  • r/Maliciouscompliance In today's episode, OP has a toxic math teacher who absolutely hates his guts for no reason. So when OP is feeling sick one day during a test, his math teacher assumes that he's faking it and tells him to prove that he' ssick. OP happily obliges, even though he couldn't stop himself even if he wanted to. He barfs all over the classroom floor. This insane teacher then tries to get OP in trouble by claiming that he did it on purpose just to make a scene in class. WTF?

Whoops. There done that, though it was for a slip of paper that I forgot and the teacher would not listen so while frustratedly flipping through the binder, I unintentionally sent a pencil pouch flying and hit her, she flipped out, secured a fim grip on my arm marched me down to the principle and without letting me tell my side of the argument I was threatened with suspension. Okay, I can understand why a sickly kid may be frustrating to have in the class.
But this teacher is a straight-up Grade A bitch.
She doesn't like OP, so she will lower their grades?
How would she feel when the principal is like, "I don't like you, so I'll take $1,000 from your paycheck".
She shouldn't be fired. Instead, deduct money from her paycheck every time she lowers someone's grade due to nepotism.
She will get the point eventually.

1st Story- Reminds me of when my Mom had to fly across the country with my little sister when she was about 4 or 5. They were seated in a three-across row with a traveling businessman type in between them when my sister started feeling sick. My mother asked if the "gentleman" would switch seats with her so she could care for my sister. The man in question very rudely told my mom he didn't believe her and it wasn't his responsibility and he wasn't going to inconvenience himself. Whereupon my little sis promptly leaned across and projectile puked all over his nice new suit and important papers. I've always kinda admired my sister for her timing there.đŸ˜‚đŸ€Ł

Freshman year of HS, I broke my thumb during 2nd period one day and my teacher refused to let me go to the nurse. So, since I had to deal with it through all of long period, I just dealt with it for the rest of the day. Didn't tell my mom about it. Went to school the next day, went through that entire day, and after school I instinctively caught a ball barehanded with the hand with the broken thumb. The pain was one of the worst I've ever felt (and I've broken a total of 11 bones (including the same thumb twice more since then) and have had several emergency surgeries, so I know pain), and it shot straight up my arm into my neck. Finally told my mom, went to the hospital, and my thumb and its socket joint were no longer attached and had to be realigned. The doctor thought I only fractured it the first day and didn't really fully break it til I barehanded that lacrosse ball.
I made a very big point of showing the entire class of the teacher who wouldn't let me go to the nurse my cast and described in detail how broken it was. That teacher never said no to a nurse request to anyone in that class again.

I once broke my ankle during recess because I tripped over someone's feet. She was wearing thick boots, I stood on her foot and slipped.
I realized it was bad, so I asked our maths teacher for permission to see the doctor. She wasn't excited, because we had a test the next day, and she thought I just wanted to skip class. Also, I had to have two other girls come with me to support me while walking.
My teacher wasn't rude, but I'm sure she thought I was being overly dramatic. Next day I entered the room, using crutches. I will never forget the expression on her face.
I think, in general she was of the opinion "better safe than sorry", though.

I have a story very similar to that. I was out at recess and ran into another boy (we were both running while not looking forward) and we both hit the ground. He was fine, but I fell in a way that twisted my leg around and it ended up hurting so bad that I couldn't stand on it. The teacher outside thought I was joking, and tried to send me to the principal for faking, but when I said something along the lines of "You do realize if I am truly hurt and you don't send word to the nurse, your job is on the line, right?" that she realized not to die on this hill. The only reason I even knew to respond like that is cause I had dealt with so many shitty teachers before her that by now I learned what gets them to act right. Went to the doctor, and boom, had a sprained ankle with 2 torn ligaments.

During the next lesson (me still weeping) i couldnt take the pain anymore and i puked out about 2 liters of liquid (not dramatizing the entire desk and the floor was full of some mixture of grey translucent and green goo). They called the ambulance. Next day i came in with a neckholder (not sure if its the correct translation since i am in austria). I left my water bottle back in gym class and when I asked the teacher to let me get some water she refused to let me even after telling her I had cancer. If it weren't for the kids in my class backing me up (even some of the ones that used to bully me) I think I might have ended up dying or at least feinting. I just tell my students if they feel like they're gonna be sick, please go to the restroom and not be sick in my room. Then let me know when they come back so I can send them to the nurse.
I also had peppermints if they were nauseous (it's a natural anti-nausea aid but bc its "candy" I could hand it out)
I also just let kids sign themselves out and in for restroom breaks. As long as it wasnt excessive, during instructions, etc I was fine with them being treated like adults. There are legitimate times it needs to be restricted (i.e. lockdown, testing, etc) but I was generally pretty lenient so it when I did have to restrict it, kids were understanding and followed my requirements. I looked at it and it was really swollen. I raised my hand and explained that something was wrong with my knee. Again, we were testing and in my day “children were seen and not heard”. I was an extremely shy child that had a very hand time speaking up for myself - especially to teachers. She told me I was fine after I explained what was happening. I just shut up after that and pushed through with the test. Then, I had to get up to hand her the paper. This
was
BAD. I could t walk at all and she basically accused me of faking and playing it up. Again, I say nothing because I was honestly scared. After class I went immediately to the nurses office where she ended up calling my grandmother after seeing the swelling. I had such trouble walking I remember holding on the the railings for support walking to the nurse. I went to the doctor where turns out - I some how dislocated my knee. When my grandmother found out the turn of events
well
trust me the school and the teacher found out the hard way to believe me the next time I said something was wrong. No one messes with Nana’s.

When I get scared or stress it does something to my brain. I don't really understand the problem but every time I would faint. I would usually see this coming so I would go to the clinic, faint there, then go back to class to not bother anyone.
One day I accidentally did something that stressed me quite a lot and I started getting my usual symptoms I get before fainting. I told my computer teacher "Miss I need to go to the clinic", but she refused since she had this dumb rule that "You can't leave MY class since you should have done LEFT during LUNCH." since her class was after it. I was told her "Miss but this is important and I can't wai-", only to be cut off and yelled at "OP NO! You just want to get out of class!". So I asked one of my classmates to stand up, told them to hold me and faint right in the spot.

Everyone hated her because was very "old school" (liked humiliating kids that forgot homework, didn't believe in mental disorders, used slurs when talking about both physical and metal disabilities, talked about missing corporal punishment, etc) and reeked of cigarettes and booze. She hated me because I had an IEP (not sure if that's what they're called still, it was basically just a for stating I had special accommodations do to my physical health and mental disabilities). Long story short, we had to do oral reports, I asked to go to the nurse because I didn't feel good, she refused and tried to humiliate me because my report wasn't finished yet, I puked. The worse was after, she didn't just let me go to the nurse, she grabbed me by my elbow, lifted it way above my head to where I had to walk on my tippy toes and dragged me to the principal. She demanded that I get detention for disrupting class while my shirt and face were covered in puke. Thankfully the principals office lead to the nurses office and he let me walk right in. I spent a month sick with pneumonia in high school. I got about a chapter behind in math, but taught that entire chapter to myself. When I was finally well enough to return to school, my math teacher tried to make me take a test for the chapter I hadn’t learned. She told me I “should have kept up with the homework while I was sick.” Like I wasn’t just ‘sick’ I was 16 and couldn’t even wash my own hair without passing out, because 2/3 of my left lung was full of bacteria. I left the classroom and started bawling, like she treated me like I was on vacation during that time. I went to the guidance counselor, who called down to her room and explained that I was upset. I heard her say to him, “well she’ll have to take the advanced classes test if she insists on not taking this one!” I agreed to that, because I would have failed this one. The following week I took the advanced test and got an A, I imagine to her dismay. I’m not the best with math but I hope she realized that I was a hard worker. On the other hand, my teacher for AP English gave me a pass on most of my homework, saying I “had been hit by a truck for a month straight.” He was a great guy.

The puke story reminds me of a time in daycare (I was 4-5yo imo). During "snack time" we were all sat at tables and given like half a pb&j and a tiny children's dixie cup of milk. I have a strong aversion to milk. I don't think I am lactose intolerant, but the smell and taste of milk easily made me gag when I was a kid. I politely asked for water instead. One of the daycare workers decided I was lying and told me i HAD to drink the milk and that I in fact could NOT have water. I looked at the water fountain a few feet away from where we were sitting and back at the lady with her stern look and her hands on her hips and decided maybe this time I could just drink milk like a normal kid.
I took in all the milk in to my mouth, but couldn't swallow it. I tried to force myself to gulp it down but failed repeatedly. As soon as i placed the cup down however, the daycare worker triumphantly tried to take the cup back. I tried to swallow for the last time and got the milk halfway down my throat before I instinctively ejected it from my body. The milk sprayed all over the lady's outstretched arm and face. I didn't say anything, she didn't say anything. I was never served milk again.
also: this was in the 90's when every adult "knew" that milk was some wonder chemical that was going to cure cancer and aides and make kids live till they were 690 years old. I was forced to drink a glass of milk several times as a kid. Not every time ended in a violent milk explosion, but I honestly think I am pretty traumatized from it. Fuck milk.

My Spanish teacher didn't enter in any grades the entire year, and then two weeks before school ended he lost the grade book.
Without any records of people's actual grades, they had to base people's grades off of the two assignments from those last two weeks which were both graded based on participation.
Basically, everyone who participated in those last two assignments got 100% in class that year, which is rather fortunate for me because I'm pretty sure I should have failed that class.

That one teacher sounds like one of my old bosses. At Christmas, on the last day before our time off, just about lunchtime, he would stand in the middle of the department (the exit was right there, by the middle of all the cubes), and loudly proclaim "I don't want to see anyone leaving early!"
Then, he'd leave "for lunch" and not come back that day.
Most people would wait 15 minutes, in case he forgot something, which he did do, one year. A co-worker was leaving just as he was coming back for his thing, and he held his hands up over his eyes. "I don't see anything."
LOL. Everyone knew he was releasing them early. But also, it was lunchtime, so anyone could have just "left for lunch" and not com back, so even if he did see anything, he didn't see anything that meant they were leaving for the day, without permission. But, it did work as deniability.

What's funny is my extended family said the same thing one time I was sick. I have a much lower normal temperature, normally in the 96s, but my temp was at 98- which for meant I wasn't great, but I told them I was going to puke. They didn't believe me, and I ended up puking all over the middle armrest in their car and they made me sit outside a gas station with my mom, ignoring the fact that I warned them it was going to happen. They could have just stopped and let me puke on a bush or something, but nah. I also used to get migraines that would cause spots to appear in my vision- if I didn't drink as much water as possible I would end up puking, I always got weird looks

The first story reminds me of an incident in elementary school. We had a hurricane drill one morning. That day, I hadn't been feeling the best; I originally thought I was just hungry so got breakfast at school. So, halfway down stairs during the drill, I knew I was going to pick, and I tried to tell my teacher, who was a really nice teacher and under normal circumstances would have listened to me. Because it was an important drill, she cut me off and told me I had to keep quiet and follow my group. I reached the last step and proved to her why she should first make sure that there's not a problem; I picked all over the floor, myself and the steps. I was crying and apologizing while the teachers hurried to help. I even apologized to the janitor, who I was friends with (all the adults adored me when I was growing up, cause I was always so polite and kind) my teacher apologized to me as she rushed me to the nearest bathroom; which happened to be a kindergarten classroom's bathroom. Grandma got called and I was taken home, where I slept for about two days; I felt better the next day, but Grandma didn't wanna risk it.

I worked as a helper for a journeyman electrician in a remodel in a corporate office building. The remodel was while the company was still working in the building. We were given one exit sign to install with 2 additional helpers... for the week. One sign takes about 15 minutes for one person. We had to make this sign stretch 5 days in a room full of cubicals full of employees with 4 people. I stood holding tools for 5 days being paid twice minimum wage. The best part was the sign was installed in finished before first break on Monday, we just left one wire decoupled with each end wire nutted. The journeyman sat on the ladder with head in the ceiling sleeping, we just had to tap the ladder is a supervisor came by to check in. They never did. Never agree to pay on a time and materials job, some how a 15 minute job cost you 120 hours of helper's wages and 40 hours of Journeyman's wages.

While it's possible the teacher in Story 1 is a terrible person, I want to explain a lot of students lie about feeling sick or needing to go to the bathroom to get out of class. Especially this year when they're vandalizing bathrooms. We're also really careful with kids feeling sick this year, so I'll let kids who are legit not feeling well go to the office, but then as soon as they leave, my lazy kids claim the same symptoms with 0 believability.
Basically, the teacher is probably an AH, but not all teachers are when they tell you that you can't go to the bathroom.

I’ve got a great vomit story, too!
In middle School, I always had to pee during music class and my teacher took notice. She told me that it was rude of me to always go pee during her class so I promised to change because I respected her.
    Next day.
I felt crumby all day but it peaked in, you guessed it, music class. I held out as long as I could, but eventually (and very slowly as I was an acid-filled time bomb) I filled out my hall pass. I went up to her and asked to go to the bathroom and I can remember her having the smuggest “I knew you wouldn’t change” look on her face as she signed.
Luckily for me and the janitors, the bathroom was within ten paces of her classroom and I darted out the door. I managed to get into the bathroom opening in time for a loud, explosive pre-puking burp erupted from my mouth, echoing in the tiled chamber and I just barely, *barely* managed to get into a stall before proceeding to vomit up my guts like I was in a Dario Argento film.
I meekly went back to the classroom to get my things and I am faced with about 26 concerned and shocked teenaged faces staring at me, wondering if I just birthed a demon in the bathroom. My teacher was super nice and apologetic and told me to go to the nurse’s office.
Turns out, the violent sounds of my distress were easily heard by all those in the music room so there was no denying that I had been very ill.
I still wonder if they all just sat in silence for 5 minutes listening to me expunge the contents of my stomach.
And after I got back I did, in fact, change my pee schedule. Happy ending!

To your question about terminators: Arnold Schwarzenegger's character, or character*s* in those movies were two different kinds of Terminator. Technically they were more than that, but to keep things simple we'll say that there were two. The first one - as in, from the first movie was a t-600. His character from the second movie was a t-800.
The difference was largely in scale. The 6s we're mostly designed for specific targets, each one was purpose-built, although there wasn't really that much difference between them, because they were still built on the- at the time standard skynet infantry model of endoskeleton.
The 8s on the other hand were effectively skynet infantry, which had been upgraded to be able to operate more autonomously, with less reference to the overall skynet program. That's part of why they were so dangerous. Each one of the 8s was a vector, from which skynet itself could be born. As soon as they sent one back, it was almost inevitable that skynet would come to be. And they sent hundreds.

She looked so shocked and told me to be quiet the rest of the day, well every time she called on me I would write my answer down and hold it up. She was not amused one bit. Regarding the story @2:30 about developers checking in: This is the best outcome for malicious compliance I think. They took their boss' orders literally and checked in for everything, but the boss saw the error in his ways, was reasonable, and work after that was more efficient (presumably). No one was fired, no bad blood between management and workers.

One time in third grade I had the worst stomach cramps ever from something I ate at lunch, but I tried my best to deal with it cuz the first time I went to the nurse, she dismissed me, probably thinking I was faking for attention (she usually did that for every kid, especially frequent fliers like me [I often had gastro issues either from anxiety or from being lactose intolerant]). Eventually I told my teacher to call my mom to pick me up because I knew that the nurse wouldn’t listen to me, and I think I told her as much. Bless her, she believed me and called my mom right away. I’ll never understand why some school nurses are particularly cruel toward elementary-age kids. 🙄🙄

One time, in second grade, I felt my stomach get hard and I did not feel good. I knew I was going to throw up and wanted to get to the bathroom before whatever was in my stomach made its way back out. I told my teacher I was going to be sick and I didnt feel good. She hardly glanced at me, hunched over and struggling to keep my food down. "No you're not, you're fine go sit down" she told me. I was a kid who didn't like getting in trouble, so I did. Barely sitting, the discomfort in my stomach became worse. I was not going to hold off the impending show much longer and I really didnt want to puke in the classroom. I again tried to warn my teacher and ask her to excuse me to the bathroom, or maybe puke in her lap to prove my point. I hobbled my way to her. I didnt make it and she went wide eyed as the carpet in front of her desk became my lunches final resting place. One of my classmates/ friends commented on how gross it was. My teachers shock turned into a glare, her nostrils flared and she yelled at me to go to the bathroom, like it was my fault I puked in class. I tried to hurry, but when i felt another round come on and I aimed for the sink in the classroom. She again shouted at me to go to the bathroom. I remember looking at her indignat face in disbelief before booking it to the bathroom. I think I was pretty sick, because the rest of my memory gets fuzzy, but the office staff and principle were really nice to me while I waited for my mom to come take me home. The teacher story reminds me of an event when I was in school. We got our lunches at school, but it was pretty low quality. One day I'd gotten this apple pie as a desert but, one mouthful and I got the feeling something was off, so I stopped eating it. The teacher supervising us, making sure we were behaving insisted I finish it. I assume they were going for a, eat all you take angle. It wasn't really malicious, I was just obedient and they were blunt in their demand. As you might guess, after a few more spoons my stomach decided it agreed with my tongue and rejected it, forcefully. Sadly I doubt that teacher had any reprisal, I know I never got an apology. I always hoped they had enough awareness to realise what they'd done, and the empathy to feel bad about it.

But he checked me out and said I was fine and sent me to school. I was not fine. (To be fair, my dads an ER doctor) I think I made it half the day and I kept getting up thinking I was going to be sick. Luckily the teacher knew I wasn’t feeling well and let me keep getting up. Finally I threw up and was went home. When my dad came home I looked at him and said, told ya. (Also I did go to my schools nurse, but when she checked me out, I had no fever so technically she couldn’t send me home. This happened a long time ago 11 years so details are fuzzy)

I've done something similar to the pukey kid. I was in the hospital, IV and all. Now, something to know about me. When they flush the line with saline, I can taste it. And too much too fast and I'll gag or puke. Always have. So, one day, in comes a nurse I hadn't had before. Takes my vitals, switched my drip bag, and then pulled out the syringe for the flush. So I warned her. "Hey, just so you know, if you gun the flush, I might throw up. Can you please go slow?" She scoffed at me and rolled her eyes. I held my arm out, and she hooked on the syringe. And then gunned it. Like, I've never had anyone flush the line faster in my life. And what do you know? I puke. Except...I had been facing her head on. Puke in her hair, puke on her clothes, puke on her face. I apologized, said that I HAD warned her. She mumbled something and hustled off to clean up. I never had any more flush troubles the rest of my visit.
