    This shouldn't even be a discussion. For one, this game didn't reach a lot of people when it came out because it came out on the gamecube which was technically a financial failure. And two, it's thousand year door, one of the most well crafted, entertaining, and fun nintendo games ever made. If you've never played the game, just do yourself a favor and buy it when you can and I'll guarantee that at the very least it will be worth the 60 dollars.

  • @jaretco6423
    @jaretco6423 Před měsícem +1

    I don't care if it's worth $60. As long as the game is exactly the same as I remembered with an few features, different layouts and more content that is there, than it's worth it. Which is more than I can say about Princess Peach Showtime.

    for my favorite old games (although never played TTYD, but did play the first game when I was younger), I'd gladly pay 100 bucks, even if it's not justified. The fact that i can play my old favortie games on modern consoles witho0ut having to emulate is more than reason enough to pay whatever they ask. And honestly, 60 bucks is not much considering how much effort is put into making these games.

    Used physical copies go down in price a bit more quickly, if you buy em off ebay and not from gamestop or whatever.

    I don't think the fanbase for Nintendo is getting angrier and angrier at Nintendo, but frustrated about a few things.
    The games themselves (outside of minor issues) are getting rouhgly better than they've ever been.
    Example : Mario Kart 8 is by far the best.
    For the casual audience Zelda is the best right now.
    Smash brothers is the best for casuals it has been ever.
    Odyssey is probably the best casual experience of a 3d maro game.
    What's interesting is to note that a lot of my personal preferences for older games are based on how the storytelling and music really struck me, but I'd argue modern Nintendo games on average are better than they've ever been.
    Even if I prefer older game styles like Ocarina of Time vs Breath of the Wild or Mario 64 vs any title after it. (I really enjoyed Galaxy and 2 but Mario 64 struck me forever I guess).
    The issues I have with Nintendo these days are how anti-consumer they are in areas that don't make sense, such as having bland UI for the Switch. (Even if the ease of use is better than prior consoles). Internet quality, lack of price cuts, etc.
    And of course Pokemon isn't really worth buying anymore, even if it is selling pretty well. I feel like the games are getting better in some regards but worse in ways that really make the older generations feel better overall.

    • @TayoEXE
      @TayoEXE Před měsícem +1

      Personally, I don't understand the bland UI complaint. When Wii and Wii U were around, having extra apps to watch videos or browse the internet or do other random stuff made sense, but in this day and age, smartphones fulfill most of these roles, so when the Switch came along, it only made sense that the UI just made it easy to do one thing and one thing only: play games. I am not going to spend hours in the main menu. Before the Wii, all I ever did with a game console was in fact pop in a game, and just run it. It could probably stand to be a little better or more convenient with organizing games, sure, but the "bland" complaint in terms of having fewer bells and whistles makes less sense to me these days.

  • @icy3785

    so its 60 bucks because: its a remake with basic quality of life added.
    And thats okay because: we should be good little consumers and be happy that its not 70 bucks?
    Im sorry I dont understand, Isnt this mindset why nintendo overcharges
    Isnt videos like this showing them to that remaking a game and charging full price is better than selling it on the virtual console for a discount, so more people can experience the game rather than shelling out 60 bucks for a remake, because "we should appreciate" that they are doing something with ttyd?
    Look I dont mean to be a dick honestly, But saying we should be happy they arent charging even more, and saying, " people are gonna buy it anyways" is such a terrible way to view media, I hate new pokemon and ive been playing it all my life, I played scarlet on release, and felt like someone shit on the face, and im done with pokemon,not buying another one even if " people are gonna buy it anyways" . I was down right insulted by it.
    Again I dont mean to be a downer but defending the a corporations decision to sqeezing money out of people is so strange to me

    • @JacobCruise
      @JacobCruise  Před měsícem

      this is like my favorite game of all time Man.
      take any economics class and you know the sellers price the product at the level of the consumer demand. ttyd fans are typically above 18 and have the money and willingness to pay for an amazing remake.

    • @icy3785
      @icy3785 Před měsícem

      @@JacobCruise Do you need to take an economics class to understand how selling something works?
      Yes, ttyd fans are willing to pay for an overpriced remake, Of course they are, just because people are willing to pay doesnt mean its not overpriced.
      But is nintendo selling to ttyd fans? sure, but its more likely to be selling to more children then nostalgic adults
      but isnt this harmful? I mean I loved playing games from before my era like n64 or snes games when I was a kid, and id love to play ttyd, but im not willing to spend that much money and if i was still a kid I wouldnt be able to spend that much, but I can always play ttyd on the virtual console? The virtual console was that affordable, the virtual console that was replaced by a overpriced subscription service (so you cant own games) and overpriced remakes rather than originals.
      TLDR: I just dont understand handwaving a clearly moneyhungery corporation because, well we'll buy it anyways who cares
