South Africans had visa free travel because we generally don't overstay in countries, but then we had other countries getting passports fraudulently from corrupt Home Officials and we were then punished. I don't mind though that we need visas now, because it prevents others from becoming illegal in countries in our name.

Thank you for elaborating your point, Katlego. I appreciate you taking the time to do so. My comment was based on "...South Africans themselves do not use the passport to travel." This statement insinuated that alllllll Cupcake's children did travel outside their country at all. However, now that you explained that you were referring to the use of our passport by real Southas to enter Ireland, I digress. I do not have the stats to quantify if real Southas travel to Ireland or not. Had you included "to travel to Ireland" in your initial statement, I would not have replied to your comment because I simply do not know. Additionally, I do not have the exact numbers of Southas who use their passports compared to those who do not use them. However, my friends, family, and I use ours frequently. So, I would not generalise by saying Southas do not travel. I think our generation travels more. I stand to be corrected. Love and respect to you, always ❀...

Maddam if ordinary South Africans stand up for these problems you call it xenophobia, By the way South Africans are not that keen in migrating, The fact is South African privileges are being abused by the foreigners and South Africans and the government are working very hard to gain these privileges, Look now South Africa in Africa and the whole world is the only country to stand up first openly against Israel when even the Arab nations were scared of standing up against the genocidal acts to the people of Palestine, Now if Palestine becomes free you think there will be a VISA between these two countries? Obviously NO, But there will be the need for an end of it if is being abused by the other people seeking asylum. Imagine coming from Afghanistan, Nigeria, Zimbabwe or Congo carrying South African passport seeking Asylum in Ireland. I'm a South African but i fully support Ireland by taking that decision, lastly let's fight together for the freedom of Palestinians.

Nanelle, you see because most of Africa has rotten passports, they lack credibility, passports from South Africa, botswana or Namibia have good passports and so what is happening is that Ghanaians, Nigerians, Zimbabweans, Congolese, Mozambique, Uganda, Kenya, Ethiopia, Sudan, Pakistan, are going to South Africa and obtaining passports corruptky and in the process tarnishing the image of the south african passport. South Africans in general don't flee the country because real democracy exists there and is a prosperous society. The white settlers who number 6 million ensures it remains prosperous. So it is foreigners who are abusing south Africa's passport and it is the corruption in their passport office that is enabling this.... That is why I am not a keen pan African myself, I am all for friendly relations with our fellow Africans but not having a one Africa government, it will never work. We are just too different from each other.
