In most twin turbo technology, the two turbochargers are placed one next to the other. These components work in unison to improve your engine’s power and fuel efficiency by compressing more air into the combustion chamber. I meant to say twin turbo where i said twin power turbo
Timing chain is also one of the biggest issue if you opt for longer oil changes say 15k km or more the chain will be stretched and eventually fail. Look for a chain rattle on cold stars if you can hear a chain rattle that goes away after 5-10 second but you can hear when you start it in the morning that means your timing chain has to be replaced. Although bmw claims chain must be replaced at 1.5l km but i have seen with frequent oil changes like 8-10k km go for 3Lkm so it depends how the car has been maintained so look out for timing chain rattle and you can remove the valve cover to look at the chain. Replacement of a timing chain is an engine out job as it is in the back of the engine so hope this helps 🙏

Well it is difficult to say, all you know about general service i guess, but when about parts it is old model and it is difficult to manages part, quickly.
once i found a radiator was leaking ...2nd time drive belt broke while accelerating...it damaged couple of things, still i managed both of things in few bucks, because my friend have a garage. It is very helpful when someone of your closest have workshop, other wise you gonna loos your hard earn savings.

Honestly i will say if you have spare few lakhs of rupees, then it is a machine you must have.

TwinPower turbo is a single turbo with two down tubes, TwinTurbo Power engines are dual turbos with two down tubes. There is a huge difference. The TwinPower Turbo has that sweet blow-off valve sound that replicates the sound from bigger turbo cars.

The above model is bmw F10 520D N47 PRE-LCI(N47/47 engine needs timing chain replacement after 150k km),and it have single turbo.dual turbo is for 535d 3.0 litre engine N57.

The 4 cylinder in 520 is the same on f30 320
So engine problems are same and overall the parts prices for suspension is also similar to 5 series

It's not a twin turbo. It's a twin power turbo meaning, there's a single turbo that comes with two exhaust down tubes which is totally different from a twin turbo setup.

that was very informative video. will like to add one point most of the BMW owners suggest to keep 3-5Lakhs aside just for the maintenance part cause as mentioned in the video Stearing rack full set or transmission or Engine parts may damage in future (also correct me if i am wrong)

If the car’s history is good then a bmw engine can easily do 4-5L km i have seen 4L on a bmw x3 and 2L+ on soo many bmw especially a 5 series but yes the spares are expensive as we are essentially buying a 60L car for 10% of its value

Both of these have the same inline twin turbo 6 cylinder so overall the maintenance is same but the x5 has air suspension in the rear so if these fail they are expensive to replace, go with the 530d the torque on twin turbo f10 is amazing and fun to drive

Nice informative video but bhai u missed very critical part which is usually replaced in 2-3 years. Battery. If the battery is not calibrated then it will fry a lot of components.
Hi i think battery is a very common point of failure in all vehicles and if you don't calibrate the battery won't charge but if you replace with the same 100din series battery then it won't fry your electronics, batteries usually lasts 3 years in all sorts of vehicles
@@ThatBeamerGuy you have to code the battery in BMW it had fried my car throttle module due to voltage difference. Swapping the old battery with new one will not work as per BMW specifications.
@justtube443 i know it needs to be coded but if you replace the old battery with the same series battery it doesn’t i have seen on many cars with the same battery the electrics won’t fry by just putting a new battery of the same capacity if you tried to jump the car with let’s say a inverter battery or something that is 24v that might cause some damage but in most cases the battery will not charge properly that's it

Your keyfob battery is probably fine, i have seen this happening on my cars and on lots of f10 over the years this only happens in places where there are lots of street wires on the polls or parking near high voltage power lines. To sum it up the frequency of the keyfob and the transmitter in the car gets interpreted due to other higher frequency so in this situation take the key fob to rear driver door and try to lock or unlock there most of the time it will work and then you can unlock your car the transmitter location in the car makes the rear right door a good place to get the frequency from the keyfob

Bmw doesn’t make most of the parts on a bmw for example the suspension of a bmw is from a brand called ZF and under this name there are multiple small companies like lemforder, sach etc. so parts are easily available but get it from a trusted source as they are easily faked in delhi, insurance depends on the value of the car, it can be anywhere from 30-70k

I am filming a video on 330i e90, This is the most loved petrol engine but it also has flaws , 2020 330i is new and under warranty most probably so things aren't breaking when compared to older cars but inline 6 is the same one they used in the supra and inline 6 is much refined than older n52 engine found in older e60 and e90

Deep clean once a month with leather conditioner and interior cleaner and wipe with a clean microfibre cloth every time you wash a car
