      Before RG, Rafa beat him in Rome final as well in 2012. Those were 3 victories in a row that he needed after what happened in 2011 with Nole and that amazing 2012 Australian Open final.

      @@adriantroickic8477 "Easily" is a little bit too much don't you think? Yes he had his chance in that AO final, but overall Djokovic was a better player. Same way you could say in 2013 Djokovic could "easily" win RG 2013 match.

      @@nujeru99 Dude, Djokovic had hit 57 winners to 64 errors. Nadal hit 53 to 63. Novak also had 20 break points and broke Rafa 7 times. Rafa had 6 and broke 4 times. Not to mention that Novak won more points and many more games. Even points won after first and second serve are in Novak's favour.

      I was at that match, and saw Verdasco and his father afterwards in the Monte Carlo Bay Hotel. They were extremely warm after the match.

      We need to address woman's grand slams first. Those need to be best of five. If not, the consecutive days of play of Masters tournaments makes Masters more difficult than slams.

      Makes no real sense. I mean, you want them to play two best out of 5 matches two days in a row? Masters in general can be muvh tougher than slams due to playing day after day. Like in 2009 when Djokovic and Nadal played like for 4 hours in semis of Madrid and Nadal still had to go out and play next day.

    People and fed frenzy media may not realize wot nadal has done. Wot he had achieved. How he dominated clay or how he made clay season seem monotonous. Big serve wonders like kyrgios may belittle clay season (mainly to cover up their weakness getting exposed on clay), media may not highlight clay season as it does grass (because Roger safely skipped clay and it actually shows how he was afraid of losing to rafa on clay)... Jus remember his name Rafael nadal, crazy god of tennis who ruled an entire decade of clay season with players like Novak and fed in the mix.mark my words there will be no other player like rafa on clay. 🙏 🙏

    Nadal certainly has owned this tournament for a long time. I am rooting for Federer though to get it this year. Not sure how many more we will see him play. Great battles over the years at this beautiful venue. Peace

      True, he grow up playing on clay, it must have been a disappointment for only have one out of three clay court master! Before 2009 Hamburg master also on clay he had won twice but as for current 3 clay master only Madrid clay in 2012 he won. I do remember in Rome final he play against Nadal it was extremely close for him but I couldn't record what year it was~

      Advanced 4 times to Rg final only to fail against Nadal many call Djokovic as second best on clay but I think Roger is equal to Djokovic on clay actually tho I can be wrong thats my opinion.
