The lesser known factoid, is that Doki Doki Panic started as a Mario game, they made the engine and wanted to have a game that was able focus more on vertical movement. So it came back to being a Mario game after starting as one.
I’m not totally sure why but I thoroughly enjoyed this video. I can’t believe you burst into tears cos you had to wait *one* extra day to play Mario Advance 😂
It's such an obscure memory I have, but definitely something I'm glad I remember 🤣
When I was a kid I would use Peach because she floats, because he Jumps with a capital J. When I play the game nowdays, I use Toad because he faster than every one else by a large margin, except for a few levels where the Jump or the float let you take short cuts.
U got it backwards Sonic CD was in Japan while Sonic 2 was in America wit a split of jp & American devs for the latter. CD was my 1st classic sonic game & 1 of my 1st 3 sonic games I ever played & not only is it my fav classic game still but still a fav of the series as a whole. I don't think I've almost EVER bothered to play as Tails in CD(least I don't remember) & I've done it at least a bit for the others. When I 1st played it I sucked for a LONG TIME & most playthroughs I couldn't get past that 1 boss where sonic has to pin ball his way to eggman before he gets to the goal so like wit most games I got stumped on I jus restarted(funny thing is for games I DID beat as a kid I still restarted from scratch for 1 reason or another lol). I have a lot of fun jus goin through the stage straight even over 2. I don't necessarily prefer it but the US OST is still a banger so I say try it if u haven't by now but ye the jp ost puts me in a mood like no other(Sonic boom still beat You Can do Anything for a main theme tho lol). I love the OP/ED animations & this to me takes the main themes of the OG games to its greatest degree & actually makes me want to do everythin u can to save the future of little planet beyond breazin through all the time like in other games. The story is my fav, Metal was a "genius" addition, & it broke some trends when they introduced Amy. Funny thing since this was the 1st time I met Amy & my 1st impression was this weird pink "sonic" that grabs me wit heart eyes & wut not before I can breeze through the goal(Then I also gotta C her get kidnapped jus so I can spend the WHOLE game tryin to SAVE HER(?) "uggghhhhhh" I groaned lol) I HATED HER from the get go & my perception of her didn't start to change for YEARS till BOOM of all things but it still took some time to turn around on her OG character & C/appreciate wut made her wut she was. It was seriously to the point as a kid I hated anythin I could remotely relate to her. PINK(?) "eugh", save the damsel(?) "BORIN", UR NAME IS AMY(?) "U MUST BE AN ANNOYIN BRAT THAT FOLLOWS THE GUY U LIKE AROUND ASSERTIN STUPID SHIT LIKE BEIN BOYFREIND & GIRLFRIEND & BLAH BLAH BLAH WHATEVER I HATE U!"(thankfully I've never visibly met an Amy in my life even now lol. I mean I prob wouldn't have said anythin but the thought process would NOT allow me to be fond of u in any way lol). My hatred for her in the 2000s games & most of the 2010s was somethin u genuinely may not have believed lol. Doesn't help that most of the internet corroborated on all this so I couldn't get out of it any sooner than I did on my own & later wit some extra help from ppl more insightful & knowledgeable than me at the time. I love this game & I don't have many issues wit it to really point out except I swear the re-release makes it a bit harder to time travel cus they for some reason extended the time it takes so it actually kinda breaks some of wut it originally was in the design for certain parts of some levels & is generally jus more frustratin but overall it's still the preferable version. There was 1 more thing I was guna say but I forgor by this point it seems so for now I'll jus say Super-peelout is goated
