    Came over from Scott's channel. Interesting what you have to go through to check it over. I'm out in Oregon and the planters we used for sweet corn were a lot different than now. Thanks for sharing.

      This is the first meter planter I've used. Aways used the old plate type planter. They were real reliable and simple but I wanted a notill planter just in case. I sure appreciate you watching and commenting. Thanks

    That should make it a better day in the field. I went through mine when I got the planter as well. I didn't know what I was looking for, only know what was broken. I want to have them run on a machine and have them checked for operation to know they are working right. Great info.

      I wasn't about to head to the field to plant without checking them. Too many moving parts you can't see. Still need to do some work on the hydraulics for the markers. About out of time.

    Inspection detection repair or replace makes for a much better day in the field accomplishing the task at hand. Thanks for showing how that works. Was that a Dewalt impact wrench?

      Your not wrong! The day you go to the field is not the time to find out you have problems. Yes, Dewalt. A very handy tool.
      I have videos coming up of more work I had to do to the 7000. Thanks so much for watching!!

    Is it possible to plant a sunflower with those fingers?

    • @stinsonfarms6724
      @stinsonfarms6724  Před rokem

      I'm not sure. I've never tried it. I have planted sunflowers with the plate type planter. Thanks for watching!!

    • @lukestrawwalker
      @lukestrawwalker Před 15 dny

      Yes, it's possible... might not singulate perfectly with the regular corn fingers... they make a specific set of fingers for sunflower seeds, they have a shortened "flag" or the slightly curved end part of the finger that grabs and holds the seed... they were made specifically for the size and shape of a sunflower seed. There's also some specially shaped fingers specifically for popcorn and pumpkin seeds as well IIRC... the regular finger pickup will plant them, but if you want the absolute maximum accuracy then the specialty fingers for the specific seed is the way to go...

    Do you have bean meters for it??

    • @stinsonfarms6724
      @stinsonfarms6724  Před rokem +1

      I do not. I have been planting beans with a drill but I think I will get some meters for the planter and use it. Should get a more consistent stand.

      @@stinsonfarms6724 Kinze brush meters bolt on the bottom of the hopper identically to the finger pickups and will meter any other crop like cotton, grain sorghum, or soybeans just like a sewing machine-- virtually identically to an air planter... we used Kinze brush meters to plant those crops for years and it was amazing how precisely it planted!
