I like how you drill it down into the detail. I've been singing alternative and rock for the past years, and had to learn the slow and hard way, though with some guidance from my sister who's a chorale singer. I've considerably improved a lot, though recently haven't been doing it as often, I've learned to sing with ease and comfort. Maybe its different when you say the vowels because in the philippines “A E I O U” has different pronunciation “E” is more of Ehh and not Eee and “I” is ihh and not “ahy”. Ehh (E) ihh (I) for more clear sound we drop out jaws to make the distinction.
But i really like how you evaluate the singing. Hope to see more morissette and filipino (philippines) content. Because we are just happy to see foreign reactors (our nature). And if you react on filipino singers youll get more subs for sure :D

that, btw, was live. though there were some technical manipulations which enhanced her voice, still, sitting there while beating and hitting those high notes was superb!
The Wish Bus 107.5 is a mobile radio station that broadcasts LIVE. This means that you hear the songs exactly as the singer sings it, in real time. It is equipped to have good acoustics of course, but it is NOT a recording studio. The only post work done here was the video edit, but, even that is basically run and gun...
Just thought you should know this if you plan to react to another wish bus performance.

Live broadcasting doesn't mean there are no effects added. You can without any problem add some reverb/compression in real time. BUT ! It's necessary to give that pure, quality sound. Therefore it's NOT a bad thing. Even if this bus' room is acoustically optimized, effects are still required to give depth to the voice (as Sam said), especially when you're singing over a backing track. On the other hand, I wouldn't mind hearing Morissette singing in front of me, in a small crappy room, without mics and PCs. I'd still get goosebumps without any doubt. She's amazing, one of a kind !
Just like at concerts, you can add whatever effects you want to a live performance. Cf pedals, monitors etc.

oooh... This is the first song she sang that made me know her. Because of this song I began to love her. I don't have idea about techniques but I love the emotion within her songs. She is great and her voice control is pretty damn good! Your breakdown was technically awesome! Yes, they are using some effects, of course as this was a live radio show and her voice needs to be heard in a special way! Let's say, her little transitions, vocal cracks, pronunciation and there are tons of other factors as well! Our ears knows better when our brain process everything and our eyes start visualizing. You should react to Sunyoul singing Tears in Masked singer, he is a guy but erveryone thought he was a woman because of his voice. I don't know if you've done it, but her live performance of Never Enough was actually really good too. Like you said, it sounded a little bit different because it's on the stage, in a big hall, and plus the quality of the video influence the tone of her voice too, but, it still sounds similar to this studio style setting. Still very good and very breathtaking.

She chooses to have those breaks. Artistic choices. Just like artistic using growls when singing. Often artists use those techniques to differentiate their covers and/or original songs from others.
It's like a voice signature.
