I've had one for about four years, train with it at the range with my plate carrier all the time. Never snags, definitely one of the best investments I've made for my duty rifle
Thanks! Just ordered one.
I've got one. Good sling, good price. Not overly tacti-douche or boutique.
Alright, you sold me, I just ordered one. 🐻
This and the forward controls slings are my favs. Lunar concepts has sum pretty cool slings out too, but these thin minimal slings work way better with kit vs running a blue force gear vickers sling. Excellent product
Other than price, how is this different from a Vickers sling with a fabric pull tab?
The loop for stowing the sling tight to the rifle is already included on the ESD whereas Blue Force Gear charges another $7 or $8 for theirs or just use rubber bands. The ESD is both thinner and narrower. The thinner material doesn't matter but the sling being narrower might be uncomfortable for some people but it hasn't been a problem for me so far. The fabric of the ESD is a bit more slick so moving the rifle to my offside is always smooth whereas with the Vickers sling I have to pay attention to what gear I have on or even shirt/jacket material and transition the rifle just a bit differently so it doesn't hang up. Not a big deal, but its something that stood out immediately.
How does it compare to the magpul ms4?
I wouldn't hold my breath for Midwest to reply to you. I can't speak from experience but if you already have the MS4 their is no reason to shell out money for this Edgar Sherman. If you are trying to decide which one to get then the pros of the Edgar Sherman the price which is 40-45 dollars. The cons of the Edgar Sherman is the width is 1 inch. For the magpul sling, they are 1.25 inch width but at a higher cost. The magpul also has the ability to do a quick swap from a 1 point to a 2 point. I can't recommend getting a 1 inch sling unless you have already tried them before and you are ok with a 1 inch strap. From my personal experience if you only want a 2 point and are willing to pay magpul MS4 price I would recommend the Blue Force Gear sling, but thats just my opinion.
Both great options. The ESD is more narrow and is pretty flexible compared to the Magpul. So it comes down to personal preference really.
@@patrickwooton966 thank you both for the feedback. I’ve been getting the ms4 for around the same price as the Sherman. I was asking because I need one more for a build I’m doing.
Id check out the partisan sling at shield arms that tops this one.
But at twice the price
with a name like that it sounds more like smoke and mirrors junk.
I'l stick with my 1.25 blue force gear, if it was any smaller than 1.25 it would be uncomfortable, can't imagine a 1 inch being too comfortable. These ESD slings are priced very well at 40-45 dollars so that is a plus.
The 1 inch is actually very comfortable. Give it a try!
Blue force gear vicers sling is hot garbage compared to this esd sling. From the big ass plastic triglides(even the metal ones are big) of the vickers, to the material, to the big padding ....the esd is way better. Anybody who wears any kit, especially plate carriers, will tell u this. The days of bulky "padded" slings are done with. People want maneuverability, and a SNAG FREE sling.
Vickers sling is garbage compared to literally every other sling besides the USGI issued nylon 2points. And you could argue those are better also.
Anyone shilling a vickers sling in *current year* is a boomer who doesn't train in kit.
