    He finally did the timing mod way more peppy boo boo, now only if someone can crack the ecu on these bikes, the ecu cuts the timing in the first 2 or 3 gears ⚙️ from what I remember, sounds soo much better than before

      @@HalfClickUp yeah same here unless your going full on aftermarket stand alone ecu systems, you can however use power commander autotune which works wonders, really livens things up and works just as advertised but doesn’t beat a full dyno tune session but gets you as good as you can get without a dyno tune and gives you a proper tune for all altitudes as it auto adjusts to keep up with different environments and has further settings for costume limits of how much to adjust from base tune very versatile but it all depends on your wants and needs, like it’s advertised it very convenient for adding on more parts and the tuner will auto tune along the way, in my experience and drop in with a few tweaks it was very impressive for fueling tunes and the bike ran a lot cleaner and meaner from a dig it made a big difference remember the power commander only adjusts fuel in our application for the fz6r it’s very unfortunate it can’t adjust ignition but for most other bikes it has ignition tuning but not for the fz6r hence we are limited to hardware global ignition tweaks

Like a power commander or the one you do with the bike and just turning with dashboard controls? I am completely a newbie to street bikes. Always ran an 1200cc adventure bike till a storm took her away and my wife wanted something lower to the ground so she could take it out too. So here I am wanting more low end power but also not wanting go radical on this bike. What would be your advice? Any videos I should watch first etc? Thanks in advance!

      Hey dude welcome to the Fizzer Fam! The cheap route: 03-05 R6 header with slip-on of your choice, timing advance, PCFC fuel controller with Hindle Performance tune. That’s the route I took. Expensive route: same things as cheap route except for going with name brand exhaust system. Neater appearance and cleaner install… but pricey to the tune of $700 to $1200 depending on brand choice. Every mod and maintenance I’ve ever done on this bike is in my mods and maintenance playlist. Any questions, just let me know or email me at hcumotovlogs@gmail.com

I saw you mentioned in previous commend about the last piece mod- what mods have you got and what sequence would you recommend? Also have you done the derestrict on the throttle? Also youve have this mod done for some time have you seen any issue arise with this advance?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Před 10 měsíci +1

      Hey man I'd recommend that at minimum you already have a fuel controller and a tune. You'll also need to run 91 or 93 octane to prevent piston knock. First mod I did was exhaust and fuel controller with tune. I did this timing mod much later. I have experienced no issues since doing this timing mod. She screams on the race track with 101 octane VP race gas, and she runs 8 to 12 thousand RPM continuously for 30 minutes at a time over a 6 hour period when at a track day. North American models didn't come with the throttle restriction.

You’d be like the 6th or 7th person to do that, so the more people that contact them, the better. They surely are aware by now of the demand for that particular timing rotor. Mornin’ Roger! Hey man I take pride in responding promptly to all questions 😬
      I wouldn’t bother with this mod unless you’ve already done at least exhaust and fuel controller. Advancing the timing is sort of a final “stackable” mod on top of all the big things that squeezes the last bit of power output out of the ole’ Fizzer. The fact that it allows you to safely burn high octane fuel, for example, is something you wouldn’t be able to take advantage of if you didn’t have a couple of other performance parts to compliment the timing advance. Make sense?

    Would you happen to have to part numbers to the oem and the one you installed? I've been looking for a while and can never fond anything by that description other than forums calling it the same thing.

      @@HalfClickUp I think you mentioned maybe losing a little oil, is it better to drain it? I'm having a timing issue and there is evidence that the previous owner tried this and i'm wondering if it's been filed or something has come loose.

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Před 2 lety +1

      @@triple7988 no don’t drain the oil unless it is really time to change it. You’ll only lose a few drops when you remove the oil pump/timing cover, so you’ll just need a shop towel in place to catch a little drip.

      @triple7988 Před 2 lety +1

      @@HalfClickUp Figured out the issue. Was a damaged crank position sensor. It's the part mounted to the cover. Has some serious scratches in it, probably from the last time it was dropped.

      @@Grainsauce man I dunno if I’d risk changing any tolerances on the wheel… it’s VERY sensitive with regards to timing.. so are you saying the square “key way” is too small? If it’s not too far off, perhaps a tap from a rubber mallet is in order? As long as you can thread the nut back on so it all sits flush, you’re good.

    • @Grainsauce
      @Grainsauce Před rokem +1

      @@HalfClickUp Yeah its just the square keyway so shouldn't affect timing, it's just a little too big.

      @@Grainsauce think you can maybe be precise enough to hold the key way “centered” enough to tighten the bolt down and call it good? I know mine wiggled just a little bit until tightened down…

    Is that a special yamaha tool to hold the wheel in place while removing it?

    • @HalfClickUp
      @HalfClickUp  Před rokem

      Yes it’s used for holding the cam sprockets and the timing wheel. It’s not required, but it sure made things a whole lot easier.

Sorry for all the questions man just nice to be able to talk to someone that has already been through some of the things I qill be soon probably.
