Perrie started the song that way because it was supposed to be Jesy, but she had a panic attack prior to start this performance, so Perrie jumped in and sang her part and made sure Jesy was okay until she'd calmed herself, so she was ready to continue with the song later on...
I’m sorry how does Perrie’s diction relate to Jessy’s panic attack?
@@harmyk1 she never rehearsed or sang this part until this performance
@@harmyk1 go to Jesy's instagram page and watch the rehearsal and read the caption
@@harmyk1 They do care for each other, if one is sad all of them is trying to be happy but deep down they're also sad. They are not the "girlgroup" you know where overpowering is always happening between bandmates. They are not like them sorry
@@mixerblinkmoomooneverland7718 thats really sweet but that has absolutely nothing to do with enunciating the lyrics.. youre just saying them so people can understand you.
Leigh Anne really stands out in this performance to me.
Absolutely. She's fantastic.
I think Perrie does. That sustained open note was absolutely divine
Yea. Love her🦋💞
Both perries and Leigh’s voices are the strongest and most clear they have been in years.
Sierra Star actually this is the most perrie has struggled. Her strongest was her weird era. Her voice needs more rest but she did better here then any recent performance just needs more rest. Leigh is killing it though this era is her time to shine for once.
8:52 just casually slays the high note in the harmony mid sentence like it's nothing haha. Nice!
Dude if its not too much to ask could you also check put a cover I made :) completely understand if you wish not to! Have an amazing day
czcams.com/video/CElH6WAgE3s/video.html
You skipped jesys part
Perrie has a very natural musical theater vocal style where everything is precise, so it's an artistic choice to make everything sound cooler or even more modern and hip... I dont think it gets annoyng like Ariana's diction, but she fights with her own instincts to become more versitlie and I love it (I tend to do the same).
You worded this perfectly actually
I love that he went right to Leigh-Anne =p she's always the most underrated singer from the group, but girl she improved the most
She always had great versatility, which led her to sing out of her comfort zone more than the other ones. :-)
I know, I'm so proud of Leigh! 🥺❤
YES MORE LITTLE MIX pls. their cover of "holy grail/smells like teen spirit/counting stars" is really good as is their paper penthouse performance of "touch and shout out to my ex"
leigh anne (the girl with the trench coat and cool braid) has really honed her skills over the years. she has such noticeable improvements with each of their albums, i'm always so proud of her. i love hearing people in your field mention her.
loved this video! i'm a big fan of little mix and their covers have always been hit or miss for me for the reasons you spoke of.
this isn't a bad performance and a casual listener could tell that they're talented. but LM have this habit of making stylistic choices in acoustic performances that are unnecessary for their skill level.
they've shown throughout their career that they've got the natural talent and hard-earned skills to perform with a more clean, clear sound. yet they regularly give these breathy, head shaky, low enunciation performances that, as a fan, sometimes leave me disappointed and wishing for another version.
granted, that is where mixers are spoiled. LM performances are diverse enough that us fans will download multiple acoustic, a cappella, and band accompaniment versions of one song because LM bring something new to every performance they do.
maybe that's why i get disappointed with these radio 1 sessions where they choose the styles that aren't my favorite sound from them, because i won't get another version🥺 real spoiled girl shit🥺
that got a long🙈 haha i'm sorry, this video brought about feelings that i suppose are similar to what you went through with your christina aguilera "reflection" video
anyway, i love little mix and i love your channel, thank you for doing this!
i think leigh anne was her favorite in the first reaction he did of them (in case you didn't know)
Leigh Anne my fave❤
He didn't react to Jesy😭
i noticed that too i was like WAIT A MINUTE
Unacceptable:((((
Cause she's too breathy.
@@keeks4914 uhm wha- that's the reason??
Yep. Sadly.
Thank you for reacting to Little Mix, and yes Leigh Anne has developed her voice and confidence the most through the years. Hope you’ll react again to them in the future. Loveee your reactions. Please do an analysis of Lea Salonga and Eva Noblezada as Kim at Miss Saigon!!
I just really like Sam's way of explaining things also long haired sam >>>
^!!!
Return of the hair!
wow never knew aragorn was so good at voice teaching
nicest thing i've ever heard
oh, and they don't tend to be so breathy... They just try to be versatile. They use full voice all the time, specially Leigh and Perrie
You're so different from other vocal reaction channels. You explain things thoroughly, which makes it easier to actually learn. Thank you.
Love how you focus on the technical aspects rather than just how lovely they sound!
Thank you very much for listening to our requests and supporting Little Mix ❤🤗
my queens, love them and I'm hoping they'll get more recognition all over the world
Absolutely phenomenal performance can’t believe how amazing and unique each one of them is.
I hadn't watched you in a long while and completely forgot how much I enjoy you explaining how the voice works. I love it!
YESSSS I WAS WAITING FOR YOU!
Thanks, Sam! Always love to hear your thoughts
THANK YOU for reacting to this!! 😭😍🙌
I see Little Mix? I click. Loved this reaction
So happy you reacted to this! yay!!!
Yassss. Thanks coach sam. Been waiting for this ❤️
I slept while listening to him talk.
I was genuinely surprised to hear the comments about Perrie's annunciation. She sounds as clear to me as always here and not difficult to understand at all.
yeah im baffled, it is like he is trying his hardest to talk them down, saying their runs are sloppy and he cant understand her?
Yeah that confused me aswell. Her voice was the clearest its been in a long time and her annunciation was spot on. Its actually very difficult to maintain that vulnerable sound and keep the strong annunciation but she did it perfectly.
Really? Because I honestly had trouble understanding her in both of her parts (never heard the song before) and I continue to hear different things than what the lyrics actually say even though I've checked them multiple times now. Then again, I think Perrie often trades enunciation for tone, not just this time. And I personally don't mind! I'd rather hear a beautiful voice rather than "just" well enunciated words. BUT that's why I can totally understand and agree with Sam's critique on that matter.
Also (hopefully not offending anyone), enunciation is the correct term here, being synonymous with the word articulation. An annunciation is a type of proclamation, often used in religious contexts referring to the Virgin Mary and her conceiving of Jesus as announced by the Archangel Gabriel.
Her voice couldn't of been clearer for me. I knew the song before hand but not the lyrics and I understood her just fine.
To me they all sound perfect I love them and their voices so much 💕
Thank you for your honest opinion! Love your videos
You should see the video "acapella queens", show more of their harmonies!!!
I liked this before even watching hahaha. I’m obsessed with little mix and clicked as soooon as I saw!!!! I watch everyone’s reactions to them hehehe
Thanks Sam!
Same🥰
I agree the breathiness isn't my favorite style. I feel they're really talented singers though and they showed off their vocal flexibility. I would have preferred more enunciation and less runs. The number of runs took me out of emotionally connecting with it a little bit. Extremely undeniably talented singers though
I appreciate the objective analysis. I watch these videos to learn about their voices and constant praise with no critique doesn't help with that. I'm disappointed that you edited out Jesy's solo part but I think with your comments about the amount of breathy vocals I can take a guess and say you didn't love her part. I hope that despite some fans in the comments being rude you'll continue to react to them because I enjoy your reactions a lot. You probably won't see this with the amount of comments this video already has but on the off chance you do, can I ask whether or not you could tell that Jesy had a panic attack minutes beforehand? I've seen other coaches with different artists say they could tell a singer had been crying or upset beforehand because of the way their voice sounded. None of the professionals who have reacted to this have commented on it and so I'm wondering if it just wasn't noticeable.
i didn't notice it
@@SamJohnsonVoice Oh, wow, I didn't think you'd reply. Thank you! I just want to say sorry for the negativity in the comments. I don't think you said anything to deserve it. Your critique was balanced and honest.
@@SamJohnsonVoice can I ask whether you get offended by a critique of your critique? It's not meant to be rude though some people are getting upset on your behalf.
OMG I WAS WAITING FOR THIS! Thank you so much Sam!! ❤️
Hey Sam, you mention your voice teacher every once in awhile, I thought it would be cool if you did a video of your voice teacher analyzing you singing a song
Thank you, I’m learning a lot, love to hear what you’re talking about 👍😊
I HAVE NEVER BEEN THIS EEEAAARRRLLYYY. anddd I'm caffeinated. Love your style!
A question, he had to re edit the video?? Because it didn't show Jesy :(
Thank you so much!!! More little mix please🙏🙏🙏
It's been a while Sam....👀🙄 But I'm not complaining, he finally gave us the long overdue Little Mix reaction!🙏❤
I thought Perrie's begining was really beautiful. And idk maybe it's because I'm not a singer but I just don't hear the sloppiness in their runs.
Perrie’s voice is beautiful. She just has somethings she can work on.
I'd love to see more of little mix at acapella, they are the queens when it comes to that love u Sam have a good day
a very interesting take ! i mean we as fans don't pay attention to all these details and just think they sound great 💜 i would really love to see you work with them and watch how much of a change that would bring to their vocals
He literally cut perrie off at the best vocal moment 😐
This was one of my absolute favorite performances from them. I'm loving the appreciation Leigh is receiving...
I LOVE when you react to Little Mix!! Please do more :)))
i would love to see you react to a performance of them where they are not just standing still but dancing around ! these girls sound incredible even with intense choreo and it just blows my mind ! a great example is their epic performance of woman like me at the Brits 2019
This guy is mad authentic. I like him.
I THINK this was their first performance together, as in the same room, since Covid... As far as the breathyness... that was just a stylistic choice for this particular song/performance; You should check out Power by them.
Will you do Mad World by Pentatonix? I would love to hear your thoughts!
Love that song
The jaw IS an articulator. It’s a part of the vocal tract, and it should be trained along the rest of the structures. Adjusting the jaw is not a synonym of tension, it’s indeed necessary to produce certain sounds.
Perrie Edwards slay this song please react to perrie edwards all by myself cover
Love your channel
thank you!
Wait why didn’t you listen Jesy’s part?
I have to say I never understand the annunciation comments. This is legit my second time ever hearing this song (I don’t really listen to pop anymore but loved little mix back in the day so thought I’d check out this reaction) but I understand all her words ? But I think you said it’s subjective so that’s probably it? Idk
Can you do Silverchair - Tomorrow Live MTV. They were only 15 years old
Great video as always! Please can you analyse more Sigrid, pleeeeease. Thanks :)
I love when you react to them
Me waiting for more Little mix in this channel!
Reinas vocales , merecen más estás chicas
Yassss, the long hair is back. Keep it, Sam! It looks good on you.
Can you do Silverchair (live at the civic theatre Newcastle)? Daniel does some crazy stuff with his voice and I'd particularly like to know what you think about how he pronounces vowels/words. Mainly on songs like After All These Years, Tuna In The Brine, Across The Night, Ana's Song, and Miss You Love. Love your channel and all that you do Sam!
They are queens of harmonies
pls react more Demi Lovato's perfomances
I would love your opinion on Little Mixs Apple Music set from 2018
Can you please react to a singer call Faouzia. All of her songs are incredible especially the stripped versions(preferably do those if you are ever gonna react to her)
I’ve love to see Sam analyze the different sounds Leslie Odom Jr uses in different songs in Hamilfilm but I don’t want him to get copyright striked (copyright stricken?)
Please react to them singing these four walls
Please react to Jasmine Sullivan’s run in “Insecure” and the singers who did the Insecure challenge and tried to recreate it!
Speaking of Live Lounge, Sam, I'd love to hear your take on London Grammar's cover of "Wrecking Ball." 🙂
PLS ANALYSE "Little Mix Acapella Queens updated version (2020)
I Know The End by Phoebe Bridgers is something i never thought i’d like but i love it
Loved this! I would really love to see your opinion on Mariah Carey's GMA performance of vision of love 2020!
I'd love to see you react to Chloe X Halle again 🙃. Any live performance would be amazing. I recommend you watching their "Fall" performance at the Today's Show in 2016 or their cover of "A change is gonna come" (you can find it in the "Chloe x Halle Updates" channel). Love your vids🤗❤
Yasssss‼️‼️‼️‼️
Fall from Revolt Live is their best version of that song !!!
Hi Sam!
Please react to "I'm here" performance by Cynthia Erivo.
Why did you skip jesy's part out?
Thank you for reacting to little mix! Can you react to their paper penthouse performance of “Touch” and “Shout out to my ex”
Great analysis! Would you be interested in analyzing Blessed the Broken Road - Rascal Flatts at the Grand Ole Oprey? Really awesome version with great harmonies too.
I'd love to see a colab with you and Marc Daniel Patrick! It would be fun to hear Marc's analysis on the acting/character development side of a Broadway performance, and yours on the vocal side. Your videos are similar, and I think you'd make a great team and it would make for a fun video.
Agreed but I also just love Sam talking about broadway performances! (Which is sadly unpopular apparently smh)
I'd love to see your reaction to yungblud's live lounge of seniorita/back to black
would love to hear your opinion on natalia jimenez (maybe a duet she did with carlos rivera, just anything really lol)
Forgive me by Chloe x Halle love is amazing and I would love to see your reaction to it!
Totally digged your example of the wide vowel with "Again" had blink 182 vibes and i'm so down to hearing a cover of this song in a punk rock genre
What happened at the end?
Can you react to perrie Edwards 1+1 cover or perrie Edwards cover of all by myself. Her voice is so powerful and just amazing also I love your videos ❤️❤️😍
Your analytics is on spot. Great!
OMG IVE NEVER BEEN THIS EARLY
Yessssss more Little Mix!!
I think analyzing Mariah's voice is the most interesting. For example analyzing her acapella singing to her fans I think it's titled mariah carey special private performance for fans or her singing with her mother who is an opera singer would be a great way to differentiate between their techniques.
Hi Sam, I note that you ask for suggestions of things to react to....I wonder if "your people" go through all the comments over all the videos you've done and put together a spreadsheet to record everything that's been requested....which would highlight things being requested numerous times??? Perhaps time to consult "your people"
Saaaam, could you be the first one to make an explanation on Christina Aguilera's - I love you Porgy, please? 🙏🏼I'm dying for a professional explanation!
Such interesting and useful insights! An example (in my opinion) of a group that blend really well and don’t sing breathy is GQ quartet.
I’d love to see you react to some Carrie Underwood performances!! I’d love to hear your thoughts.
Love on the brain cover next?
Help me out guys, Sam NEEDS to listen to gimme shelter!! He has to hear merry claytons vocals! I think he will be blown away
Please react to Confetti, acoustic - the girls sounds amazing
Yes plz!
I´m from Germany and my favourite band is AnnenMayKantereit. Next to their own german songs they've done some live performances in english too, like "Made Me Belive" or "September". I would love to hear what you think about Henning's voice. :D
Ich kann mir denken, was Sam sagen wird - Henning sieht und hört sich einfach ungesund an ;) Aber ich liebe seine Stimme trotzdem
Sam, you might have talked about it before but I would love to see an analysis of Christina Aguilera's voice and vocals. People are alway criticizing her lack of technique and throat-y sound. While other praise her tone and agility. To what extend does technique matter if we like what we hear, will it hurt the vocal cords?
Her technique isn't great but its not as bad as everyone makes it out to be. If it was then there's no chance she would be able to sing like she's always done still.
Great video as always Sam! ---- It would be so amazing if you could watch BANKS - Contaminated (1 Mic 1 Take) for a new video. I would love to see your take on what she does to make the sounds she does.
12:36 lol
