I bought the same ikea bathroom cabinet as you after I saw you get it due to space. Now I see you found containers that fit inside, what are they?

I feel like a super satisfying part of the decluttering process that no one ever shows is the bags being dropped off at the donation center. Sometimes that step can get put off and when you finally take that trip it's the cherry on top that finishes up the cleaning out process 😌
Yes! Just like the laundry isn't really *done* until it's put away.
Or I sometimes wonder if they really did donate it or remove it....
Agreed! I think that's what makes some ppl postpone their declutter.
As a very long term professional organizer, I take all donations and deliver them, at no charge to the client. It gives them immediate relief and reward. It also prevents them from having second thoughts and revisiting choices they already made ("what ifs").
The restraint it took to not call his “stuff” something else, was commendable.
LOL!
Where did he go?
😁
🤣
Nurse tidbit: you can destroy meds by putting them in a baggie with coffee grounds and water. It’ll dissolve them and compromise the use. ☺️
Or a little cat litter! I learned this working in group homes and passing meds!
Great help, I still think that dropping off medications at local drugstore for proper disposal is best. Antibiotics, hormones, mood stabilizers in water supply. Proper disposal isn't the perfect answer but better than just rendering it unusable for immediate human access/consumption where our garbage and municipal waste isn't always the best end point for medications in any form.
@@avaa828 This is the FDA approved way of disposing of drugs. I’m not sure pharmacies do it any other special way besides it being mixed with water and a different chemical- in my opinion, coffee grounds are more environmentally friendly. This also prevents it from being flushed or introduced to our water supply, because it is mixed with a biodegradable substance and trashed instead. The reason pharmacies started to take meds is because people were not properly disposing of them. If you know how and can take responsibility for disposing of your own meds, it cuts down on taxes as well.
@@shara.nelson95 thanks Shara A. Nelson. The FDA website indicates that The best way to dispose of most types of unused or expired medicines is to drop them off at the drug take back site or location. I didn't check what is acceptable in Canada. (Edit-add) Knowing options can help everyone.
Thank you for this great tip!
The Rachel Ray show??? That's so amazing (and best inspiration for a panic clean 😂), congrats!!
LOVED Lottie just chilling out---acting like a little prima dona! LOL
What kind of cat is lottie?
When I was a teenager and life took a miserable turn, my mother would say it’s time for a tune up and a hair cut. She taught me to put a scarf on my head, declutter, clean, organize, and then go get a haircut. These combos of regaining control, focus, and a reward (hair cut) for hard work (cleaning my own mess). Works for me! ❤️😉😁
When I passed it on to my kids, the only thing I added was a soundtrack (mostly Motown). ❤
It's funny. When I see those shelves with books are down, I think, hey now she can put more books on there! Haha. Books are my thing.
Thank you for talking about proper drug disposal! a lot of people don’t know how harmful that can be for water supply or wildlife 💜 great video!
Watching clean with me videos makes me feel like I was also cleaning, even though i was lying in bed watching this on my laptop haha. as always your apartment is so flipping cute!! 😊
I love Lottie laying on the bed watching you go back and forth!! 😹
You should do a book tour and show us your favs and some reviews ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hey Alexandra, you could use stick on puck lights that work with batteries for that cabinet where you get very little light. Also, peel and stick wallpaper to make it brighter and cuter, if you’re feeling funky, 😂😂😂
You inspired me after I saw your Instagram story, and I’ve been getting rid of stuff all day LOL
Love this!!
Me too
Watching as I reward myself with Oreos and milk for all the stuff I just decluttered and donated today! Yay for Spring cleaning!
You could remove the door from that awkward cabinet that doesnt open all the way and have it as open shelves with pretty baskets inside :)
A pretty big baskef for recycling
I'm only 8 minutes in but this video is giving me life...I love the little tin you used on the bedside table to conceal that every day stuff you need...love all these ideas so far. This is giving me the motivation to go through my crap- thank you!!! (And CONGRATS on being on Rachel Ray!!!!)
I’ve missed Lottie. She makes me heart so happy. Another great video. Amazing inspiration to give me the kick up the bum I need to sort my house
I think if you got some more melamine shelves cut and the little brackets you could use more of the space in your medicine cabinet!
I thought the same!
And the same in a kitchen cupboards. Lots of room for more containers and shelves.
This is EXACTLY the vibe I needed today
Ooh I love decluttering and having a clean space so much! Going to do that in a future video of mine too 🧡 Lots of love from Germany!
I just finished downsizing and organizing my small kitchen. A wonderful journey. Found several things to donate and two items from Mom (she got for her 1955 wedding) that I'll never give away.
Pretty shocking to see how much you were able to purge in such a small space… amazing to see how much we think we need and how much we actually need…👏🏻❤️
I totally clean out every room in my townhouse 2x/yr.
(I have 6 rooms/areas)
It makes it SO MUCH easier to keep up on things and nothing gets out of sorts.
I learned this decades ago.
Makes life 'run' better.
As a professional organizer- this was great ! Lots of great tips and so satisfying to watch. Good job
You are so encouraging thank you, can’t wait to see you on Rachel ray.
Lockdown deputtering is the bomb! My donate bags have everything from pots and pans (I’m tired of fighting with certain kitchen cabinets) to dryer balls (I knit so...) to random craft things...to clothes. It’s been FUN regaining my home. I’m not a stylist unless less is more is a style
This video came out on my weekly cleaning day! So perfect! 🤭
Yay!
I also recommend joining your local ‘buy nothing’ group to gift things away to people who will use it versus just donating. It’s a wonderful alternative!
I hope you get your own house like your friend Danie. You are a great diy and you will be doing your own property. Love your diys. 👍❤
SO happy to see the inside of your kitchen cupboards looking just like mine!
Anyone else freak out over all the potential leaking bottles on the linen bed srpead? Nail polish remover!!!
I thought the same thing. She needs a basket with dividers. To stand the stuff up. I make dividers on my baskets with wire or elastic/ rubber bands.
Thank you for sharing! So motivating and a great reminder to go through our belongings and declutter. I’m also so glad you kept the eye mirror on your shelf.
Congratulations on going on the Rachel Ray show I’m so thrilled for you . Your apartment looks lovely, it’s amazing how much better you feel when you’re space is organised. Stay well and happy 😊
I've loved watching your makeover videos for quite a while now and was thrilled to see this one even more! Watching you go through the whole process of decluttering and organizing your home was incredible. It's commendable that you were able to accomplish the whole process in 2-3 days, had the drive keep going and to do it all on your own. The most exciting part was seeing all the extra stuff leaving at the end and your cupboard & shelf space being freed up for all your most favourite beautiful things. Congratulations on by Rachel Ray! Great inspiration to do a thorough tidy up.
Throughout the rearranging of the shelves I kept hoping you would add the 2 missing Harry Potter books to the shelf 😆 I have some feelings about that
This is so relevant to me right now! I started out watching your makeover videos but de-cluttering has been a top goal for me for the past few months. Watching now!!
Hi Alexandra - Your interview on the Rachael Ray show was awesome! Congratulations! x
Decluttering and tidying is so satisfying. I think during the past year or so with all of us spending much more time at home has required an evaluation of our surrounding environment, modifying/adapting it to our needs as well as potentially gaining some unwanted clutter. I like having these types of videos running in the background while I clean and tidy in general as well as when I am doing a deep clean and sort. You have such a wonderful personality and it is always a joy to watch your videos :-)
I like having systems and practical storage that makes sense, it has helped tremendously with maintenance and preventing getting back into the same situation, seeing what I have really helps. It is all in the mind as they say x :-)
Wonderful Alexandra, I love to organize my space and I have been doing that room by room lately, my bedroom got a complete makeover which included painting and DIYing an old dresser and hutch that I painted and put craft paper on the drawer fronts and in the shelf to the side of the hutch which was mounted above the bed as my headboard. I love the beachy coastal vibe I now have in my bedroom and I finally organized the closet and got rid of a bunch of stuff as well. I love your channel so much because you always give me so many ideas and inspiration to try out in my own space. Thanks again and I am looking forward to your next video, sending love and hugs, bye for now.
I recently put my pans in drawers and it made so much sense for my space. Little things like moving bowls is game changing. Over the stove stupid short cabinets...use for spices on lazy susan I even took off the doors, I now love that space!!!
Congrats on being featured on the Rachel Ray Show!! I love your videos. They’re always super inspiring, and watching you declutter is not only motivating and satisfying, but it makes me feel better knowing that it’s a process. Everyone has to declutter over time, and it’s super validating to see you do it too. You’re amazing ❤️❤️❤️
Love your videos! You have literally helped me with anxiety during this pandemic. And I haves learned so much! So happy for all of your success🤩🤩
Oh that makes me so so happy to hear!!
Congrats on being on the Rachael Ray show!! How cool!! I love to organize!! I also love to watch someone else organize & see if I can learn any new tricks or tips 👍😊
Now that you have a studio, I’d love to see a video on how you repurpose the cool storage nook in your kitchen!
This was therapeutic even for me. Very satisfying to see all of the donation boxes.
Perfect timing Alexandra! I am about to start my spring cleaning and need to pack as well! Thank you so much.
Made me wake up to so much I don’t need! Like your suggestions and choices you made! Blessed and safe days!
So love the “Eye” mirror!
The Rachael Ray show !!!! Wow!!! Congrats!! proud of you !!
Loved the declutter!
🎉CONGRATS Alexandra! Can't wait to see you on Rachel Ray!!! 🎊👏☺️
OBSESSED with Lottie watching the process ❤️❤️❤️
The saying is, "A place for everything, and everything in its place". I love it and live by this mantra.
Yay loved this video and the tips Alexandra! So satisfying to watch you declutter and clean. 😁
I hit LIKE the moment I heard AG's gonna be on Rachel Ray!! 😄🥰 Congrats 🥳
I love going through everything like this!!! It makes me feel so much better afterwards 😁
I purged my 3 bedroom/ 2 bath home down to what's = to a 1 bedroom apt without a kitchen. MAJOR PURGE. Felt SO good! This gave me a lot of good ideas!
I saw the episode! It was so awesome and surprising when I saw you. I was working and definitely stop doing my job during the segment. CONGRATS 👏
Amen, I have the same corner kitchen cupboard problem times 3 in my studio apartment lol. I've found putting the long term stuff I stock up on (klennex, tp, costco quantities) and less used dishware works for those corners areas (or less used art supplies lol). Then I put the stuff I'm always reaching for in front of those (cat food, instapot).
Also love your kitchen tea towel!!! Oh and like, years ago you mentioned cellulose dishcloths, and I want to say thank you! They work way better than the fabric ones I got when I moved in, and are super fun!
I really need this. I know what I will be doing this week! Thanks for the inspiration! 👋☀️
I love your decluttering. It is so soothing thank you
Loved this more informal declutter with you vid! So satisfying and relatable haha
Really enjoyed this video, don't be embarrassed, that is a normal under sink cabinet! Thanks for sharing your journey!
Getting my kitchen painted soon. You've inspired me to start the decluttering process now
For tangled cords, I use Velcro cord organizers. Some are colorful but majority are black.
Congratulations on the cameo on Rachel Rey! How fun. You will be such treat to audienace who , unlike myself, do not know you. Yeah new followers. I needed this vlog to hit my screen today. I have a few projects that now have the paint let the inspiration begin. I remember when Danni built that cabinet and love her DIY’s too. That golden basket could be a lamp shade! I am planning my Monday, today is Sunday the 16th of May in Maryland for the “stuff” to tackle with. My bathroom, which I have two downstairs, both need a paint refresh. The front is like a powder room and back is a full bathroom. Thanks for the motivation.
You inspired me to declutter my bathroom. I paused the video and just started to declutter. I have about one bag of stuff I do not use like hair care products, make-up etc. Will give it to my family in case they want to use some of the products. Love your videos. Stay safe, greetings from Vienna, Austria 😘
Clean out a drawer for Noah or give him a basket. Poor guy. 😝
Thank you for sharing your place so honestly ❤
Wow amazing how much stuff you accumulate! Great declutter video Alexandra!!👏🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love your organization video, you always inspire me to try DIY’S. Today got me up and clearing and decluttering thank you as always for sharing your tips. Happy Easter Alexandra💜💜💜✝️✝️✝️
Rachel Ray show?! Wow ! Congratulations!!! Great decluttering segment; I am feeling inspired to do my apartment. Thanks as always!
You did a great job and your place looks so much more organized!!! 👍👍👍
Declutter videos are my favorite!! I love your bookshelf so much :) Omg!!! Yay, can't wait to see you on Rachel Ray!! Do you know when they will show it?
Thank you for making this video. I love your energy! I’m going to go declutter now 🤩
Omg! Omg! 🤯🥳 you are so smart. I've been dying to declutter my bedroom and never knew where to put items I no longer want. When you mentioned you place items on your bed whilst organizing your bookshelf . I realized how genius to just place the items I no longer want on my bed! To finish decluttering. I normally place them on the floor duh! Terrible idea. And than I have no floor space or I place them on my patio where they have gotten rained on before. I heart you Gater!
You have space for another shelf in your medicine cabinet😍
💖This is such great inspiration!!!! THANK YOU!!!!! Lots of love and happy easter!!
So excited to see you pop up on my subs list. One of my faves in life 😍
Great job and good tips for organizing your place.
This has been so inspiring! I really appreciate it. Really happy that you chose to put your bathroom resupply stuff at the bottom next to it - makes more functional sense. My only issue/pet peeve is your cleaning supply cupboard. I know it probably easier to uncover the paper towels but I prefer at least putting them in a container with a lid to keep it clean and hygienic, free from possible damp/water spills and contamination from bugs/bacteria.
Looks refreshed!
Always fun to see a good de-clutter! Yay you, Alexandra!! ♥
The eye mirror looked so good on the shelf .You could hang it next to the pink pot on the top left . You are AMAZING !!!
Sooo satisfying. Good job👍🏻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Just did this in my apt ~ it’s the best feeling 🥰
Congratulations on the Rachel Ray segment!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love your cleaning videos they re sooo inspiring I've been rewatching your old ones while I clean so I'm excited to get another! Also are you going to do another loft decorating video?? I assumed you moved everything from it to the office and am curious to see what you're using it for now 😘
a suggestion for your kitchen bottom cupboards, use self adhesive wall paper to line the bottom of them in a fun pattern (carry your fridge paper to the cabinets)
Thanks for the inspiration! I paused your video several times to get up and tackle something.
Great video! It looks amazing. 💕
Love this! I'm inspired to do my bathroom today 💕
Very inspiring - I feel some spring cleaning coming on.
You’re making me rethink my current trash and recycling setup. They are out in my kitchen, right in front of the heating vent, which is gross in the winter as my garbage cooks. 🤢 I’m now thinking about redoing the under sink cupboard and getting two narrow bins to stay side by side under there. Time will tell but thanks for the inspo!
Great video as always :) and I love company magazine and was sad when they stopped printing it! I used to buy it at indigo every month!
love you call them Tea towels can tell you part British 😍 your an inspiration you've inspired me to spring clean x
Awesome! I need to do this! Just a tip... you may not want to keep makeup by the window because most makeup isn't good in the sun! Also.. Please put your makeup brush in a separate container... soo many germs with it thrown in the basket ... :)
Wow your segments were awesome! Congrats!!
Love love your vlogs!!
I'm impressed by how great you were at just donating things. I have a hard time doing this even though I like to live in more minimalist spaces. Good work.
My home is really old with lots of character like yours and I have the same kind of "black hole" cabinet. I've found that a big lazy susan helps me utilize the far corner of it more efficiently. I love that all the baskets in your book shelves match.
