- So Williams have finally dropped Nicholas Latifi (a decision nobody was surprised by, I'm sure), but why did they do it?
Sorry for the lateness of this video lmao

Latifi is still the only driver to have set a purple sector then finish bottom of qualifying
GOAT level stuff
The first driver on track of any Q session always sets purple sectors (and in the first 2022 round all sectors were purple all the time because of some software glitch).
@@KAMiKAZOW IIRC Latifi got his near the end of the session and in Hungary.
Kind of unfair as he's pretty much the only one who consistently can finish the same position in qualy
What does this mean? Fastest sector or something?
Clearly the FIA have ran out of schemes to stop GOATifi's potential dominance, and have threatened Williams to drop him. Sad
Very disappointed in MaFIA's attitude here. The GOAT will not be stopped😈
I was gonna say something unfunny, but the maFIA have me in hell
hahahaha best comment thank you
Correction Toto Wolff
Yes, that is the only possible explanation!
“There was a wall, and Latifi hit it” Haven’t laughed that hard in ages. Love your videos
thanks man!
That made me LOL so much too! 😂
The WallLord Latifi
In Japan FP2 Latifi took a safety lane instead of the track and blamed the car again 😂
I 100% agree with what you said at the end of the video. We often call drivers that do bad in f1 “terrible” but we forget that this is f1. Latifi is a good driver, just not for f1 standards.
glad you agree! i think that's a point that a lot of people miss out, that while Latifi is not great for an F1 driver, he's still miles better than you or me!
I really hope Latifi succeeds at another category. Maybe Indy or DTM.
@Alex Talks F1 Mazepin's team already won an offroad race iirc
Yeah, roast what we want about Latifi but there's no way I can beat even his time on the sim, nor not spin the car even once. Remember those F1 cars do not have TC / ABS...
@@zef9151
*Mazepin's team already won an offroad race*
Yes in Tanks!
If you ever feel useless, just remember that there is a video explaining why Latifi lost his seat
We both clicked on it my dude
Being a Williams fan in last 3 years was painful experience. While, on one hand, you had Russell and Albon pushing the car to the maximum and occasionally bringing some joy, on other hand you had Latifi doing absolutely nothing. And yes, he really is that bad that he's holding entire team back. Even when he didn't finish in points, Albon at least managed to hold his own against Astons, Alfas and Haass(?) while Latifi was comfortably losing to all of them. I wish him all the best luck in the future, but I'm so glad that he finally got the boot.
I've always felt so bad for the team engineers and Williams crew. You spent your life studying and mastering your craft only for your product to be driven by Latifi. That would've been so demoralizing. I'm glad he got sacked
@@stevePDx must be demoralising for him always being in the slowest car on the grid, must be time for the engineers to be sacked.
why u all hate latifi is not up to f1 standards

Latifi is actually the worst driver on the grid in the last few years. Its amazing Williams kept him for this long - they should have dropped him when they managed to get rid of Stroll.
"I don't know what happened there." Blaming the wall is the ultimate CHADtifi move
I believe in GOATifi so much that I know, even if he isn't on track or in that country for the future races, in many future races he will still spin somewhere, bringing out a SC in the last 10 laps of many races to make them more exciting - please remember that GOATifi has never used more than 10% of his power, not the GOAT we deserve but the GOAT we need...
Respect
Do we really need a 9-minute clip to say that they wanted De Vries?
Frankly, yes
yes
See 😂😂😂
Yes.
not really... unless there are jokes on it 😄
I backed Latifi all the way last season and even celebrated his P7 finish in Hungary. I cried tears of joy with George as well, but this season it irks me when he keeps blaming the car when you have so many people working their socks off to make the car drivable. No car is suited to every driver on the grid even Hamilton struggled to adapt at the start but Latifi being a bench marker couldn't put his head down and just drive the absolute nuts off the car like K mag, Albon or Bottas who all drive nearly the same machinery as him!
This aged well
Latifi points
You are the only one who made a biography for goatifi in F1
F1 is business and Latifi just ain't gonna cut it just by bringing financial backing though he saved williams during their hard days but if you ain't performing you're expected to be then don't be surprised to be shown the door. I feel sorry for him, my hopes are that he finds a racing series where he can excel and prove his skill.
6:57 i think when he said that he was referring to Nyck's finishing position
The F1 community: GOATifii!
Williams: Alright, go Latifi. Get someone who actually has some talent

so sad to see goatifi go, but as someone who's seen the monza gp, i think it has opened williams mind to replace him with de vries, will williams finally enter points just like in 2021 with russel?
i hope so! and yeah i don’t think williams had a difficult decision from monza😂

@@Kangiru_Noah yeah np mate, maFiA doesnt want you to know how powerful driver goatifi is
To be honest in comparism with Paydrivers of the past (I am looking at you Lavaggi and Yoong) Latifi is doing a solid job. The thing is though he is still slow. Though I find it funny that he is better in rainy conditions which are usually more tricky then dry conditions. then again the wet track slows you down so there is that too
Love ur vids man high quality
Thank you! :)
outdated GOATIFI just scored points
Writing was on the wall for latifi sadly I think major reason he has struggled this year is just simply he can't get use to this year's cars I think if the regs had stayed the same I think he would of improved even more he still leaves us with some good memories points he had the highest finish for Williams in a race since 2017 (not counting Russell 2nd in Belgium wasn't a race really) and personally met nicky at Silverstone this year such a nice guy so I wish him all the best for whatever the future may hold for him
Aww this is such a lovely comment.

If I’m Jost Capito,I will sign Mick if De Vries went to AlphaTauri.I mean Logan should spent a year or more in F2.
And Danny Ric is too expensive(sadly)
So the obvious choice would be Mick.
Danny would drive for free. He's already got next year's salary from McLaren.
@@hotwings9382 Wasn't it that he only got that money if he didn't get a drive?
Abu Dhabi may have really damaged him, he was doing pretty well that year, but dropped off immediately in 2022.
abu dhabi was just a meme, 2022 is why he's leaving
@@GarkKahn He received a lot of death threats for that crash, who knows how that affected him.
Goatifi proved his haters wrong! He scored them points finally !😂
I don't think the Williams is a "midfield" car, but it absolutely isn't "20 points behind second to last" bad. They should at least be battling the Aston for scraps and it's as much a testament to Vettel's driving level as it is Latifi's futility that Williams aren't even close.
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago, the second best time is now... The best time to drop Latifi was two seasons ago, the second best time is now. Best of luck in Formula E/WEC/whatevers next.
Was thinking about no matter how bad this season has been, he's still got to F1 and having one of the best jobs in the world.
Song at the end is:
Push N' Glide - WELI
2021 was good from Latifi, by the end of the season he was even out qualifying Russell. I think the aftermath of Abu Dhabi hurt his season prep. Also he's showen to be a slow learner which I think is also why he's struggling. I also don't like people saying De Vries was always the obvious choice. This year De Vries had a bad year in Formula E while his teammate won the championship. However I agree, Latifi does not deserve a drive for next season.
Personality and financial backing aren't enough for F1 Drivers. With williams being in dire straights the last few years they literally had to hurry up and wait for the new technical regulations + cost cap + wind tunnel sliding scale to give them a break to rest. With the finances that goatifi brought on not being essential plus knowing that Russel was going to be heading to mercedes in 2022, I think his fate was sealed once Albon was signed on.
i really hope to see de vries, vips or lawson in the williams seat tho de vries probably gonna get the seat
vips's career is over
Lawson and vips don't have super licenses and won't by the end of this year. So I wouldn't hope to much, especially as like the guy above said vips is more than likely not even going to be on the f2 grid next year unless he buys a team
@@elcactusdelamuerte506 i do know this but still we can dream
@@blobfishking9419 You can dream, but it’s literally impossible for Vips or Lawson to get the seat next year. In Vips case likely impossible any year, he doesn’t have the financial backing or proven himself a good enough driver to be worth the PR issues.
John do you do CZcams full time? Great work by the way mate
De Vries is signed up to race for Maserati in FE next year, but as Albon has shown, when F1 comes calling other championships will let their drivers go.
Indeed, every driver would do everything to get into f1, and the same to stay in it
Latifi still isn't a bad racing driver at all, he's just a bad Formula 1 driver. I think he can find plenty of success in other categories of racing and I hope he does race in other categories.
Yeah he'll probably do alright in anything that isn't openwheel. F1 is just a step above.
Brilliant video...
1. If I was the Williams CEO... I`m going for DeVries or Logan Sargeant (who will get his F1 Licence end of the year). *LaThiefy is a gonner...*
2. Juan Manuel Fangio had 52 starts in F1 and netted 5 F1 Championships... Latifi had 52 starts in F1 and netted 5 crashes in F1.
ur unfunny

@@Footballracerart very well indeed.
I heard Williams and FIA agreed to put weights on Goatifis car in order to slow him down, so Hamilton or Verstappen dont look bad.
6:06 I’m not 100% sure that is true. Nyck is the first driver to drive for two teams in one weekend for a very long time, but not the first ever. This was discussed at length during the broadcast during the Italian GP qualifying and some true F1 afficiandos figured out the answer. I think they said the first was Brabham? Either way, only a handful of drivers throughout the history of the sport have done this, so it’s an accomplishment either way.
I actually think Sargeant will get the Williams seat, do you think its possible? I think they are waiting until the F2 season finishes to make sure he has a super license and then they will sign him. If he doesnt get his super license I think they will go for De Vries.
I think DeVries will go to Alpha Tauri, Gasly to Alpine, and Sargeant to Williams

He’s paying them to drive it. That fact is the only reason he’s in F1.
That said, there have been many worse drivers than him in F1, but for sure he has not improved this year, so it’s time for Williams to indeed start paying for drivers to see where some talented guys will take them.

I feel like the Williams is the slowest car but it is way closer to the rest than what latifi's performance suggests and that gives albon the chance to show his talent and beat some faster cars that people think are way faster than what they truly are.
Who's here after Latifi's latest masterpiece against Zhou in Singapore?

Hello, love your videos!
thanks Tommy!
Latifi spun out today. Randomly, just because, messed up his tires completely and had to get 4 brand new ones, just on lap 5. (COTA 2022)
just remember Mick Schumacher in the absolute trash bin of the 2021 Haas was managing to race up to and sometimes beat Latifi
Dear F1. We are sooo sooo sorry. Signed, Canada.
Great video👍❤️
Mr "I was suprised that there was so little grip on the gravel" Monza 2022. Yes, Latifi actually sayd that when he went off the track because he was battling another driver in his mind, because the driver wasnt even there. Grosjean, Mazepin were all pretty bad F1 drivers but Latifi really takes the cake. He has payed for his seat until now but daddys money only gets him so far.
Williams dropped Latifi because he is not good enough to race in F1.
Williams only started Latifi because he did the bare minimum of winning a superlicense in F2 and had a billionaire father.
Why! would they drop the GOAT himself!? Because Latifi is above racing at this point. He's ready to be on the GOATS pantheon and rise with the stars that no longer race like Schumacher,Senna etc etc.
F1 didn't work out for him. I'm hoping he can be like Ericcson and have success in other categories. Seems like a genuinely nice guy and I wish him well for the future.
great video friend, really really nice content thanks
In my opinion, Latifi isn't that bad a driver in his own right. I would not place him in the same category as the Rossets, Deletrazes, and Inoues of F1 past, but the current talent pool is so good that a below average driver just looks out of their depth. What makes criticizing Latifi so much more challenging is that he seems like such a nice dude.
He isn't a nice dude. He keeps blaming the car for his poor performance, which demeans the mechanics and engineers who worked on the car.
They couldn't handle the GOAT of motorsport.
Goatifi has left the chat.

About time
I think latifi should go race indycar, as a spec series i think it may serve him better and he may even score points more frequently.
If he keeps racing, I see it more likely he'll go to Formula E. I cant say why but I don't think that he'd fit any better in Indy.
He’d get eaten alive straight away in Indy racing.
Fucking hell, an indycar might be the worst open-wheel car he could end up in. They only really perform on the ragged edge of traction, with the rear end moving around quite a bit on power, and while they're apparently fairly predictable at the limit, the lack of power steering means you need to be on top of the inevitable oversteer literally as it happens, or you aren't going to catch it in time. Also, I don't trust him to not throw some stupid block on an oval and send someone into the catch fencing Wickens-style. Stick him in something that can take a few whacks, with more consistent handling, and see how he does at the very least before letting him touch an indycar.
Goatifi finally starting to earn some points after the championship is already decided!
Latifi would muck up a bowl of cereal and blame the spoon
Pay drivers are very necessary for certain teams to stay in business. Goatifi did his job, now the team has some decent points, and the next driver should be able to build on the progress and cash payout the team gets.
Imagine Goatifi in a Redbull or a Mercedes
Everyone would be disqualified for being too slow againts the goat
What is the name of this background music?
Better title “why latifi dropped williams”
Never ever had any type of feelings about this guy. Never hated nor liked him. But did always think he ain’t cut out for F1. And then I saw Japanese Free Practice this year… yeah I’m glad he’s on his way out.
The funny thing is the only reason they kept Latifi this year was they thought since it was a new car and he was experienced that his input would help them with upgrades and what not… it’s like yeah so the only thing he does is makes it go slower…
As for the Williams question I actually think it's a pretty decent car and Albon is an average driver, Latifi is really THAT bad. I reckon at least half the grid would outperform Albon in the same car and Latifi is literally 21/20 with zero points.
He didnt say 15th was where the car should be. He said that where Nick finished is where it should be but he lost spots at the start and his car is good for defending and not attacking
Nick definitely isn’t the first to drive two cars on one weekend, think there’s been like two or three others with caveats that the Sky team talked about during the broadcast.
Say what you like about Latifi, but he scored a point for Williams in a far shorter amount of time than Russell did 👌🏻
I don't think the Williams is the slowest car this year but I don't think it can compete with the midfield like Alpine or Mclaren.
I mean... they have 6 points.
It's definitely the slowest car this year.
Lmfao the only people who would say this are Aston Martin or Haas fans. It doesn't matter what graph or data you look at Williams are comfortably the slowest
Team can finally fill up budget to the cap and don't need 40M per season (35M net including all his "oopsies").
Goatifi made sure that Russell gets promotion (despite scoring points 1 second before in "Clutch" performance). And that Albon gets good return to F1 grid (with fast enough car, not bothering to slow him down) and paved road for De Vries to F1 (he knew exactly how fast is Wiliams at Monza as his 2 first laps in Q1 was withing tenth of De Vries but he "I don't know what happened" to be more far back away from spotlight).
Now when F1 is in good state, it is time for Goatifi to go on. But his legacy will stay in F1 forever (that is pretty long time) =))
Latifi is an absolute nightmare and caused Lewis his 8th championship. Doesn't anyone get that?
Is a real mistake, bring back GOATifi.
De Vries signed with AlphaTauri today!
I think that the Williams could finish in the point more regularly with a better second driver but I still think they're ways off of getting into the fight with the current back markers.
Surprised this is even in question.
Arguably this season the reason why he is complaining so much about the car is that he just really bad at handling cars that are as unruly as the current Williams is. He showed better performance last season, and last season was the last year that cars made a lot more downforce, which would have been much more confidence inducing. And Williams was reportedly the draggiest of all on the grid last year. As a result, we saw much better performances from him. The dramatic change in concept hurt him, and as he isn't as talented as most the drivers on the grid he has faltered significantly.
Given how Albon has managed to clinch some points in the past few races and how Latifi has been beaten by every team mate he has been with, it's safe to say that Latifi is the one holding back Williams. The car may be the slowest on the grid but so is Aston Martin or Alfa Romeo yet both those teams are able to get points because they have more or less 2 drivers that can work their way up the ladder. In Williams' case, it always feels like just one driver is actually performing as intended (Albon). If anything the large amount of grid penalties some drivers have been taking should be a blessing for Williams, and Albon/De Vries have taken advantage of that in Spa and Monza, yet Latifi still fails to do so.
Even if Latifi was able to match Albon's performances they would only have 8 points. Williams is clearly the most uncompetitive team this year yet again.
@@soundscape26 Yet Albon was able to score points whenever possible anyway and that's the key here. Albon showed that scoring points in the sport's slowest car is possible given the right circumstances and that he can still finish ahead of cars that are supposedly faster than him.
@@dustinabigan2776 I'm not defending Latifi at all... nice chap but painfully slow. Just that Williams is the slowest car this year, answering John's question in the video... Williams is definitely not a "solid midfielder".
@@soundscape26 Am just saying that even if it is the slowest car, it can still score points, even last year that was the case. And granted that there is likely something in Williams that is holding them back, Latifi is the obvious reason why they can't maximize results every week. Slowest car or being a backmarker doesn't mean the team is hopeless in scoring points.
I'm not saying you're defending Latifi, I'm simply stating the fact that Latifi is holding back the team way more than expected, and that's been made more evident when De Vries got points on his first race. Williams has the setup for straight line speeds as shown with Spa and Monza, but only one driver is taking actual advantage of this while the other is still drowning. It's clear Latifi needs to go and only then can there be more focus on any issues at Williams.
To sum it up, I saw another comment here comparing Albon's performance compared to Latifi's. Albon showed that he was capable of holding his own against faster cars regardless if they are points finishes or not, yet Latifi can't do so in any circumstance.
What is your sector 1 q1 colour round Hungary
Good rant. Agreed...
I believe Williams has among the slowest cars in F1 currently, given that they have one of the lowest budgets. But the likes of Bottas, Vettel and Gasly has proven that low-budget cars can be fast. Ultimately, it comes down to Latifi simply not being as fast as the other drivers currently in F1.
