- All the F1 rumours are pointing to the fact that Pierre Gasly is going to be racing for Alpine in the 2023 season, and I think it makes perfect sense. So, why is that? Let me tell you :)

Definitely rooting for him over every other driver in the grid
I root for him and Perez the most.
@@vjbk1587 Same for me +Seb
No. Goatifi good everybody else bad.
@@vjbk1587 Perez Is Mid,he has the seat only cause he's Max's dog
@@fqeagles21 I still root for dude. That is what it is.
Really hope that all goes great for Gasly. Very positive figure in the sport.
absolutely!
I really do hope so but parterned with ocon I don't think he will have a great time, ocon only knows one thing: defending teamate
@@Jason-jb1vs exactly and he isn’t a clear number 1 now in the team, especially if, after a few races, Pierre could be just faster. Also, Pierre’s marketability is much greater than Ocon’s. That might give problems too….
Gasly to Alpine and Herta to AlphaTauri are 2 moves I'm very excited for if they both work out. 2 big talents getting to show what they can do in superiors machinery to what they've been used to for a while should make for some amazing racing next year.
Piastri to mclaren sounds like a future max story in the making
I hope AT get their car upfield next year, Colton would pretty much be the representative for modern American motorsport overseas so him performing well would be huge
@@Adam-de8jm i think people buy into that narrative way too much , every time latifi inevitably crashes , people don't say "this is representative of NA motorsport as a whole" . On the contrary i think herta has a lot of support behind him from lots of different fanbases and him even having an average rookie season would be enough for people to root for him in F1 .
@@Retr0_Blues haha I might be a bit biased by hype but I mostly mean representing Indy car more than his nationality. There are many talented drivers in indy that don’t get as much of a spotlight so hopefully swapping drivers attracts new fans to both races
@@Adam-de8jm i don't know what the numbers are saying but i personally have been paying greater attention to indycar since the herta talks started so i think this will probably be beneficial for both F1 and Indy fans
It’s a shame that Pierre racing in AlphaTauri isn’t going as well as it did. I think it’ll be good to see him race for Alpine! Plus he’s not gonna go anywhere if he’s still on the Red Bull camp.
As a Ricciardo fan, it pains me that he might not come back to Alpine, but I think Gasly has a bigger chance
I dont see Gasly making a lot of progress if he stays with redbull / AT so a move to Alpine could be a great chance for him. Good video as always btw :)
If the FIA doesn't give Herta a super licence I've just calculated that Lawson does actually have enough points for a super licence, if he doesn't have one already
Well, lawson can still get third, pushing him over the line
I feel Gasly to Alpine will be another Hamilton Rosberg situation, just without a Championship on the line
Not so sure about the move
he's french, they're french.
it's as easy as that seriously... if they don't keep an amazing driver like Alonso they're absolutely lost in their mind anyways and they also lost Piastri due to (it seems like) lack of a clear plan...
What an absolutely silly take
@@RockSolitude because?
They can't keep neither Alonso nor Piastri anymore. They both have signed contracts with other teams. Alpine was trying to get rid of Alonso by replacing his current contract with 1 year contracts instead. The same thing Mercedes did with Bottas the whole time he driving for them. French and Italian teams are known for their arrogance, incompetence and focusing more on internal politics than racing.
Reminds me of Ligier in the 70s/80s. French team with French engine and, when they could, two French drivers
How the fuck have Marcus Ericsson's predictions been so accurate so far
As someone who likes Renault/Alpine, Gasly and Ocon - I'm all for this happening.
Also, R.I.P. Daniel's career.
EDIT: Also, no offense to Herta (I'm sure he is a good driver), but I'd rather see Lawson in F1 than him.
Gotta feel for Danny Ric… if he only stayed at Red Bull. But then again I’m a big checo fan 🇲🇽🇲🇽
Alpine probably signed him without his knowledge.
Brilliant, that put a big smile on my face, thnx
If Pierre Joins Alpine then he will finally have a competitive teammate,We can see his full potential
Other than Verstappen
Gonna miss the two Pierres at AT. Hope Gasly will find good company, show his pace like year and that RB make sure his contract is well drafted to his advantage.
If they could get Pourchare as a reserve who could learn from two very different angles and perspectives to take a eventual 1st seat Alpine could be in a solid position
I like how you've used Piastri's body in Alpine gear for the thumbnail. Very cheeky mate 😎
Love the content man
thanks bro!
Unfortunately from the paddock they say that the negotiation is becoming more and more difficult because of the red bull, if they don't take Herta, Pierre won't give him up. It seems to me a very sad and unfair situation. Pierre would like to free himself and he must do it!
We hope they give Herta the super license!
Pierre can't be on a team like Alphatauri again!
To be honest, the move makes sense, but Gasly and Ocon aren't friends anymore, when they we're younger, they we're the best friends, but when they started karting, their friendship slowly started to go downhill and ended their friendship. Also, Gasly in an "Beyond The Grid" podcast explained why they don't get along.
Both RB and AT have used 1 FP1 outing each on young drivers already. RB used one on Vips earlier in the season before the twitch drama and AT used one on Lawson in Belgium. So Herta won’t get too much experience driving the 2022 cars besides simulating. Still great video, keep up the good work👍🏼
They did it because FIA made them do it. Otherwise, drivers on those academies will never get the 500 hours of F1 driving required to get the super license.
You Are Back!
If AT pull out of the deal due to the lack of a super-license for Herta I don't think it's impossible for Alpine and Alfa to make some sort of deal for Zhou or Pourchaire to fill Alonso's Alpine seat...
really looking forward to the vid about yuki I really want him to succeed 🤙🏻
Honestly I’d love to see either of these moves and I think they’d shake things up
Excited, but people forget that Ocon and Gasly apparently aren’t fans of each other. Will be interesting to see the dynamic
The Normandy rivalry
2:19 - If Alpha Tauri were to ever become a top team there would be a huge conflict of interest with Red Bull. I really dislike this arrangement with sister teams, it all but guarantees one of them will never get past a certain level.
They’re like Williams or Haas though. They don’t invest enough to ever get to that level. Stop wringing your hands about a problem that is never going to happen.
@@Fractured_Unity but AlphaTauri and Haas/Williams cannot really compare to each other because of you know.. Red Bull budget in general..
@@ims0ul RB had never shown the desire to invest in two teams. It’s not financially viable. You people are worrying about a problem that doesn’t and will never exist
@@Fractured_Unity Red Bull/Alpha Tauri's ties are stronger than Mercedes/Williams or Ferrari/Haas.
I don't lose any sleep over this question but I would prefer if we had 10 independent teams on the grid.
@@soundscape26 I agree with your preference, I share it. However, don’t go making mountains out of mole hills. It has never and will never cause the problem you described
i feel bad for saying this but i think it may resolve the same way between ocon and perez when they were at force india crashing and getting heated off. The two drivers dislike each over from their time in the junior catagories , so having gasley join will cause further tension in the team. yes having two french drivers in a french team sounds amazing however i think Schumacher would be a better option as it will be easier for the team to work with the drivers.
Gasly and Ocon at Alpine would be a very interesting duo. The gap would be pretty narrow, but with fairly different driving styles. They also don't have the best relationship either, so most likely they'd come to blows. I think I'd be happier to see Ricciardo or Schumacher take that seat, but Gasly to Alpine does indeed make sense.
I think Schumacher, in the future, might come to blows with Ocon if he ends up at Alpine. If Schumacher wants to be #1, Ocon might not like being challenged. Ocon and Schumi might turn into a Gasly and Ocon friendship fallout.
I think the one who replaces gasly at alpha tauri will be Felipe Drugovich. He’s obviously doing really well in f2 this year, leading the championship by a mile and there have been rumors of talks with helmet marko. And if im not mistaken, he will be doing a driver test for them in monza
there's already talks about herta like Gasly is out, and when there is this much smoke, there is always fire
Gonna miss Gasly Tsunoda dynamic outside of racing in Alpha tauri, but i will see how Gasly progress with Ocon on Alpine...
If the commonly reported numbers for super license points awarded are correct, Liam will have enough points for a super license after this year if he finishes P5 or above in the standings. That’s based on his DTM season and final F3 season each awarding 12 points
Was totally expecting to hear magnolia play after that "yo Pierre wanna come out here"
You called it
Welcome back :)
Just hope he and Ocon can co-exist.
If they get Gasly and sign him on a multi-year, Alpine will just end up in the same situation with their juniors as they were this year with Piastri. Maybe Jack Doohan should move to the Red Bull Driver Academy for next year. He'd be a shoe-in for the AT seat.
I swear Doohan left the RB academy last year?😅
What an intro 💪🏼 go me
legend👀
All this "they don't get along" talk is silly to me. They're adults. They don't need to be besties to be colleagues.
Also I'm sure Herta will perform decently in the AT, but Lawson is long overdue for that seat at this point.
im definitely hoping thats the case. would love to see gasly out of AT. Alpine has so much more pace. Hopefully gasly / ocon rivalry and competitiveness will push them both to be better drivers. overall, improving team performance. They are my top two favorite drivers in f1
Really ? Ocon ? ……ok, if you say so……
@@reyervanleeuwen6839 I like watching the midfield drivers.
4:53 _"...even though Ricciardo's a free agent, it's not like Alpine would be desperate to pick him up given how poor he's been this year and how he ditched them in 2020."_
I'd like to give the 2012 Hülkenberg as an example for that little "ditching" sentiment of yours. At the time, he was racing for the Force India team and at the end of 2012, he left the team to race for Sauber for 2013, putting up some great results. He then went back to Force India for 2014 and raced with them until 2016. Furthermore, Otmar himself did say that they would be okay with Daniel returning to Alpine but we shall see what happens.
I’ve been saying he needs to go to alpine hopefully it happens if they can build a car around Gasly he’ll win or preform at a high level! but Herta in a Red Bull ooooof 😍😍😍
I hope Gasly can win atleast 1 WDC before he retires. Would be great for the sport especially considering how he was dropped midway through 2019. Netflix can make big bucks using his story.
Schumacher is a free agent, and is probably a lot less expensive than gasly will be. Mick has less experience, but in the right car, he could definitely maximize on this opportunity.
5:49 "The talk in the paddock"? Helmut Marko himself outright said that they're after Herta. Not really a rumor when the boss straight up says so.
2 French drivers in a French team, it’s just sad that the French race was boring and it’s not on the calendar anymore.
France has weird circuits. Paul Ricard is great for testing, but sucks for F1. Too many long corners, not enough overtaking spots. Magny Cours could work better with the modern cars (hairpins!), but it's very narrow and twisty. Funnily enough, Le Mans would actually be kinda sick with F1 cars, but they'll never race there for obvious reasons.
IMO: Alonso leaving Alpine when he is performing so great is ridiculous, however PG could hopefully continue this performance to his and the teams benefit.
Except for the fact Ocon and Gasly supposedly hate each other and have done since their karting days.
Genuine question, what happened to the Callum Illot hype? It seemed before Mazepin he was a sure thing in the Haas seat and now he’s forgotten but Nick De Vries is still relevant
He's in Indycar and his future is brighter there
Not yet buddy but here's hoping!
As a Gasly fan I have to say the prospect of him and Ocon at Alpine is very VERY EXCITING
Intro 👌
Don't Ocon and Gasly, not like each other?
In 2020 some guy made a video saying "why Vettel and Aston Martin are the perfect fit" and look how it went. In F1 you can't predict anything
Is there currently a case in 2022-2023 for Pierre Gasly in McLaren in purely terms of performance? Considering how low Denial Ricciardo set that bar.
Already has signed for alpine in a multi year deal
with Alonso not being able to get out of Alpine and how they dealt with the whole Piastri situation, I’m not sure any driver moving to Alpine makes any sense…
No one know what level of performance that Piastri would deliver, but with Gasly if the team provide him a great support he will excel
I feel like going to Alpine might be the end of Gasly's career. Based on his performance this year, I don't feel like he will beat Ocon. Gasly has been beaten by Tsunoda on numerous occasions this year, while Ocon has beaten Alonso quite a few times already. So, if you look at that, I don't think Gasly will be better than Ocon. Also taking into consideration that Ocon will most likely be team leader next year, because of his experience at the team, I think Gasly might have some troubles getting up to speed. Combine this with the fact that the atmosphere at Alpine will literally go sub-zero, because those two really don't like each other amd you have a recipe for regular crashes and a lot of points lost due to driver error. If all that happens, one of them will get sacked, and if Ocon indeed is the better driver at that point (which is very likely imho), Gasly goes and I think that might be it for him in F1. Seeing Gasly go would make me sad though, although he is far from my favorite driver (and neither is Ocon), he is a very positive figure in F1 and his story so far has been great. Then again, I'd honestly be sad to see anyone deserving of an F1 seat go, but there's just so much talent and only 20 seats...
"Positive figure", lmao.
Not much into F1 I see?
Everyone sees him as a whiner for a RB seat, practically demanding a second chance and attacking everyone - included Perez - for this perceived slight.
He is mean and disparaging to Tsunoda, and has downplayed his team's efforts and car publicly.
I will be glad to see the last of him in F2 as the midfield wannana he is.
Other than Esteban Ocon, yknow, not exactly liking him.
Still, happy that Pierre moved to a better team!
This is gonna be midfield version of Hamilton-Rosberg 2016
Definitely could see Gasly to Alpine and Herta to AlphaTauri
Maybe gasly to alpine then bring albon back to a red bull team either rbr or at and then get de vries into Williams
I am really rooting for Gastly, I really like him as a driver.
hello john have gud evening
I see this move being done 100% if Colton Herta is permitted a superlicense
Can’t Herta get points for free practice sessions?
Except Pierre hates Esteban - they were close as kids, but competition destroyed their friendship
what about the idea of Mick going to Alpha Tauri?
I dont think yuki is capable of filling gasly’s shoes as team leader
I think Yuki is gone after 2023 anyway once Honda is out fully.
i just wanted drugovich to get into the f1 grid
never did he used the Pierre Bourne call tag 😂
Alpine is french manufacturer ocon and gasly too are from France that basically makes them the French national team.
It will only happen IF Herta is allowed to race
I want Yuki and Liam together since they were both roommates before and are friends, As a Pierre fan as well I wouldn't mind Alpine at all
John Warren confirmed Carti fan
Big rips to Yuri vips
Gasly and Ocon beef next season >
These ads… have to wait 30-40 seconds before I can watch the video
Pieeeeeeere Gaslyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!
Red bull was fair to gasly, I think they put him too early into the main RB seat, as he was still developing at torro rosso. He just simply never perform at RBR, really hope a switch to alpine works out for him, really rooting for it and him
Finally the goat is back
F1 NEEDS team driver drama. Gasley vs Ocon is good Alpine Team Drama.
commenting for the algorithm
He and ocon don’t like each other very much though so if gasly goes to alpine I suspect their will be crashes and other incidents like ocon and Perez at force India
Yuki Spinoda is ready to become a team leader ?
Alpha is drowning. If i were Alpha i would hire Lawson and Shumacher both for a season given how many juniors they have.
I don't agree because he's gonna clash with Ocon, they don't get along well at all
Gasly remains in AT in 2023 is as making sense as Herta in AT in 2023. No offense to Herta, but I prefer Mick Schumi to AT whenever possible. American wise, wait for Logan Sargant to prove his worth in 2024 perhaps
As a norwegian this shit is not good. My fav driver is gasly❤️ but my main wish right now is for dennis hauger too have an amazing season if f2 next year and the be able to jump in the f1 seat at alphatauri… so pierre moving now is bad news for hauger.
6:27 such heresy, talking about our Lord like that... kkkkkkkk
I don’t think it makes sense in the way that it rules him out of winning championships.
He’s good enough to be racing with one of the 3 tops teams. I think it would make more sense for him to stay with AT until either Checo leaves RB or Hamilton retires from Mercedes.
Moving to Alpine could be a nice payout and a slightly better car, but it’s locking him out of major success for at least however many years.
It does sound like a good idea to have a French driver racing for a French team, but let's not forget that Gasly and Ocon hasn't really been best friends. Maybe Otmar have the magical power to bring those two together in harmony, but no one knows really.
This is the issue. If Gasly and Ocon don’t resolve this anytime soon, they’ll put the team in jeopardy in a similar light to 2021 Haas
I’m one of those people who don’t think Gasly to Alpine is a good move. Think about it. Ocon and Gasly still have beef so to have both of them in one team would not be a good look. While yes his performance got worse at AT, I think he should look for other teams. Alpine just isn’t for him imo
RIP daniels career
RIP Mick’s Career😭😭
As cool as this would be it probably ruins Doohan or Martins F1 chances
Funny that so many of the problematic driver pairings involve ocon…
nooo
Yeah I hope he gets the seat, over Ricciardo and Mick tbh
@Harry Balls What xD ??? Mick was absolute trash at the start of the season with his crashes since Silverstone Mick started to do something Kmag is way clear of him he is getting destroyed by him as of right now.
@@winter3040 I am sorry to tell you, However It is 11:5 for Mick vs Magnussen in race results haha. Since Miami and Spain, Mick is outpacing Magnussen constantly.
Helmut's fascination with Yuki Tsunoda is one of the big mysteries of the universe for me. An inexperienced, irascible, overall mediocre driver? Team leader, please!
Alonso to Alpine again, the AM deal will fall through.
Sorry. Just don't rate PG. It's not like he's seriously outperforming his significantly less experienced and more clutzy teammate every week. That said, maybe this will be the making of him.
Shame DRs brand continues to be damaged by his performances at McLaren as ideally, he could go to Alpine on a 1 year deal in the hope of recovering his mojo, with the option based on his performance, of an extension.
I wouldn't have DR back to be honest. He made a stellar season and was making progress and then ditched them anyway. He is to blame tbh, they gave him everything he wanted and that monster of a contract. But he was not patient. And he didn't believe in the team. Why would the team put faith back into him now? He is not better than when he left and made them look like clowns.
