I have 09 and got the clips ons, sprocket changes and M4 exhaust. Worth the upgrades. The only problem I have with the bike, it's 50lbs too heavy. Other than that, love it.

@@joshmorgan794cheaper, more comfort and much more suitable for daily riding. also, there isnt that much difference between the acceleration of the 2 bikes if a good rider is on the fz6r

Its a perfect beginner bike 👍...its so funny the difference between what riders want compared to 15yrs ago. When this bike came out replacing the old FZ6 which was actually an R6 motorcycle detuned a bit but still made about 100hp and was a screamer. This thing made around 60hp. Sportbike guys were pretty upset reviews and sales were bad. But now compared to all these modern parallel twins, your gonna be stomping on them in top speed runs and much more linear being an Inline-4. A few mods can make it a proper Sportbike. Good choice bro.

I have the 2006 fz6 25k miles on it and still running perfect! Love it
@Greenfarmer25 You'll get a hell of alot of more miles outta it. That's like brand new practically. Mileage has never been a problem on any of my Jap bikes. I had a 03 Bandit with over 100k miles before I sold it and that was carbs. I have a 07 Bandit now about 68k miles and even my 2014 S1KRR has 38k miles. Be good to them , they'll be really good to you. Ride safe 💙

Yeah man, I have a 2009 as my first bike. I consider myself lucky as it has been an awesome first bike so far.- plenty of power to grow into without being insanely fast…yet.

How much did you pay for it?
The 2009 version is nothing like the 2023, 2009 has 98hp, 2023 has 76hp.

Got mine in March 2015 with 6k miles on it. It was. Total eye opener of a ride. I was toying with the idea of throwing some clipons instead I've heard pretty good things from the forums
hell yeah, and i looked into those as well but decided to stick it out until i got my r6 to go ahead and cross all the boxes. didnt want to leave myself wanting more

I hate those stock OEM mirrors Yamaha uses. Buy some cheap 2006 Kawasaki ZX6R mirrors, they bolt right up and look way better.

@@dfitzwm oh dang I always wondered if it was possible. I have glasses too and I never want to get contacts lol glad to know it's doable. Do you use a full face helmet?
@chancebrown7541 iv seen I think fortnine put elastic bands on each side of the pads in the helmet if your helmet dosnt support glasses. Havnt tried it but could be somthing if you still need sorry for being a yr late 😂
The fz6r is so boring I sold it almost immediately after buying it and got an mt 09

Sooo what are the differences UNDER 100MPH between the 2? I'm sure the mt09 has a much faster topend since this is a detuned supersport i4. But you get that power back at the bottom end is not just lost power fully to an r6.
For me is looks, sound, acceleration, topend power in that order if i like a bike. But I'm only couple years in and haven't ridden a bike this fast even.
