Oh, bless her heart. My heart goes out to her and I wish her a speedy recovery. I have actually had 6 backsurgeries in a 11 year span. I will say it's not easy. But she will get through it and she's got a wonderful daughthat's gonna help her get through this.

I’m so happy for Mike Jamie! My husband is a golfer and we went to a US open once. I don’t golf & didn’t know what to expect but I truly enjoyed myself. Especially watching how excited he was to be there. Enjoy! Allergies is one reason we didn’t install any carpet in our new build.

I love your spring cleaning videos! I started mine the other day although in all fairness, my husband and I only live in an 892 square foot, 1 bedroom + den apartment (so it is not a huge undertaking by any stretch of the imagination). I managed to get the bathroom, laundry room / walk-in closet areas completely finished. In our laundry room there are also wire shelves for storing items on that I also cleaned and reorganized. We actually went to Menards a few years back and purchased some decorative shelving boards and cut to size to lay on top of the wire shelves to help set cleaners on. The wire shelves make things so tippy, but adding the boards was a game changer!! Yesterday I started in the kitchen by cleaning the pantry type shelves that are built into our kitchen island and I cleaned a few cabinets. When I clean my cabinets I take everything out and wipe down all of the shelves and the doors (inside and out). And I wash every single dish and silverware | cooking utensil before putting them back into the cabinets again. Obviously all of these items are already clean, but I feel like they can get dusty when they are sitting around ~~ and some of the plates and bowls do not get used regularly.

I hope you enjoy your time in Georgia. I've lived here since 1966, it's a beautiful place to be. It's been getting up in to the 70's but lots of pollen. Everything is yellow right now. I have a very dear lifelong friend who lives right outside Augusta and The Masters is such a big deal for them every year. A lot of people rent their houses out to people coming in for it. Enjoy your stay and have a safe trip.

You are the hardest housekeeper I know- looking how much you bend over, no wonder your back hurts! Maybe consider getting the pedestals for your washer and dryer? They are back savers, i had them on my old washer and dryer, and will save up and get them for the new set (which was a 22nd anniversary gift, and they are just like yours!)
I second this! I am 5'0 and I have a top loading washer that helps take some of the strain off when cleaning the insides of the machines/ switching the laundry but once I DIY'ed a pedestal for my dryer, I noticed a huge difference. I keep a small step stool in front of my washer as well.

I wish your mum a successful operation and a speedy recovery, I had back surgery at 22, so I know how big of a deal it is, my thoughts and prayers will be with her. Jamie, I love the way you are doing Spring cleaning. It is so hard to do it all at once. Something sad: I keep my daughter’s dog a lot. Our mail lady ran over him yesterday and I’ve cried for two days. He did pass and it is so hard.
I’ve explained before about slow hoovering hoover once empty hoover then hoover again very slowly on mats and rugs it allows you to pull out the dust that is in tight in the rugs it will help you x

As a professional house cleaner with a bad dust mite allergy I just wanted to let you know that you'll feel better once the summer humidity kicks in. Dry winter air kicks the dust in to the air. The humidity kind of makes it stick and settle a little.

We are in the middle of some home projects, as well as prepping for new carpet on our main level next month so it has kicked us into gear to declutter and really see what we have and have not used in the 2.5 years we've been in our home. Easy to get sucked into wanting to do it all! So I needed the reminder to take a breath and not feel like I need to get everything done at once.. one room at a time!
