1984 Porshe 944. Cranks No Start Diagnosis

This is the first time I'm working on a Porshe 944 so I have to learn how the system is designed so I can figure out what's wrong with it. Checked for spark and injector pulse and during testing for injector pulse the car decides to fix itself. Doing some research it seems the DME/fuel pump relay can cause this as well as a loss of the reference signal. I've ordered a new relay.

I would definitely recommend changing the speed and Reference sensor. they're expensive but worth replacing. Also as A 944 owner I would recommend. keeping a Spare DME relay in the glove box. It's that common of a failure for the 944.

Hi I took one of the injector plugs off and started it and it started. I plugged it back in and now it won’t start. What should I do?

Check for spark, injector pulse, fuel pressure. You're missing something

Maybe you can help me. I just bought a 88 924s and it’s in crank no start condition. It has tach bounce so we checked if it was getting spark and it’s not. The catch is it now has a new ignition coil, plug wires, and spark plugs and still no spark. Any ideas what it might be?

Sorry I just saw this...do you have power to the coil with the ignition on? Check for injector pulse as well.

​@@PhillipBailey how would diagnose such? Mine is a 84 944 crank no start has fuel no tach bounce speed and ref sensor has been replaced. And still no bounce and multimeters spots that run those areas and still nothing not sure if I'm getting spark and everything has been replaced.

I have seen a 86 porshee cx that I like, but the guy said it has been sitting for 10 years and it doesn't start, I have asked him if it still cranks or if it's just silent. He has yet to answer my question. What do you think ? I can give more information once I get answers to the questions I ask him
