3 green lock to the same purple/dark green with a 820 ohms resistor
Remote start H2
H2/3 brown to truck white/tan
H2/4 gray to the hood pin mounted under hood
I had to add a relay to the accessory in order to get the A/C to work. I will do a follow up video that explains that. I didn’t know this wouldn’t kick on until the summer time. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
I must give thanks to you for making this video!! I installed a Viper remote starter, for the first time, in my Dodge and with your tips it started right up!! Thanks
Glad to hear that.
I have now added all the wires that I hooked up and what I hooked them too in the description above. I don't have the image of the relay that I had to add later to get the A/C to work when I started the truck. That was a 4 pin relay that was attached to the accessory wire in order to create another accessory wire for the Avital. Hope this helps with your install. If you have problems send me a comment and I'll do my best to answer them right away.
Great video Jeff. I'm installing an excalibur in my 2005 Rumble Bee. Very good tips. Sounds like Minnesota weather you were dealing with.
Shaun Wolvin Missouri weather but born in Minnesota.
I want to install a remote start for my 2005 dodge Durango
but i'm worried about 2 things:
how to integrate the oem remote with the new alarm system ( I never done that)
and installing an immobilizer on (probably gonna use the one where you put the key inside it because I only have 1 key at the moment and I just bought 2 more so I'll have 3)
I only installed a Crimestopper remote start alarm system on my old 1991 Chevy Caprice where I didn't have to use an immobilizer and didn't have to worry about oem lock and unlock ( i mean with the durango if I don't unlock from my oem remote I can't start the car )
one time my remote failed and couldn't start it
so any pointers tips or tricks would be highly appreciated
Thanks
congratulations for the great video for assembly and wiring did not use the bypass, I see it wrong? did he put the cip coded directly to the sensor?
wow thanks this really helped and also did you use a Immobilizer Bypass Module i have an 04 hemi and i want to know if you used one in your install or not and did everything work correctly
no I didn't need the immobilizer. my truck didn't have the chip in it. If you have a gray key you will have a chip in it. You can also stop by any dealer ship and have them check if you have a chip in the key.
can you clarify the installation of the relay for the a/c to work? I've read all the comments, but just can't visualize it.
Here is a video that explains this how to do this. Because the Avital needs another Acc wire to power the A/C you need to piggy back off the main ACC wire from the Avital. You do this with a relay. What this does is when you have the A/C on in the summer you can remote start the truck and the A/C will turn on. If you try it now you will notice the A/C doesn't turn on. In the Video he is showing how to wire up a secondary Ignition wire. You are doing the same thing except on the ACC wire. If you have any questions on this just ask and I'll try to answer them the best I can.

Do you use regular resistors like those that would be on a circuit board?? If so, how to you connect them to a regular WIRE with the thin solid pins that come out of each end? If NOT, where can I buy resistors that are intended to be connected in line with WIRES rather than PCBs?? thanks
jawojnicki yes the same ones. You just tie them into the wire like an online fuse.
So parking light is straight with just resistor in between no relay?
Wow this is great info, I'm currently installing one of these in my dads 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. Having trouble with the remote start harness 6 pin trying to wire it up.
What 6 pin are you looking at?
+Jeff Crowell The heavy gauge 6 pin harness.
+BlueZero2003 the heavy gauge 6 pin is the main wires. those are right under your steering column. If you look at the diagram on websites you will find those in it.
+Jeff Crowell www.bulldogsecurity.com go to this site and you can find the 2011 diagram.
+Jeff Crowell awesome thank you. What did you do for the wiring involving the dball2?
ok so I got the same model starter and am wondering if you hook both 12 volt input up to the red constant? also I'm new to hooking one of these up and the booklet with is not suited for that if you could email me the color codes you used, got the 6 pin set just need to do the others. thank you
Yes both those wires tie into each other.
Thanks for the video. I just hooked this model up to my '05 Ram 1500. Seems to be working great. Have you done a video or could you direct me to documentation on hooking up the relays for the A/C? I can't seem to find any wiring charts showing what wires to use to control the climate system. Thanks!
The A/C is hooked up to the 2nd acc. wire. If I find the diagram I'll attach it. If you google relay for 2nd accessory wire. It will show you how to hook this up. You will tie it in to the 1st accessory wire. With that wire active it will activate the 2nd accessory wire. It's really easy to do. This was my first time working with relays.
Also no bypass needed correct ? What color key do you have?
How big was the wattage for the resistors you added? I have an identical version of your truck (05 1500 4.7)
Jesse Stoltzfus for the door locks it was 220-330 to unlock and 820 to lock. It wires up to the same wire.
Question where does the brake get connected to and is it parking brake in put or brake shutdown input
I would have to look up the colors but the brake connects to the connector that is attached to the brake pedal.
just wanted to ask, did you use resistors on other wires or just the lock/unlock?
Yes on the parking lights. It was an 820 ohms. So 3 total.
+Jeb Meyer I messed up the lights were a 330 ohms. Not sure where I got 820.
Jeff would this install be the same for a 2001 durango??
Best Regards,
RODOLFO MARTINEZ this was on the12volt.com

Notes:
NOTE: Chrysler vehicles that use a gray ignition key have an immobilizer system that needs to be bypassed when remote starting. *1 Lock is negative trigger thru a 820 ohm resistor. Unlock is negative trigger thru a 330 ohm resistor. MUST use relays. *2 The Central Timer Module is in the driver kick panel. *3 The driver door trigger is tan in connector 2, pin 15. The passenger door trigger (and rears) is tan/red in connector 2, pin 13. Use both and diode isolate each. See directfax document #1076 for wiring information. *4 Arm is negative trigger thru a 644 ohm resistor. Disarm is negative trigger thru a 1565 ohm resistor. MUST use relays. This wire will also lock the doors, and it will unlock with a double pulse. *5 On the 5.9L models use BLACK/ gray at the ignition coil. The 4.7L models have an ignition coil for each cylinder, use the wires that is NOT GREEN/ orange at one of the coils. *6 The Powertrain Control Module is on the passenger fender.
Any idea what would cause it to trigger a check engine light, abs light and brake light on dash after starting? It works but does that .. 03 ram 1500
Fyi ....The heater turns on
Can you check the code and tell me what it says. My guess it one of the power wires is hooked up incorrectly.
I installed a Stellar RS1050 on my 04 ram 1500 and everything works correctly except the wire that reads ground 3 times when locking the vehicle to tell the system to start the truck. I was curious if you knew what wire pulses ground 3 times on these trucks for me to hook to. The door locks, horn, lights, etc do not work. Thanks
Blake Nelson let me take a look at that setup and I’ll get back to you. Off the top of my head I’m thinking it’s the neural safety ground. Which tells the starter the car is in park and can be started. I have some time this morning I’ll look at how that system works and see if I can figure it out.
Jeff Crowell just wanted to let you know I got it figured out. In case anyone ever asks again I had to hook up the activation input wire (3 negative pulses) to the yellow wire that comes off the door lock motor inside the door panel. This wire pulses a negative signal before it feeds into the relays that power the door locks.
Blake Nelson did you use the 820 ohm resistor in-line with the negative trigger input (door lock) wire on the Stellar RS1050? I’m about to install the same unit in my 2005 Ram 1500. Also, did you have to add another relay for the ACC wire so your A/C compressor would kick on with the remote start as Jeff mentioned having to add? Or did you just hook up the acc #2 to the pink/yellow on the ignition harness and the Stellar built in relays handled it?
Jeff Crowell I’m stumped trying to install the Stellar RS1050 in my 05 Ram. Can you pull up the wiring diagram and tell me if I need relays to make the door lock signal work?
f01.justanswer.com/pw5j15nV/+car+starter+rs+1050.pdf
I’m not seeing a yellow wire to the door lock like Blake mentions. I have the violet/dark green and can see the pulses when I hit the door lock switch on the driver’s door, but not when I use the lock button on the keyless remote. Either way this isn’t triggering the remote start to start the truck? I have the 820 ohm resistor in-line on my pink negative trigger input wire to the remote starter. I’m struggling to find a wiring diagram for the keyless entry to see if I need that signal instead?
I have some serious issues. I programmed my key fob but it wont even crank my engine.. it honked after the programming just nothing else. No door locks or unlocks. Its on a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 sport
mycmh xray did you ground the neutral safety switch?
Hey Jeff thanks for the awesome video. I followed your steps for installing a 4103 in a 2006 Durango. The wiring is different, but the process was similar. I am having an issue with neither my lock or unlock working. I used the correct resistors for a 2006 which was a 330 and 100. I have also tried to hook up my accessory wire to both the blower 1 and the blower 2. Neither will turn the heater on when I use the remote start. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Keto Outdoor Adventures as for the blower I had to hook a relay to the accessory wire to create a 2nd accessory wire. Worked like a jumper. The ram had 2 accessory wires. The 2nd one was for the blower and A/C.
So the ohms resistors I had to adjust them both up and down. I hooked different resistors on wire and hit lock and unlock to see if I could get it to do anything. This is how I found the different resistors that I needed. If you have a ohms meter you can test it on the line and hit lock or unlock and it will give a reading.
Thanks Jeff, I'll give it a try!
I was able to get the blower working by doing a reverse polarity with a relay and tapped the negative instead. For the lock/unlock, do you have a power seat? I might have to do relays for that as well since I don't have power seats.
Lost me on the power seats. I did have driver side power but not sure how that ties into a remote starter. Can you explain?
Jeff Crowell in the wiring diagram it said you can only tie into the power Lock/unlock wire if you have a power seat. Your vehicle is equipped with relays so using resistors by themselves will work. I got my power locks to work, I did need to add relays to trigger those as well.
Thanks for the video. It’s a big help. I have a 04 black key ram with the Compustar start it system installed. Remote start and locks work great but when I start it with the remote the abs and ebrake light stay on. I’ve switched the p/w and p/g ignition wires but no change. Did you only use one red wire from the truck for the 12volt? I used two under the steering column. Any help would be great. Thanks.
texan241 make sure the 2nd yellow ignition is connected.
Jeff Crowell both ignition wires are hooked up and have power. I’ve tried switching switching multiple wires but no luck. I guess as long as it starts and the abs light turns off once the key is in I’ll leave it. Thanks for the help.
What is the model of the remote starter do you have. I think the remote starter might only have a setup for 1 ignition wire. You might need to change a setting on starter to make that wire live, or you might need to add a relay to make a secondary ignition wire. You will have to do this to the A/C if you want to use the starter in the summer.
Jeff Crowell
I didn’t change any of the jumper settings.
Compustar cm7200
Wires I have hooked up
Remote starter-truck
CN1
12v Red-red
12v Red/white-red (separate from first)
Parking light Green/white-white/green
Accessory White-blue, I also added a relay from the module to the smaller gauge pink/yellow
Ignition 1 Green-pink/white
Ignition 2 Blue-pink/light green
Starter Yellow-yellow
Ground Black/bolt near obd2 plug
Ok I’m out drinking tonight so tomorrow I’m not doing much at work. I look up the starter and see if I can find the solution to your problem.
I had the Black Key for mine. Didn't need the bypass.
Hi Jeff, On the parking lights, Is the polarity jumper on the negative or positive side?
2005 Dodge Ram 1500.
Tsk
Mike,
this was connected to the Negative wire. I used a 330 ohm resistor ,but the wire diagram said 590ohm on a 05'. I didn't use any relay just hooked the resistor in line to the negative wire. works great.
+Jeff Crowell
Perfect, I will try that. Thanks.
+Jeff Crowell
I had to use a 220 ohm resistor. The 330 had my head lights on and the 590 had my fog lights on. The 220 did the trick and just the parking lights are on.
About the relay for the AC where and how did you hook that up?
Tks
+Andrea P. I found that problem out afterwards when I installed mine. To get the a/c to work you need to hook up the 3rd blue acc wire on truck. Because I only had 2 acc wires on the remote starter I needed to add a relay. I used a 4 pin but you can use a 5 pin also. If I can find the CZcams video I'll post a link to using a relay. I forget the numbers. So to do this you use the power from the heavy orange acc wire on remote starter. You then splice into the blue wire under the steering column where the other acc wires are. This will jump power to that wire and give you 3 acc wires. If you wanted to add other features to work you just need to hook up another relay onto that orange wire. Hope this helps.
+Jeff Crowell
Thanks, i let you know how it goes.
Meter is your Best friend.
Have u ever installed a viper 5706v to a ram 02?
RODOLFO MARTINEZ I haven’t. Most of the new remote starters are plug and play.
hi there thinking of putting this in my dodge too, it's also a 05 ram 1500...did you just have to hook it all up? or did you have to get it programmed or flashed? many thanks in advance.
also did you have to run a bypass with yours?
and where did you get your resistors from?
It was a straight hookup. I got the resistors from radio shack but they are gone now so I'm not sure where to get them.
no bypass because my key doesn't have a chip. if you have a black factory key you don't need a bypass. if it's grey you do.
Ok thank you was just checking on the bypass because amazon says it's needed for the hook up but read that they are mostly needed in 07 and never...should of stocked up more on little things during there going bankrupt sale lol
I have an 03 model 1500 will this be similar application?
Leo Mariscal www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspx
You will find the wiring specs for 03. I think 03 to 05 are the same but not sure.
Did you use relays for parking lights and door lock/unlock. And what bypass module?
I had to use a relay for all 3. the door lock and unlock are setup on 1 wire. needed a different ohm to unlock and lock.
+Jeff Crowell relays or resistors? I'm looking at doing this on my 2002 dodge with the same starter. want to make sure I have all the parts before starting. The diagram from bulldog says you might need some 775 relays.
+wegz15 You will need 3 resistors. 2 - 820's and 1- 270 or 1 - 330ohms. You will need 1 relay I found out later for your A/C but as of right now you don't need A/C. Your heater will work without that relay. 1 of the 820's is for the parking lights and the other is for the door lock. The 270 or 330 is the unlock. The bulldog site and 12volt site have great information on them. I have installed about 15 starters now for family and friends and so far it's 95% accurate. If you run into problems send me a message and I'll try to help.
+Jeff Crowell do you still have your notes of what wires you hooked up to which? I'd like to compare them. I can convert them to the different coloring from 2005 to 2002. Also, did you use the 4 1 amp General purpose diodes for the door triggers? if you prefer you can email me. "wegz15 at gmail"
All the wires that I connected to were in www.the12volt.com/installbay/forum_posts.asp?tid=68299 The relay that I added later to get my A/C to work was added to the 2nd Accessory wire. My remote starter only had 1 accessory hook up.
Go to this link www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspx and you will see pictures that someone took while hooking up your truck. This is will help you get through it real quick.
Hi Jeff I installed everything like you instructed, but my lights don't work at all. I have a 2002 dodge 1500 but can't get lights to work with remote start.
CHARGERKAWMAN on your dodge make sure the Avital jumper in on Neg. Then in this link it shows you need a 330 ohm resistor.
diagrams.marktoonen.nl/images/XLarge_2003-DODGE-RAM-PARKINGLIGHT-WIRE.jpg
Jeff Crowell,thanks
CHARGERKAWMAN
Hey pal you have to use a small jumper cube that should have come with your remote starter. It's the size of a tic tac.
Thanks,that was the problem
Everything is perfect now, lights and horn working. Thanks alot
Hi there friend, I'm trying to get one installed ,I'm using a Viper 4103 XV. My truck don't have the transponder key. I just got hung up on the relay part. Can you tell me how you did it or what I need to do to get this working? Thanks for your time!
+rabdj Are you talking about the relay for the A/C. I had to install on to add the 3rd accessory wire.
Not even sure, I'm a rookie and like to do this on my own. I got the resistors part is there anything else I need to do to install it? What's the relay for the 3rd accessory for? Thanks for taking the time to help! Rafael.
That I didn't video. I didn't know I needed it until after I was done. The Dodge has 3 different acc wires. The remote starter I installed only allowed for 2 acc. So if the one you are install has 3 acc outputs then disregard the relay. All you need in the resistors. For the door lock and unlock it send to different pulses 1 to unlock and 1 to lock. They attach to the same wire. The other resistor it for the parking lights. Other then that it's straight forward. There isn't much to hooking these up. If you have a 03 to 05 ram I have pointed out all the wires and colors. Mine works like a charm.
Hi, Mine is an 2002. I want to make sure is the same. I'll take a look at it and get back to you for advise, Thanks so much for taking the time to help! Rafael.
Could I be using the wrong resistors. I bought a whole bag of them with no numbers at all I looked over the net for the proper color combination but I could be wrong! Any help there or a picture if not too much trouble may help a lot! Thanks again!
I have the exact same setup only mine is throwing a code when I use the remote starter. Its a P1698 and I looked it up and found that its because of my remote start not powering on the TCM. Would you happen to know which of the wires are for powering on the TCM? Thanks in advanced!
Domingos Fernandes does it try to start or do nothing?
Jeff Crowell the car starts just fine but the TCM doesn't start which causes the car to have the code P1698
I'm not sure why the TCM would come on. Where do you have the Neutral Safety switch hooked up to? This only needs to be grounded unless you have an manual Transmission.
Jeff Crowell I'm not sure where my neutral safety switch is hooked up to. The TCM is supposed to be part of the 2nd ignition. I was looking around and it says that the PCM doesn't know about the TCM until the key is turned and that's what caused the code. I tried clearing the code and not using my remote start for a month and didn't get a code. As soon as I used my remote start again it came right back. I assume one of my wires is not hooked up correctly but I'm not sure because my car starts up just fine
If it works normal without using the remote and then triggers the error when you do then yes you have something wired up wrong. So lets see what I can do for you. What is the year make and model of the car or truck? I'll find you the wires that you need to connect to.
Hello Jeff, Im installing my alarm in a 03 dodge ram 1500 but need two accessory wires. In the bulldog security wiring diagram it states I have to connect both but i do not know the proper way to connect the relay. I already searched second accessory relay in google but get different diagrams. If you could help me with this I would appreciate it. Thanks
ok I'm a little lost on this one. What system are you trying to add to truck. This way I can look up what it's trying to do. Relays are really simple to add. You will have a power wire on 87, ground on 85 and 86 will connect to the accessory with in the truck. 30 will output to what you want to turn on.
Jeff Crowell Im trying to install a crimestopper fs-42. Right now Im trying to install the remote start portion.
So this is just to hook up the heater blower motor correct? I have both diagrams pulled now and want to make sure I'm on the same page as you.
Jeff Crowell yes that's correct so
Brown - yellow (starter)
Red - pink/black (12 volt constant)
Pink- blue (ignition 1)
Pink/white - red/white (ignition 2)
Gray - would have to wire a relay for accessory 1 and 2
You will need a relay on this. On the 03 you have 2 accessory wires. The Orange one is accessory 1 and Green is Accessory 2. On the FS-42 you have a 6 pin wire harress. On that you have the pink/white setup as ignition 2. So you will have to piggy back off the Grey wire from the FS-42. So to get this to work. You will need to tie the Grey wire to the 86 on the relay. 85 will be ground. 87 will be the 12 volt cont also put an inline fuse on here. 15 amp will do. That makes 30 the one you tie into the green accessory 2 wire. This will trigger the accessory to hit both 1 and 2. The grey will go to the Orange and in the middle of the grey wire tie in to #86. hope this helps
So was the pink and white wire wrong should I switch the regular pink wire with the pink n white
sorry for the very late reply. are you still having issues with this?
Nope I got it
But u helped
Cool glad it helped.
2002-03 Dodge Ram 1500, 4.7 V8, single cab SLT......................................................................Any suggestion for a remote start? I ask because, "Martinez" asked about a "02 RAM" and you stated most remote starts are "Plug and Play"... And that's what I'm looking for, nothing fancy, just a reliable remote start that I can put in my truck... My research is yielding confusion... So I figure I would ask someone who may already know the answer... Thanks Nathan
Greatnate30447 EVO makes some plug n play remote starters. Not sure if they have one for that year. They will come programmed to work with factory key fobs.
hi jeff so im gonna try to install the avital 4105 on my 02 ram this weekend and i had a very small question... does the watts for the resistors matter? is because i have been looking for the ones you bring up on your video on ebay and it says the correct number for the ohm but it also says an amount for the watts. so that is why i want to know if the watt amount matter or as long as is the same ohm number it will work.
rudy martinez sorry I was in China for 2 weeks for work. The watts don't matter just the ohms. It because you use 1 wire for both lock and unlock. Look for an assortment pack. That way you can try different ones.
Jeff Crowell ok thank you...i tried installing atleast only the remote start this weekend but after i wired the wires for the remote start with out the locking and unlocking harnes and the truck never turned on with the remote start i dont know if its cuz i wired something wrong or what
Jeff Crowell its a ram 02 4.7 4x4
rudy martinez make sure you have the shift lockout wire grounded.
Jeff Crowell ok thank you very much will check that out tomorrow i really appreciate it
What type of exhaust ?
Adrian Rodriguez flowmaster cat back.
I have an 04 dodge ram 1500 with the avital 4103 ,I'm not getting any power whatsoever,I don't have power locks or anything I just want the start system to work any help?
luke williams did you have power before? Meaning was this fully hooked up then quit working?
Jeff Crowell I hooked it up just as yours is but it never powered anything. So no it was fully hooked up just no power.
Ok give me a sec to look this up It's been a few years now since I did this.
Take your time, I'm just glad someone with a dodge actually has the same system to help out.
Ok this will be a little difficult without seeing it. So no power I would give me a few options to look at. First thing the 2 red wires on the heavy gauge harness go together. I would check this because they have fuses on them. Check to see if they are blown. Next make sure you have a good ground. These 2 spots would be my main points to start with.
where did you tap into the tach for the tach wire
Never the virtual tach worked on it.
can't find anywhere on my 04 for the tach sence wire
I didn't hook that wire up. Nor do I have the neutral safety switch. You can't start the car unless it's in park so that wire is useless.
Here is what I have hooked up and it works great.
On my the avital 4130
H1/6 horn
H1/8 ground to frame
H1/9 parking lights with 330ohm resistor
None on 4 pin satellite
Heavy gauge all 6 are attached
1 pink to truck pink/green not pink/white
2 purple to truck yellow
3 orange to truck big dark blue
4 red to truck red
5 pink/white to truck pink/white not pink/green
6 red to truck same red as 4
3 pin door lock
1 blue unlock to purple/dark green with 270 ohms resistor not a 330 ohms resistor
3 green lock to the same purple/dark green with a 820 ohms resistor
Remote start H2
H2/3 brown to truck white/tan
H2/4 gray to the hood pin mounted under hood
Having trouble with my remote start does the tach wire need to be hooked up the instructions really are not that good. So many wires. All I want is remote start.
Shawn Downs what wire color is it? I’ll look it up it’s been awhile since I did this. Also what all do you have done so far?
Jeff Crowell are you on face book so I can direct message you?
I have hooked up all main ignition the wires like you show. But there are grounds on the other wire clusters like black to ground and brake wire and tach wire that are very unclear in the instructions. Also do I need to some how program the module to learn my truck?
Shawn Downs facebook.com/profile.php?id=1290854657
Shawn Downs the tech wire doesn’t need to be hooked up. The neutral safety switch does need to be grounded. So I hooked that into my main ground wire.
Hey I need your help bad. I have a 2004 dodge ram 1500 that I'm trying to install a remote start (Avital model 4105L). And I can't find correct wires and wiring diagrams. Please help
I feel stupid

This is the site I used
Thank you so much, I have been out in the cold for 3 hrs trying to figure this all out
@jeffcrowell1975 ok after going through all this and triple checking things, it's still won't work. The only thing I got working is the door unlock/ lock. Is there a way you can make a quick video of what wires go where?
Hi Jeff,Is Rafael again. First the wires for the door locks in my truck are different mine is green and white and the one for the parking lights is yellow and purple. I installed the box today and all I get is a click and only the interior lights flash no start at all. Any advise? I push the buttons on the remote and the box led light flashes when I push the lock button, when I push unlock it shuts off. I can use all the help I can get. Thanks again!
this is the same as mine. the 6 pin is what will hookup under the steering column. make sure on your key color. if it's gray you need to key bypass. if it black your fine. the Gray key has a chip in it. if you follow my steps it will hook right up. Go to the sites that I have linked and match up the colors. if you have problems reply back.
OK I didn't see this last message. so the click is your acc. wires are mixed up. I was getting it to crank over for a sec then stop. connect a light wire tester to make sure you have the starter wire. When you crank it over the light will come on then turn off. That wire diagram could be off. You will need to make sure you have 2 wires hooked to acc. I'll look at your starter setup again. you might have to program the 2nd acc on the box to make sure it's active.b
pink/white is your 2nd acc. tie the 2 reds together and connect them to constant power.
I think that's what I did but I'll double check. Thanks
+rabdj Here is a great write up with pictures of how to do this on a 2002 Dodge Ram. www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspxThis should fix all your issues. Good Luck!!!!
What if i added a autolock and unlock system
depends on what box you added. most have 2 extra wires on them to control a switch. You would just connect into those 2 wires. I have another video when I added aftermarket locks to me Jeep. I think I explain it in there. I added a remote starter to it later on and just connected the door locks from the remote starter to the door actuator switch. Worked perfect.
Jeff Crowell ok thank you so much and would i still need resistors still or that only for stock lcoks
im confused as to why you didnt test your own wires before you hooked it up. it only takes a couple seconds to test them out and locate with no diagram. diagrams are only to point you in a quick direction.
Chuck Close because I lent my tester to a buddy and didn't see it again for 6 months. So I was doing this blind. The reason I did this video is to help people that don't understand ohms resistors. But want to do this on their own. Rule in my house now is only lend out tools that you have a back up of.
Nice job on the video Jeff..taking the time to help others shows a lot of character,,unlike others who judge and ask stupid questions. Like I always say...I fix a lot of things but I can't fix stupid
Thanks
Just bought the same system 4105. I have 2002 ram 1500 with black key,can I only use remote start without keyless entry
No you can use it for everything. You just have to wire into the door lock and unlock wire. You will need ohms resisters.
Jeff Crowell, thanks waiting on resistors now
did you ever got the alarm installed on ur truck?
I never installed one when I had the truck.
what bypass did you use?
no bypass needed on this model. I don't have a chip in my key.
is you have a gray key then you will need a bypass. black key has no chip so no need for bypass.
Great info. I still can't get mine to work. Avital has been zero help. Can you supply your wire list to me. I am looking for just the start. No locks, lights, etc. Just remote start.
What year truck do you have?
2004 Ram. Should be the same as your 2005.
www.bulldogsecurity.com/bdnew/vehiclewiringdiagrams.aspx
This site will give you all the colors. Just to get the starter to work you will be working just under the steering column and adding the brake kill. I will find the time on this video of all the wires you need.
Right before the 2 min mark in showing you the wires that you will need to connect to and you will only need them. So the 6 heavy gauge wires and the brake wire. This will get the truck to start You will need to hook the Acc wires so the heater will work.
+Jeff Crowell Thanks. I will give it a go again tomorrow. I used your video to a "T" but still won't go. Maybe giving it a rest will help.
Where did you get the resistors?
James Horrocks at the time I got them from Radio Shack but they are no longer around. You can find an assortment pack on amazon.

Thanks jeff. I wont have issue with wattage ratings?
James Horrocks nope. If you have a tester you can attach it to the line and hit the lock and it will tell you what resistor you will need to lock. Then do the same to unlock. If you don’t have a tester you can start off with the ones I said and play around with higher and lower resistors. You will find one that works perfectly every time.
Still waiting for the diagram for ac connection
I'm going off memory on this. This was done with a relay. The Avital didn't have an secondary accessory connection. I made a jumper off the accessory. You can google how to add another accessory line with a relay. I haven't had this truck since 2016 so I need some information to help you. I think when you remote start none of the climate controls work. If that is the case I will look it up and see what I would have attached it to in order to send power to it. Let me know if I'm right and i'll help you from there.
Long shot but here goes WTF DO I HOOK THE ACTIVATION (-+) TO!? NO ONE MENTIONS IT AT ALL. I HAVE 05 RAM STILL AS CLEAN AS THE ONE IN YOUR VID 6 YEARS AGO. THX IN ADV.
Which one are you talking about? Is this the doors or something else?
Which one? Activation wire? On the nine (9) wire harness there is a white & blue stripe wire. It is the ACTIVATION wire for the AVITAL 4003. I don't need door locks or horn. Also, how do you put factory remote/fob into auxiliary mode....?
Thx
Also, I just realized you are the guy who made the video. Thanks for your time. I used commando car alarms cheat sheet and have looked at bulldogs they are same, I reversed the pink and white vs pink... per your instructions. I have been trying to use purple/green stripe in driver kick panel to pulse white/blue stripe activation wire 9 pin harness and hitting lock 3 times. But then realized I may need tach wire hooked up...?
@@jbknowles1812 Sorry it's been awhile since I did this and had to go look at the instructions. This is a - ground wire. This can be grounded with the other ground wires. Its purpose is to change how many times you click the start button to activate remote start. By default it is set to 1 click. I would change this to 2 clicks. I was setting mine off by bumping my keys in my pocket. Hope this helps.
This is the one I have. Can you tell me which wires I need to connect and which ones I don't need. Remember I don't have the chip key. www.directeddealers.com/manuals/IG/Viper/N4103V_2009-07web.pdf Thanks again!
