One idea could be make the subathon focused around bro vs bro. Each day you would face a new streamer, and rather than betting shoes or subs, you wager one day of the stream. So everytime you win, the person you beat has to take over the stream for the entire next day. This would provide a variety of content and allow for you to get breaks from the constant streaming. I expect to get paid for this idea

Would be cool to see a charity subathon where the charity changes every 24 hours. Transparent, helps multiple different charities and people who are passionate about one charity but not so much the others may be inclined to support certain days. Could also be used as a rough metric for seeing which charities your community/the CZcams community overall feels the most passionate about.

I like the idea of having a huge empty room with a giant wheel that you spin when sub goals are reached. The wheel is filled with individual tasks which must be completed as quickly as possible. When the task is completed a picture of you completing the task is printed out and posted to the wall to show all the accomplishments done during the stream. Task could be irl or gaming related and possibly a list could be generated with the help of friends, mods, and chat months in advance through a Google forum thing possibly try to make some of the tasks chat interactive. This gives the stream the goal of completing the most amount of tasks in the allotted time of the subathon and shows a progression of how the subathon went by the end of the stream by a cool room filled with achievements.

Even though letsplays also have questionable morality, both parties (letsplayers and videogame creators) seem to benefit from this, so it's fine in my books. Not only would most streamers not ride around their city for money, but they also don't live in Japan, which is just a cooler place to be lol. I feel like you could use LA as your backdrop. I think doing stuff IRL is the key. Especially if you're not looking to retread old ground, this subathon should not be in front of your computer or even in your streaming room. I think you shine when you're interacting with others, so perhaps there could be a way to include other streamers at times? Or just other regular people lol. I think the peak version of a subathon is having a Truman show style setup. A camera in every new room of the house, maybe two. That way we’re able to actually follow a person living their life instead of them just sitting at a chair for unreasonable amounts of time. It would also be much more dynamic to have some sort of portable stream deck that you could easily switch to the cameras as you switch rooms. It’s probably too expensive to produce something like that, but I think that is the future of 24/7 live steaming.

And maybe if he can get other people in on it he could set goals and if those goals are met, he can bring on certain creators and let them hijack the steam, do a challenge or something like that!

The appeal to me for subathons was just being able to assume someone was live. Not having to worry about schedules, inconsistent streamers, time zones and whatever, you can just tune into “THE PointCrow stream”, because of the 24/7 uptime. That’s honestly worth quite a lot.

Especially because not all, but some of the content was filling airtime. Do a subathon so that viewers can add time to the stream by contributing to the community. Viewers could go out and volunteer or do an activity that benefits their city. You could partner with an association that could verify viewer's participation and have each hour count as an amount of time added to the stream. I think adding the elements of escape puzzles could be fun. Like "in order to end this subathon i have to solve a series of puzzles, beat this series of game, and solve the final riddle" Something where there is a natural progression and the next "challenge" to do / beat. Some good games are the classic jump king, polybridge?, Myst (hard classic puzzle game), elden ring / dark souls, beating melee all-star with all characters? Some cool puzzles are mechanical puzzles on amazon or online somewhere else (these are physical puzzles that you can passively do on stream). And the final riddle can be kinda like a treasure hunt or elaborate ending to the entire event (solve part 1 to get a long/lat, go there to find the next piece, etc) something like "the final adventure to end the stream"
You could add more abstract things like (break a WR, face a fear, reach a new personal best, etc.) this would give more variability and you can try different things for each category.

Your subathon inspired me to do a 30-day stream in January, subs added to the time, but it wasn’t about money or subs, it was about the time, streaming for 30 days was the best time I’ve had on this platform in the past 9 years, waking up and cracking straight into a conversation, I loved it.
(The stream actually ended up being 782 hours)
However I felt terrible at the end of it, since I didn’t achieve anything, I felt as if I hadn’t provided my viewers decent content for the time they were there.
As a result of that feeling, I planned another one for September, a month long stream, but this time with scheduled plans and an idea for content going in, such as involving fellow creators in my niche by having them as guests on a game show. The fact that I have a plan this time is already making me happy, as I’m just able to enjoy my time live with chat.

“Subathons are boring” - the reason I started watching Twitch was for that (kinda parasocial) sense of “community” in a stream. While I love curated content too, there is a huge value to just hanging out and laughing with chat. Subathons bring this vibe typically found with small streamers to the big ones. There is something special about your favorite streamer having one BIG event that makes you feel like you were part of channel history. It makes you feel rewarded for being dedicated to the channel.

Keeping in mind having each one fully planned out before hand, permissions etc. Rockclimbing, sponanious day/ 2 day trip flying to meet up with x creator or see y landmark, city wide scavenger hunt (like a mini amazing race, having a set up crew always 1 stop ahead of you while doing challenges.), where/what to eat. (keeping in mind getting pre approval to stream, and having options broad enough that it makes sniping events harder.)

I think it could also be cool just having collaborations planned throughout seeing if you can do things with the content creators that inspire you. What people really cling to psychologically is their influence upon their environment. This is what makes streamers and subathons so appealing: _the accessibility the viewer has to influence._ If there was some way in which people can tangibly see or hear their influence (i.e. r/place) in the form of a stream, I feel like that would at least partially solve the issue of long spans of down time.
I also feel like subathons are very tied down to the individual streamer, when I feel like there could be more creativity. Having a *cat/pet subathon, a subathon surrounding a fictional character* (other than a VTuber) or a *subathon with multiple streamers* could be another possibility.
Obviously there are a metric shit ton of specifics to iron out in these suggestions.

People then worked out where the flag was by looking at the time of sunset and the air-traffic over head. They reached the location and took it down. It was sort of like IRL geoguesser. (Admittedly, the people that did that had some unfortunate views) It would be cool if you did something similar on your stream where you had you and your mods set up flags at a static camera angle and viewers had to go get the flag IRL. Hey Lud! So I actually discovered you THROUGH your subathon. Heard about you and checked out your content, been a CZcams frog ever since. Depending on how this Truman Show-esque subathon goes, maybe have milestones in it for possible guests? I think having guests would be a very interesting way to keep the ball rolling and keep it fresh.

you could do something like logan paul with his 99 originals, or something more like 100-day challenges
Obviously, you wouldn't be going on for this long but having multiple clear defined goals throughout the substation would be super interesting to watch you further develop and grow throughout it.
    could be something like
    -learning calisthenics tricks (handstand, l-sit)
    -learning gymnastics stuff (backflip, carwheel)
-learning craft (drawing every day, sewing, embroidery)
also a bunch more stuff too, just thought this would keep it fun for us and you as well :)

You could do a travel subathon. Go coast to coast in a month. Show everything you do and all the stops taken. You get a trip out of it and we get to see the country with you. Finally all the donations go to charity. Easy sponsorship so you don’t even have to pay for the trip 🔥

Imagine having a subathon where if you don't get enough donations by the time you finish a game you've never played, the streams over. This gives you leeway in taking your time with a game if you want, and chat gets some fresh new content.
Not the best idea, but I'm not gonna stress on it.

Maybe you could have the subathon lined up like how a kickstarter campaign works? The more money donated, and more time put up, the longer you're on, and you have a lineup of things to do to get chat excited? Like at X money you'll do bobbing for apples every X amount of money donated after that, or at X money you'll incorporate something into the subathon stream that you do sometimes. Like after 20k dollars or so, you would incorporate chat paintballs Ludwig every 1k or something.

One recent subathon that was pretty unique was PointCrow's subathon, he did it so every sub added a random time between 1 and 60 seconds, and you could see your roll above the timer so it pretty much turned the subathon itself into a game. There was also a 1/420 (nice) chance to get a legendary roll that adds 5 minutes for every sub, and like a 1/1000 chance (or something along those lines) that every sub cuts a minute from the timer. It doesn't change many of the other issues with a subathon (he actually watched the video on this channel about if the subathon was greedy ironically), but it makes it constantly interesting even when he was away and no one was in the room.

I think everyday should have a theme like today we're gonna learn how to do pottery or today we're going to learn how to do a backflip that way you're at least bettering yourself instead of feeling like you're just here to entertain us

  • @suJayhh

You should consider a variety subathon. Do 1 week of stream but have the content change on a day to day basis. You stream when you wake up and until you go to sleep for all 7 days, but the subs translate into what you do. For example, on day one you could be *cycling* and have the distance be based on subs, and you can't break unless the subs break. Day 2 you could play games but have more chaos based on the amount of subs, etc. Have subs equal quality, not quantity.

Subathon roulette, each new sub adds time and also suggest a new activity. The top 20 (x number) activities go into a roulette at the beginning of the day and that is the thing you will do (go to the amusement park, visit x streamer, playthrough an entire game, etc). Depending on the type of activities you are willing to do, you can have a list with options or completely free for subs' ideas, but maybe with a reward/punishment system when you succesfully do it or fail. If an activity is done in that day and you have time, you spin the roulette again.

Look at Tectone's subathon which ended a couple weeks ago, it was rather entertaining and most of the time he just did what he'd normally do. Also the wheel made it a lot less boring than it could've been without it. 👍

I was a huge fan of your first subathon and I think its cool that your considering a second one. I think if you wanted to spice it up you could have a preplanned timeline where donation goals could have events happen or challenges added.
Maybe one of the things you could do is play elden ring but if X number of dollars are donated you have to restart, or drop items etc (not to knowledgeable on ER but something like that) It gives people an incentive to donate because it prolongs the stream not from a timer going up but having to endure the challenge. Another ludlocke would also be cool. You could spin a wheel after every gym that adds a restriction to your run, and if X amount is raised chat could add another option to the wheel.
Something similar to Jermas dollhouse would be interesting to watch, again goals reached could have events added and maybe one of the goals IS to add another day to the stream. I know not the most in depth idea but something similar to that would be cool to interact with.
Just some quick ideas that came to my mind, still whatever you do I'll be looking forward to it.

  • @TheLargestRat
    @TheLargestRat Před 2 lety

The idea made me think of the dollhouse stream, something similar to that, obviously you can't just recreate jermas idea, but a stream where the viewers can interact with the streamer through other people or different mediums to make it more interesting, would be fun. Don't know how you could implement the increased length or viewer interaction portions, just thought I'd throw my two cents in and show some support for the idea.

i honestly really like the subathon style of streaming. yes it’s not as high level content, but knowing you can always tune in at any given time to a streamer, even if it’s just watching vghs gives you comfort. I didn’t feel like i lost out on good content when i couldn’t watch your subathon stream but i was always entertained while watching. not really helpful for your subathon 2 but just my 2 cents

    I have some ideas,
1, Invite guests to the house, You can even use some of the sub money for flights and such thats okay, But only whoever you are friends with on a personal level. Not just a "here is XQC cuz he is popular, And do stuff with them, Bro vs Bro or something like a "game show"
2, You could have 3 cameras in the house so you can do stuff in the living room and kitchen in case the room is too small for all the people,
3, have small contests with subs, Like a random battle tournament for the subs but a shorter one. maybe even smash or something,
    4. Try out new games for 1 hour, "hopefully indies mostly so it you arent bleeding your wallet out. that way you can give some games a little publicity and help some game devs out.
    5. make a weekly schedule, For example, Monday = mostly gaming and whatever on the side, Tuesday is outside day so you spend atleast 3-4 hours outside or working out. and so forth.

I really liked Quin69s first subathon. It had a proper end goal with killing Maven in POE after which no more time was added to the timer, which made most of the Subathon be nicely concentrated on gameplay. Quin threw in some great IRL content with scuffed interactions with the locals (it is Quin afterall) and it was in general just a fun time with an actual goal.

I think if you're going for public community cam style, it would be really cool / cute to make a robot camera that goes around the country (or just california) with some people you trust, and you hand it off to different content creators in different areas (mainly so that they are a good vehicle for it), and like drop it off at parks / local monuments and stuff, and the charity part decides where the bot goes / what the creator has to do with the bot (like go on a date with it, go to a waterpark, etc), and the bot has the camera feed from its eyes. It would be easiest to ask CZcams for resources honestly cuz idk where you'd get that 24/7 signal
