- I pull the planter to the south farm get it swapped over from soybean plates to corn plates and go plant some sunflowers pulling the JD 7000 planter with the International 1086 to put some black oiler sunflowers seeds in the ground.
You both have great channels. Hope it's a great weekend be safe.
Looks like good weather at least in my area hope we can all enjoy it.
Great video thanks for sharing 👍👍👍😀
hi hi from new friends up in Canada :) Enjoyed seeing this process, completely new to me and i learned a lot!
Lol I just acted like I knew what I was doing that was my first time using that planter and first time planting sunflowers but it all worked out
@@knappfarms haha well there ya go! Now you’re a pro 😊😂
I just play a pro on CZcams 😂 I’m a CZcams certified professional farmer
What no gps and auto steer 🤣🤣🤣🤣 thanks for the video Michael
😂 yeah One day when I hit the lotto I’m gonna put that auto steer on the old 1086 just to make people wonder
I do not know about your area but several here plant milo(grain sorghum) for bird seed food plots. It could be planted with your planter and probably not change any settings. It takes quite a bit less fertilizer to grow and is drought tolerant!
The dairy farms grow a lot of sorghum and that was probably my top pick for what to plant good idea and guess lol
Is there a lot of sunflowers grown there commercially? I got your decal last week. Can’t remember to add it to a video, lol! It’s been crazy here.
Lol been crazy here too but no none commercial sunflowers here only place that frowns them use them for people to take pictures with or as dove food plots
When using the corn heads do you increase the population ?? I have planted sunflowers for several years (small 1-1.5 acre plots and some years don't get the coverage i should..
Yes I increased the population all the way to 56k but I think that was a little too much will probably back it down to around 45k next time
What plates and seed did you use?
I'm also curious about the plates for seed size.
No plates. It’s a finger pick up planter. He used the corn fingers
