Sal, that's a great comparison.. honestly for me, I'd be excited to eat anyone of those options, they all looked incredible!
Thank you! We ate them all up. I don’t sauce chicken that much but i reminded myself why I should!
A masterpiece Sal! A really great video! Chicken looking delicious too!
Thanks Ben!
Time preparing the Lollipop & butterfly vs the old fashioned drumstick????🤔 just feed me already!!! 😂 I've tried doing all 3 methods.. but if your just feeding your family... i'd pick Drumsticks, but if you want a great presentation.. I'd choose the lollipops! Great job Sal...I like how you are always challenging us to think out of the box..👍🏼
yup! i think majority of us just want to eat! forget the presentation lol! I don't buy drumsticks, in fact the only reason I made this video was because all they had was chicken breast and drumsticks and figured it was time to make this video comparison.
Awesome comparison Sal! I think I would choose the butterfly method also. The lollipop presentation was nice but too much prep for me 😂. Thanks for sharing. Cheers 🍻
yeah for real! I think 90% of us grilling out there, just want to cook food as quickly as possible and eat dinner. the prep up time for the lollypops are kind of a pain.
Great comparisons, Sal! The lollipop is a bit more work, but well worth the effort! But honestly, I've yet to butterfly a drumstick... One day, I will give them a try. It looks like you'll still have all the tendens 🤔
you should give butterflying drumsticks a try Kevin! I've been wanting to do it on turkey legs. Might look cool. I still have a lot of experimenting to do with these. I'll be sure to grab me more next time i see them at the grocery store.
Good video, brother. I've canned a lot of turkey over the years and absolutely loath trying to remove all of the connective tissue on the drum sticks, so I'm with you on the lollipop method. I tried the butterfly method last year and we loved it. Thanks for sharing!
thank you! the butterfly method is a good one. thanks for taking a look!
Man that butterfly method looks interesting!
give it a shot!
Good information
thank you!
Having done both, I can tell you that I was far more impressed with lollipop drumsticks. Aside from getting done a bit faster and more surface area for seasoning, butterflied drumsticks aren’t a lot different than regular drumsticks to me. What’s weird though is I did some butterflied Turkey legs on the channel and they were amazing!
As far as lollypop drumsticks go, they win hands down vs butterflied drums lt’s a totally different experience to me. It’s a whole different bite! The trade off is they’re twice as much work to prep. Good stuff as usual!
I think the butterflied method is probably better with bigger sized drumsticks? it had more flavor for me but I am thinking with a dry brine or marinade, it'll make the flavor about the same? but yeah lollypop were juicy as heck. It was cool tasting all 3 side by side. I don't cook drumsticks all that often but now thinking I should!
ps, hope you don't mind me using your clip in the video, wanted to ask for permission but it just got late last night and didn't want to text you at that hour lol
I had no idea you had used it! I wish I hadn’t read this first before watching the video. Hilarious, man!! 😅😅😅
And by the way (not that you’re ever going to do them
again, lol) there’s a tip that will make the bbq sauce look like candy on the lollipops. Warm the bbq sauce up on the grill with the lolly pops then dip them in the warm sauce.
lol, it was a late night addition. but hoping you would like it haha
that's actually a pretty good tip! I'll have to remember that one. I want to make a super bright red sauce next time I do these, to really give them a candy feel. but I'll be sure to heat up before dipping. thanks Ron!
GREAT video!
My man Philip! Thanks brother for taking a look!
@@SJCOOKS I searched and your video was the first on the list!
That’s great! I am hoping this is is something so original that it’ll take some time for CZcams to pickup. Either that or a big CZcamsr will do it and get a ton of views lol
@@SJCOOKS I'm just wondering if the concept was a good idea in general. Who is this video for? Who would watch this? It's not really an instructional video, but it has instructions. It's also kind of like leaning more toward the entertainment side. But anyone searching for how to make these know what they are already and want to learn how to make it. They know the difference. It's also not a huge or "interesting" comparison compared to expensive vs cheap; is it worth it. OR relatable to a larger audience. Like $4 eggs vs $12 eggs.
@@PhilipLemoinegreat points! friend said I should have made two videos. 1 showing how to make butterfly chickens the other showing how to make lollypop chicken then perhaps made a short comparing the two. Now I am thinking of going the other way. making two shorts, each quickly showing how to make the butterflied drumstick and the other short showing how to make the lollipop chicken. i mean it can't hurt, i have the material.
Butterfly method is perfect for turkey legs.
That makes a lot of sense. Thank you! I need to get a hold of some turkey legs this thanksgiving.
#lollipop
they look so awesome!
I like to eat the part that the lollipop chicken legs are missing
i can't do it lol. the wife is all about eating all the little cartilages and stuff on chicken, especially wings. But I just can't haha
@@SJCOOKS we keep geting more and more alike bruh, lol!
