I disagree with Wendy. The money is more important then the art. The artist is only investing time to the art. The label is investing money and time into breaking the artist. A label is potentially two ways to the artists one way
I don’t really like the comment about your prime years being 18-25.. we need to get past this. Good music doesn’t have an age and artists can make their best music and be the most profitable for their team and themselves at any age.
I love this comment!! I listen to some Artist that are in their 40’s and I never find myself thinking of their age!!
I might be wrong but I believe Cole and Kendrick both peaked after 27&25 respectively.
Modern Musician and other upcoming organizations have remarkably good songwriters and performers emerging who are of retirement age, and they are building followings and growing new careers.
A stage age is but a stage age
This entire interview was incredibly inspiring. Thank y’all.
That GPS comment she made is a hidden gem! Most people metaphorically walk aimlessly down any and every road, not knowing where they want to go but holding on to the belief that they'll know it when they see it. If you have a destination in mind, you can take actionable steps to get real results and get you closer and closer to that destination💯
💯
Whenever I see Wendy on my feed I just have to click! 🗣️💎💎💎
Definitely Wendy is a legend 💯
Bro I been watching your content for YEARS. It’s crazy to see where you’ve taken this platform. Congratulations and salute to you brother and appreciate you for ALL THE GOOD FREE GAME
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 Preciate you
I don’t think people suck . I think this system that people have to abide by made them that way and most people just do it because they feel like they have too and that creates these problems.. but I loved the video for sure it was great. I also think that the area of music that we are in or were in as far as mumble rap does suck because of the falsehoods it creates and now this genre of female artist that are coming out like ice spice and so on that are destroying the image of great woman and even children! And this is why I make music the way I do. And I will never support it because I know what it does to our community .. That’s another reason why I was kinda iffy about Wendy saying she doesn’t think it suck. Yes people are struggling and have mental issues and those same people are getting big off their music that degrades us or glorifies a certain lifestyle and the some people go out and make money off this over and over again knowing the effects that it has on the community.. I will never innerstand this . I know it’s hard finding people like me who do this type of music and is good at it on top of that but you can encourage artist who are good to switch the message ..
@@MsterLewisbro please help me the post link you in the interview..

Knew it had to be Wendy Day! She gave me some of the best, most honest feedback many years ago when I reached out to her personally. One of the ONLY people out here that's not trying to grift off of selling dreams to indie artists. Hats off to you, Wendy! 👏🏽
How did you reach out?
30:00 18-24 is the sweet spot for low braincell rap. All serious lyricists are 30+
She seems like a great person. I wish more people thought like her inside the actual industry.
This is the actual industry
Don't We All!
I’m a manager and Wendy Day is my hero. An absolute legend,
And thank you all 3 of you for what you do for artists in the industry 🙌
Legend. Im all the way out in South Africa and as soon as I seen the OG Wendy Day I spazzed out. Looking forward to all the gems in this one
That crazy I met her at a gas station and still cant remember what sparked our convo about music.
She's a legend in the interview - great work getting her on here
Wendy day be spitting so many gems thats life changing. She gives you the inside scoop of this industry
21:45 is crucial. Reminds me of what Trump said: "If I owe the bank 1 million dollars, I have a problem. If I owe the bank 100 million dollars, WE have a problem". The more risk your financial investor(s) take on, the more invested they will be in seeing you win. This is a major gem and mindset shift.
I remember the first Wendy day appearance years ago on the BMN. Y’all have a came a long way since, so proud of y’all 🫶
Wow what a human.. Rn i work at a major and can't agree more with what she's saying. I also want to push art and culture and not maximize money so im going indie next month :)
Would have loved to hear her talk more about how she's spending and splitting ad money tho
Really diggin the convo! Bless up!
Really great interview thanks to everyone.

Luv you guys, shared some precious gems here. First time hearing Wendy awesome stuff seriously
so much valuable information and experience in this interview, thanks Brandman for bringing on Wendy Day as your guest, definitely one of the best interviews to educate upcoming artists
AMAZING Interview !!!
Needed this!
Fascinating! So much to unpack! My major takeaway as an aspiring artist is that music mood and message should take presidency over genre then market properly using genre tags...not sure how I'll do it but here's to trying😊
Straight fire! Find the label that fits your style and goals is brilliant
Thnx for sharing the experience 🤙🏾💯🙏🏾
what an interview! thanks for sharing
Amazing video. Thank you for sharing! Great stories!
Thank you for this information I appreciate it. As a artist and producer I went back to school to be a engineer so this is very important
AMAZING VALUE IN THIS 1. Thanks guys, THANKS WENDY.
Here for the gems ✨️
I’ve been reading about Wendy since I was a little boy and she’s always only spoke facts. I always been skeptical about why does this white lady care, but as a grown man damn near 40…I get it. Protect Wendy at all costs! Lol
Great interview, fellas!!! Wendy is super dope and genuine
Two 🐐s interviewing a major 🐐 salute to all 3 of yall! 4️⃣z up
Thank you for the great info and insight into the industry🙏🙏
Great show. At 1h 1m, it seems that with the great service and success from Wendy's incubator, that is the time to re-negotiate offering the artist an equitable deal. Thanks for sharing your talents.
Thankful for this interview! Hope to work with Wendy one day.
🔥🔥🔥🔥 episode!!! S/O to Wendy and you guys from Belgrade, Serbia 🙌

I'm stuck in music mode right now I've put away the trying to figure out OBS better and CZcams and all of that for a while to record some real music and I'm getting ready to jump back out on social media and you are a big help to me I think I'll listen to you and take your advice and try to do the things you've taught to people
Wendy the goat. Thank y'all for this
💎💎🚀🚀💯This was so very informative. Wendy Day reminded me of Fran (RIP) who worked for Bad Boy Ent. So knowledgable and a major player in the music industry. ❤
This interview hits even harder the 2nd time watching
Great interview!
Valuable information 🙂
I love wendy i square she pops up every 5 years and drops gems. She is ALWAYS on point. CUTTTING EDGE ALWAYS. IVVE SEEN HER ON BOOTLEG DVDS FROM BACK IN THE DAY. NOW SHES ON MY YT TIMELINE..... AMAZING

Thank you.
Another amazing episode, besides the great info it was super entertaining
Much appreciated!
thank you for this!
Holy shitttttttt my favorite two worlds just collided
Another great interview. ✊
She's GREAT~! It's always interesting seeing and hearing numbers/scenarios young talent get presented with. I do very well independently, high five figures a month - I don't know WHAT kind of offer it would take to make me sign but I don't think I would, life is amazing and I don't need to fast-track this it's an amazing journey.
No, don't. Not with a major label, and it sounds like youre past needing it anyway. Make your own if you want to be a part of one!
I've talked to people about what kind of numbers would make then want to sign with something out of their norm, and what I've learned is when someone can't give you a number, it's normally bc they would sell for almost nothing, or there's probably not a number they'd sell for at all. You sound like the latter, and that's commendable!
@@MotivationalMind101 Thanks brother, and yes, I do operate as my own multi-label outfit for lack of a better term as it is. I don't think a label could do anything for me at this point I'm already touching M's and own all my masters/catalog 100%.
@@NORBZMUSIC Its actually sister 😂 ♡. And BTW I don't think one of my comments posted on your page, but I got a kick out of reading your About page... I actually had read it AFTER I posted that some of those remixes are ahead of the time. (NOW was too though.💰)
@@MotivationalMind101 Gender isn't my strongsuit especially in this eco-system :P. Sorry sis - and - thanks for all your comments just read the others. I agree re being ahead of my time with some of my music but that's ok I like experimental and abstract eargasms, and maybe one day they will too.
@@NORBZMUSIC no worries.. everyone online thinks I'm a dude at first. Probably bc I lurk advice videos that men mainly watch 😂
But you have a couple beats that I have bars for. You ready to hear a sample? Let me know where to send, or if you're cool with me just uploading a clip on here with the credit
NICE SETTING, GOOD GUEST, GREAT POD,
Holysmokes- I’m new to this but what an incredible woman - absolute real one! Def subbed from now on (I’m more in edm but I think all lot of this stuff is universal??)
I really enjoyed this ❤ she really knows her stuff
Beeeeeeen waiting for this. Wendy really the goat
so fire i learned a bunch !!
Great convo
What Wendy said is factzz. That's why even me I stopped promo and marketing until you have enough to really move a mark because you spend that little money you see a little success but if you can't keep it going it's back to zero and that's been my experience. Now I'm just pumping music until I have enough money to really really market and promote myself and my music
Hot damn this is some value, just discovered this channel, well played sirs
Interesting - She mentioned the three key things to break as an artist is - Right Team, Right Budget and Know How! See how she didn’t mention a good track? Why? Because music is subjective. If you have a good backing (budget) the marketing and Payola alone will make the masses love your music!
Big salute to Wendy!!
Very informative 💯💯💯
great interview
LEGENDARY
Wealth of knowledge
Thanks 👍🏽
Inspiring conversation
Shes da real deaaalllll!!!! Gotta love her honesty she does it for the right reasons God bless her!
