  • Simply put, a Q Grader is the closest thing there is to a coffee sommelier. Becoming a Q Grader allows one to assess with authority the quality of coffee within either the Arabica or Robusta markets. The system was established to create a universal standard and shared vocabulary for coffee so everyone is looking for the same characteristics and using consistent terms to describe it.

There's none such name, those how you call are called Q graders, and it's a certificate that you achieve passing 20 exams, it's expensive and unless you are working for a big coffee industry you're not going need this. What you can do is try to learn more about Sensory part into coffee by making courses of Sensory (Foundation, intermediate, professional) with an AST trainer by SCA. My advice try to do cupping (like the guy) in the video as much as you can so you can train, find coffee lovers, and read read read, and practice, or you can buy box samples flavors by Nez du Caffè

It’s interesting to think that some people are capable of perceiving more flavors in their foods and drinks because their tongues have more tastebuds (or something like that- 😂 the verb-age here isn’t scientific at all, but t was something biologically equivalent to that anyway). So yeah. That’s why certain people can be really good at cooking or are sensitive to certain foods and styles of cooking, baking, and in this case: coffee brewing. C: ❤️
I wonder often if the comfort we feel while have a good cup of coffee is just our brain going “well you can’t taste it but I’ll let you feel it.” 😂 (silly thoughts here, don’t take me seriously).
