Dont let off the throttle when shifting with the quickshifter. Thats just clutchless upshifting, using energy and inertia from the gearbox. Thats not activating the quickshifter. Keep the throttle open
pretty sure he said the quick shifter isn't installed yet
It is not installed yet. He has it but wanted to see if it works with the GP shift before installing it, so right now the bike has normal shifting with no quickshifter. He just upshifted clutchlessly

Yeah... Those 90s 250cc and 400cc 4 cylinder supersports that would rev to infinity and sound like a V12 formula car. What beautiful machines! Too bad most of them are just rust buckets now to even get one used :(
I rode a ZXR400 once in my life and it was one of the most epic sounding bikes I ever heard in person! Way slower than modern bikes but it sounde so good that you'd feel like going at the speed of light

I dunno, I had an 03 R6 as a first bike, moved on to a 08 CBR 1000, to a BMW R9T and 13 Panigale 1199... and I'd never go back to any 600, or an R6.
Yeah, because you've never been to the track. If you do go, you'd have 250s and 300s passing you. Then you'd realize why 600s are popular.

rustler08 You're assuming I don't track the 1199 or that I don't have involvement in the motorcycle (daily or track) industry. Further more, this R6 isn't being ridden on the track, nor does it sound the owner has that intent for it, nor is this CZcamsr a track guy. So, although I appreciate your comment, it doesn't change my opinion. Same old engine with a face lift and that is neither opinion, or disputable.
rustler08 What? How do you know he's not a competent track rider? This guy is a street rider anyway, 600's suck on the street thanks to them having no bottom end. What's the point of riding a bike on public roads that needs to be wrung out to high hell to do anything? Go ride a KTM 1290 and you'll never want to ride another super sport on the road again, torque is fun on the road, not a high strung race bike.

Those who question why you got an R6 have never ridden one lol I am in love with my 2007 R6. Such power, style, handling, and wild powerband. It feels like riding a stallion below 13k rpms, then suddenly turns into a crazed bull at the later ranges. I am dying to own the new 2017, so we'll see what happens haha

I love my new R6 after owning 2 R1's! Congrats on the new purchase. I also am one of the the pre order buyers of the R6 so I did get the qs but it's not what I imagined. It does not shift seamlessly while holding the throttle down. I have to let up on the throttle then shift.
Liked the video because of how cool that transition from introduction to driving was.

I want one! I'm too short to handle comfortably though. I know they can be lowered, but I've heard that does different and additional wear and tear to the bike. Suggestions?
Why do you still lift the throttle if the the R6 has a quickshifter?
Have you considered making the r6 or r1 into a dedicated track bike?
The gytr QS not inherently working with gp shift pattern was a bummer, realized it after installing...going to try moving the shift rod back just like the r1, but may not work.
Motonosity are going to do mods on it and change its colour?
He said that the Daytona 675 was out of his budget when he bought the R1. It makes me happy to know that he can have pretty much what ever bike that he wants now. Hard work does pay off, especially if you have 3.5 motorcycles

Do you ever ride Lime Creek? If so, how often? I love my Zx6r and i try to go every now and then but if I new more people would ride that rode, i'd go more often.

I'm looking to upgrade from a Honda CBR500R and it's really difficult choosing what to go for, the R6 is a nice option but is it enough power, so that it doesnt bore you 3-4 months down the track? I was looking at the Ducati 959 but they dont have that level of reliability compared to Kawasaki or Honda, I'd much rather be riding it then dropping it off to the dealer for odd jobs. Then theres the Honda Fireblade, which I was pretty set on getting but I was reading that its too much power for the street. I will mainly use this bike to commute to work and weekend rides, basically a daily rider

I was in the market for this exact Motorcycle..I was even planning to put a deposit on once they released it I could be on of the first ones to get on but the dealership I went thru didn't want to work with me regarding the down payment and monthly payment so I just walked away....its a beautiful bike be safe out there man

Hi @motonosity I'm trying to decide between a new R6 2017 or a used S1000rr 2015. Where I am the R6 will cost me 14k Euro and the BMW around 15k Euro.
What would you recommend? I take the bike on track days but just for fun, not looking to get the best laptimes so I think the R6 here may have an advantage, on the other hand I do ride the bike on island tours so I'm not sure which one is the best here either given the R6 lightness and the s1000rr automatic suspension (but high engine heat?). Any suggestions?
Are you gonna do the old exhaust setup you had on your 09 R6? 05 R6 header with a straight pipe and a gp pipe?

I totally agree with u. The 600cc is so much fun entering the corners than the 1000cc. I just upgraded to a liter. I can see the difference.
I got a bunch of shit from my non track friends going from a s1000rr to a r6, but honestly all of the liter bike crowd on street that had no track time didn't understand how much bike was wasted on street in daily commuting or spirited rides. granted i still use my rsv4 RF for commuting here and there since it is a beast for power but the 600 is still a fun bike to take to twisties and commute. Either way congrats on the r6 enjoy your bike, and see you at Cota!
Can't you just flip the solenoid of the quick shifter when you switch to GP shift?

I understand that's why I have two scooters one is a 400 burgman I take on long trips and the other one is a zuma 125 just to mess around on short scenic trips in the city both are different rides. Enjoy your bike great video
