Sure, he has evolved, but my main issue is that he is an amazing character who has literally been written to death that it's really no big deal for him to be the antagonist in a storyline, it's just not exciting anymore.

@@inyalgaico1563 I hated dark knights death metal but I enjoyed Hell Arisen. Again, I'm not saying he's not a great character, just a little too overused. Sometimes the best storylines are with characters that don't come around too often. (Superboy prime, the Anti Monitor)

What makes "The Batman Who Laughs" such a credible threat is the idea in the back of your mind that he already has a plan waiting to take you down. So when you face him you're not taking him on in a frontal assault, but mindgames as you try to figure out what he *really* has planned. Because that idea that he has another plan is nagging in the back of your mind you're always second guessing yourself because you're not sure if things are going your way or not. You're always waiting for the second shoe to drop. That's also what makes him a good read, the audience is left wondering "Does he know what I'm about to do?" and whether or not he can counter it.
That said I think DC is oversaturating "The Batman Who Laughs". It's the same problem they had with Joker, ironically. When you make such a good multi-faceted villain there's a risk of using him in every situation, thus taking away the impact of his villainy every time you see him. "The Batman Who Laughs" works best in his own tight-knit story line and shouldn't bleed everywhere. Contained he's an interesting character that compels you to see what he has next. Used too often though he he starts to become a crutch, used a vehicle to pull the plot along as opposed to a character with goals and direction.

I feel like that is more so an issue with the comics industry as a whole. They rely too much on just the idea that sells rather than if the story itself is gonna be good or not. Joker is Batman's #1 villain but you can get good storylines from his other villains as well. People have seen doomsday kill superman so many times that it doesn't matter anymore. I hope dc doesn't do the same to this character but looking at how many storylines he's in already isn't a good sign.

Despite the whole part being great, the one line where Superman says, You kept the secret from everyone, you took precautions to hide it from me, and it worked but just like Batman is world's greatest detective and strategist, Superman is also a great investigative journalist, so he knew there is a secret being kept.

So. I’m a bit new to the whole Batman who laughs thing. I know his origin and a bit of what he is. But I think from a narrative perspective what makes him such a fascinating thing. It’s the same thing of what makes injustice Superman so compelling. It’s a hero, the best hero, put into there worst form. And of course there going to drag it out. Everything is dragged out now a days. The really interesting thing is that he knows what to say to be cruel. The joker could be mean for sure. But this Batman, he knows everything. He knows that Clark still has trama relating to krypton and his family, he knows what to say to hurt bats, every single piece of info that Batman knows and holds back is on display with this villain. And he’s fought villains so he knows the pit falls common in villains and how to avoid them
The Batman Who Laughs himself explained why he's compelling. Because you know he's already won, you just haven't figured out how.

Better ways to figure out his plan:
-have Martian Manhunter read his mind
-use the lasso of truth
-have Dr. Fate or Spectre probe his soul or whatever
-just cure him while they had him
Those wouldn't work as in many series he is immune to his mind being tampered with. Martian manhunter can't read his mind, he won't budge to the lasso of truth, those two people wouldn't consider the batman who laughs a big enough threat, and before he became the batman who laughs he tried to cure himself but couldn't which lead to him turning into the batman who laughs.

So I’m reading the comments about how they milked it but people asked what would happen if batman killed the joker and this is what the causes were but I can see why people are saying it’s milked since there’s a bunch of comics about it even though it just mostly shows the batman who laughs is basically always winning because batman has plot armor and the BATMAN laughs has it too. That’s why they haven’t really killed him off.
