    DELUSION: A man with a rare blood type is asked to save a young lady's life by donating blood. He refuses, claiming when he has given blood in the past, he became psychically connected to them. Television, in this period in history , was at its peak of excellence in terms of acting, directing and screenplays. Today’s dramas depend on special effects and explicit sex rather than pure talent and a great script. The beginning of television were the finest years .

    I was having dinner in a restaurant with a gf in a small restaurant adjoined by a Holiday Inn In Thibodaux, LA in the early/mid eighties. The restaurant was almost empty and just a couple of tables over was Suzanne Pleshette eatIng with a companion. She was down there filming a movie. Her voice was unmistakeable as it got deeper as she grew older, no doubt from smoking. She was a beautiful woman, but we did not bother her or her dinner companion.

    They were saying that the guy is the only person with THAT blood type within the LOCAL AREA. I can see how that could happen in a small town. AB- is the rarest blood type. Only .6% of the population has this AB- blood type. The thing is, someone with AB- blood can RECEIVE from OTHER blood types as well: AB-, A-, B-, and O-. This being a TV program, perhaps the blood type they are referring to is fictional...?
    You can donate blood platelets every 2 weeks. You can donate whole blood every 8 weeks. There are stipulations and regulations regarding these rules, but most people with normal health can donate at regular intervals. Most people, however do NOT donate which can cause some real issues for people in need. If you have O- blood type, you really need to donate as it is the "universal" blood type that most people can receive. It's what they use in hospital emergency rooms when they need to give someone blood quickly but they don't know their blood type. Super important to donate as only about 5% of the population donates even though about 95% of us will need blood or their components by the time we are 75 years old.

      @arx754 Před 6 lety +1

      mark: I'm O+. Decades ago, after donating a few times, I was told not to donate anymore because I was more trouble han my blood was worth. I passed out each time. And, once, I even stopped breathing. So, I stopped giving blood. Not angry or resentful because I could see their position easily. Thankfully, I'm not of a blood type that is needed. Even now, I have to mentally prepare myself when I have to have blood taken just for tests.

    Cute story, and very typical for this show -- but such hammy, over-the-top acting. I'm glad that, for the most part, acting styles have changed since them.

      She was gorgeous - dark and brooding - compared to that tight little blond Tippy Hedron. She did a fabulous Colombo episode and of course the Bob Newhart Show. I wanted to be her when I was a kid. Suzanne grew up in Brooklyn, the daughter of a Jewish theater producer. Born for it!

    Here is something I learned in college...it isnt illegal to use another name, even to sign contracts and legal documents, as long as the reason for using a false or alternate name is not intended for illegal or illicit purposes. Example; a man named Archibald Alexander Leach preferred to sign his contracts, and government documents, by a fake name...Cary Grant.
