I load up with Iceland £1 meals whenever I have a delivery. They are great value compared to the companies that my local council is now using for "Meals on Wheels". Who deliver frozen meals which are often smaller, and would cost me £4.50 to £6.00 each. Adding some bread and butter, or a portion of chips makes them into a decent meal. You can always add more seasoning.

My favourite meal in the Ford canteen in Cologne, Germany was chicken fricassee with rice. Man, that was delicious. Ford ran a huge catering organisation every day to feed around 50,000 workers and all the meals were heavily subsidised. The Sainsbury's chicken hotpot goes some of the way with its creamy sauce instead of gravy.

A year on from your review of these Chicken Hotpots, the Iceland one has been discontinued, whereas the Sainsbury one (Stamford St Co) has been reduced in price to 85p. I tried it the other week and was really pleased with the result. Today i picked up some more of the Stamford St Co ready meals and noticed that they do a Cottage Pie. Any chance you could do a review of it, as they were sold out? Probably means that it must be OK?

I liked the look of the white sauce dish. 90p for a tasty hot meal is amazing.

Both looked very nice Gareth 👍🏻😁
I thought the Chicken pieces in the Sainsbury meal was better quality chicken than the
    Iceland meal.
Good thing about the Iceland meal, much less sugar (6 grams less)
    So it's a tough one.
    👍🏻😁❄☃

I remember the ASDA chicken hotpot you reviewed very similar to that Sainsbury's one with a cream sauce.. it's very good and l think 90p . A must to try is Asda's hunters chicken smokey and slightly spicy.

    Fabulous 🔥👌👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I have always preferred a hot pot with the white sauce but I have also had my eye on the iceland one a while.. sainsburys is is not an option for me,of which I’m sad about.
You remember the Findus vegetable hot pot? I I was crazy about that

Cooked chicken 10% - chicken breast fillet 96% on the Iceland - The Sainsbury's is just 10% of cooked chicken breast !! .... If you can work this out or explain it, you're a better man than me Gunga Din !! ... I haven't a clue how they get these percentages to be honest. .... I'm sure they baffle you with bullsh*t. ... I enjoyed the review.

    Look ok for a squid.
Better than a pie for double+ the £slots more 'filling' and not forking out for dry pastry either.👌

Both look decent for the money, id prefer the one with gravy though as im not a big fan of chicken with creamy sauces.

Either meal won't break the piggy bank and a fair amount to stave off the hunger. Just an idea for a future review, instant mashed potato. It would be good to see your take on them, some are good and some ..... ☹

Those Iceland 1 quid hotpots are super good value. Maybe a touch on the small side but paired with a couple of Yorkie puds it’d be more substantial. Then again I’m a chubby fella so I’m probably just too greedy lol. 😂

Sauté potatoes - chips that haven’t been chipped!
We call them fritters in Middlesbrough - in Manchester, they’re called scallops - but scallops are seafood!

To me being as a Lancashire lad, chicken does not go with the word hotpot and secondly creamy sauce is not a hotpot, Lamb is and should only be used in a Hotpot, guess the mass supermarkets use chicken as it's cheap and no doubt from Bangkok.
